Welcome back to 22 Days of Summer Fashion! Today I’m styling this black peplum sweater for a classic summer outfit that can take you from the office to dinner and pretty much anywhere in between.
July 4th may be a week away, but LOFT just launched one of their best sales of the year in honor of the holiday: 50% of EVERYTHING as well as FREE SHIPPING on every order! The code is JULY4th, and the price reduction will show up in your shopping cart after you apply the code.
The free shipping is only for a limited time, and you know how things sell out, so if you have anything on your wish list, I’d advise you to order it sooner rather than later.
I picked up this crochet tank when I was shopping in the store last week. I was so excited to see a top with some structure!!! It also comes in a pretty rust color that would be gorgeous going into fall.
Underneath this sweater, I’m wearing this Two-Way Shaping Tank in black. It helps smooth everything out, and it keeps it from being see-through. I didn’t find it hot at all. It’s supposed to keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
I like that the shaping is only through the midsection, not over the bust, so it doesn’t reshape the girls too much (lol). I tucked it into my jeans so it wouldn’t ride up, so you can see the jeans through it a bit. Maybe a nude tank would be better, but I feel better with the black under this.
I paired this sweater with white jeans. I love black and white any time of year, but in the summertime, I think it’s especially stunning.
These DL1961 Florence white jeans are still on sale for $99 at Bloomingdales. This is a GREAT PRICE for these jeans. I rarely see them lower than this, and this style is so classic.
I tried on a few different pairs of shoes, trying to wear something other than these Lexington wedges that I’ve shown SO much this summer, but in the end, I really liked this outfit with a neutral shoe.
I did want a pop of color, however, so I decided to carry a pink bag. This Britten Small Slouchy Tote is one of my favorites. I tend to carry it more in the wintertime, but I really love this raspberry color with the black and white outfit for summer.
For accessories, I thought it would be pretty to incorporate some white, so I wore my Quill Layering Necklace (just the long part) and Havana Chandeliers. These earrings are so popular, they sold out and have been on backorder until today! If you like them, get them while you still can. I am expecting them to be discontinued when the new fall styles come out because they’re rather summery. I absolutely love these earrings. They make such a great statement, and you can remove the bottom for a neutral stud so they’re extremely versatile.
I finished off the look with a gold cage cuff, my Fitbit bracelet, and my mixed metal link ring.

My closet sale is still going! I shipped out about 15 packages yesterday. It took 3 of us to carry them all into the post office. I feel bad for the people behind us in line. I have a few things left, and I’m hoping to add a few more stragglers today. You can find the closet sale on Instagram: shopjolynnescloset.
Be sure to visit Cyndi and see the summer outfit she’s styling today, and come back tomorrow for my last summer outfit in our 22 Days of Fashion style collab!
Don’t worry, that doesn’t mean that I don’t have any more summer outfits to share with you. There just won’t be a new one every day, but that’s okay. That gives me a chance to discuss some of the current trends and to feature all the great sales coming up next month! There will be plenty more summer outfits before all of the fall fanfare ensues.

Consider a life proof case! They are a little expensive, but it’s water proof and my kids have chucked my phone on a concrete floor before and it still didn’t crack, shatter or even scratch!
I really should! I just like the pretty ones. I know, I know… LOL!
Mine has a clear back and some different crafting papers would be easy to cut to fit and easy to change out too!
I think the tank looks so much better on you than on the Loft model! I would not have considered the tank without your pictures. How did you find the sizing and what size do you have on? I go between M and L, and am wondering which I should order. Thx
I have the medium. I saw it in the store and it caught my eye. I never noticed it online! Funny how that is sometimes. I would size up if you’re in between. Being sweater material, it is a bit clingy, but not in a bad way. Just in a you probably want to size up kind of way. 🙂
Love black and white with a pop of color!
Thank you! xo
Did you notice that you & Cyndi are both wearing your white jeans on this day of posts? So alike, yet so different!!
And I love how your one picture includes the chocolate shop—-did you get to visit?
Your look is very classic today—I’d certainly wear it!!

Yes, I thought that was kind of funny. And yesterday she styled Old Navy shorts, and I was wearing them. 🙂
You look fabulous!! Definitely my favorite outfit in the summer fashion series. I know that everything goes with white but this color combo. is still my favorite and your outfit looks classy and chic. The pop of color was a great addition.
Thank you!! xo
Great outfit. It has an air of sophistication. Must be the black and white. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your Days of Summer. Thanks so much.
Thank you! It’s been a lot of fun. I always enjoy these series.
This is such a pretty and classic outfit, Jo-Lynne!
Thanks, Melissa!
This outfit looks wonderful on you! I think it’s my favorite of all your summer picks. Great date night outfit!
Definitely! That reminds me, I’m due for a date night. Hmmmm…. 🙂
Love the peplum top! This is one of my favorite outfit in your summer fashion! I really like the idea of adding a pop of color with a handbag. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you!
Love this outfit! And my favorite thing is the bag, but come on! You are really killing me with these high prices. $475 for this bag is WAY out of my range. 🙁
I hear ya. 🙂 I got it on a clearance sale when the color was discontinued.
Lucky you! Such a cute bag!! 🙂
I think this is my all time favorite summer outfit on you! Very pretty!
Thanks, Janice! It is one of my favorites too. I really like the more structured tops like this. I hope they’re coming back in style.
Is this a sale that tends to happen yearly? I.E. 50% off all things and free shipping
I don’t know that it’s a yearly thing, but based on the other sales they’ve run this spring, this is a pretty good one. Every once in a while they do a flash 60% off thing but it never lasts long.
Love this outfit on you. Also just wanted to say that I’m enjoying your new various hair looks and all of the new locations, backgrounds a poses. Really fun! You always brighten up my day.
Thanks, Resa! It’s a lot of fun. 🙂
Your hairstyle perfectly frames your beautiful face. Your outfit is fine but you are what shines today!
Awww, thanks, Peggy! 🙂
A new favorite for me of your outfit! Loving your wavy hair…you really got this down didn’t you?
Thanks, Leslie! I am getting better with my hair, yes. It still takes an AGE.
Classy and perfect outfit, love your shoes and bags.

Thank you, Rach!!! xo
Love the black and white-definitely my fav. For those wanting a less expensive hot pink, Coach outlet has several styles and everything was 50% off and some had another 50% off. Plus Charming Charlie always has great bags for $30!
Great tips, thanks! Pink is so popular right now, there are lots of options at different price points. Gotta love the Coach Outlet. 🙂
Love your nail polish. What brand and color is it? I have tried finding a fashionable blue color but seem to always pick the wrong one. Love all your posts.
The one on my hands is Creekside – it is a CND Shellac. I am not sure what I am wearing on my toenails. It’s Zoya – that is all I remember. 🙂
Such a beautiful classic look, JoLynne. I love the gold accents on your jewelry and purse. And I love the tank! – Amy
