Happy Friday, friends! I’m back with my August Favorites. This is a roundup of new finds and old favorites that I’m particularly loving right now.

August Favorites
For size reference, I’m 5’5″, and I usually take a 6/28 in pants/jeans, a small in tops, and size 8 shoe.
one // I was excited to see this dress pop up in navy. It’s such a great occasion dress — I wore the black one to my nephew’s wedding a couple years ago. I recommend sizing up at least one full size.
two // These boots are very similar to the pair I had last year and wore a ton, but the price point is a little more palatable. This light cloud color is very on trend this fall, but they also come in several other great neutrals. (also wearing: 7FAM jeans)
three // I’m loving this split neck tank in the animal print for going out looks. You may want to size up if in between. (also wearing: Good American jeans)
four // These shorts are the newest addition to my workout wear. They’re super lightweight and comfortable, perfect for running or walking in this heat. (also wearing: Mountain Hardware shirt)
five // This chic and classy tote is perfect for those returning to the office this fall, and also for travel. It has a padded middle zipper pocket for my laptop, and several other pockets for smartphones and tablets. (also wearing: LOFT linen tee // AGOLDE Toni jeans // Dolce Vita slides)
six // These strappy sandals look great with jeans, dress pants, and dresses; and they’re surprisingly comfortable. They also come in metallics, which are perfect for semi-formal events. (also wearing: Mother Insider jeans // Tory Burch hobo)
seven // I don’t have a great close-up of these earrings, but they’re really fun and make a nice statement without being too overbearing. (also wearing: BlankNYC moto // 7FAM jeans // Ann Taylor tank // Gucci sunnies // Madewell necklace)
eight // I know, I know, if you’ve seen these jeans once, you’ve seen them a hundred times, but they’re really all I want to wear right now. They’re so soft and stretchy and comfortable, but still super chic and very on trend. (also wearing: Splendid tee // Birks)
nine // I’m starting to really dislike wearing shorts, and this casual skirt is the perfect alternative. It’s stretchy and comfortable and still looks put together. I wear the size 2, for reference. (also wearing: Michael Stars muscle tee // Dolce Vita slides // earrings)
ten // My newest favorite boho cuff from Victoria Emerson, this one has such a fun mix of metals, beads, and the black and white leather strap.
eleven // This tee is also super lightweight and comfortable for exercising in hot weather. I especially like the pocket on the side for stashing a key or driver’s license. (also wearing: trail shorts // hip pack // running cap // sunnies // water bottle)
twelve // And part of the same purchase from Backcountry, I’m loving these new On Cloud running sneakers! They’re so so comfortable, and I love the color combo.
thirteen // I wore this t-shirt to Massachusetts and forgot how much I love it. I’ve had it for several years, and it’s still in great shape. The rolled edges are a really nice touch, and I feel like it looks slightly more elevated than the Splendid v-neck tee that I wear a lot as well. For size reference, I have a small in the AllSaints, but I take a medium in the Splendid. (also wearing: KUT from the Kloth jeans // Birks)
fourteen // This bag is a really nice option for those how like quality leather but don’t want to pay Tory Burch prices and up. I also love this color for fall. I have it, but I haven’t photographed it yet.

Great post. You said you’re disliking shorts lately. May I ask why? I have found that I like dresses more lately instead of shorts.
I just feel like they’re always riding up, and I’m always tugging at them. I probably need to size up but then they’re too big in the leg opening. Overall, I just feel more comfortable in jeans or skirts.
Great finds for you for sure. I like how you get use out of the things you buy. Why did you write that you are really starting to dislike wearing shorts? You look so good in shorts and are fortunate you can still wear the shorter length. I haven’t liked shorts for along time now and struggle finding the right length and fit all the time. At almost 60 yrs old I have been wearing more casual dresses. Glad to hear Caroline is doing well. I think it’s to be expected to have a few things go on, but on the whole, sounds like she is ready to start the year. I’m assuming she hasn’t started classes yet? Did she pick a major yet? How did the cookies go over? Lol. Have a great weekend. I woke up this AM not believing it was Friday already.

Another great post! At least Savannah seems to be accepting that Caroline isn’t there all of the time now. Just imagine how excited she will be the first time Caroline comes home for a visit. The devastation going on around the globe can definitely get us down if we aren’t careful. Praying about all of it is our best option. We are still having high temps and heat index, so going outside just isn’t fun. Come on Fall!

No problem, they’re the rose nubuck, but it was discontinued last year. You may be able to find a random pair on ebay or something.

Great post. I like the MK bag as the logo isn’t so large like some of his bags. I see you also like skirts!
I really like maxi skirts and they’re getting harder to find for someone who’s over 50. Plus I wear a size 2 or 4 petite. I’ve already looked at Nordstrom and not much luck.

Yeah, maxi skirts are not as popular as they once were. And I’m not sure for petites, but maybe someone else will chime in. 🙂
Any idea where I could find mid rise (do not like high rise) petite curvy jeans that are a regular length – not cropped or ankle? I am striking out. Would like straight or boyfriend ripped jeans in a light wash. Don’t seem to be available anywhere.
That’s a tall order, lol! I will keep an eye out, or maybe someone else reading along can recommend something. Are you in my FB Group? Those ladies are a great resource for this type of question.
