Greetings and Merry Christmas! I couldn’t let the day go by without popping in to say hi and spread some Christmas cheer.
As usual I’m up before the rest of my house, sitting here drinking coffee by the light of the Christmas tree. Shortly I’ll start playing Santa and getting the kids’ stockings ready. I used to stay up late and do that on Christmas Eve after they’ve gone to bed, but now they outlast me, so I get up and do it in the morning before they wake up.
We had a fun Christmas Eve celebrating Caroline’s birthday by going out for sushi (her choice) and then later on, opening our pajamas by the tree and watching Elf together.
I’m looking forward to a leisurely Christmas celebration today, making memories in our new home. I know it won’t be perfect; nothing in life is, but it’s ours, and I’m grateful for it.
While it’s fun to open gifts and enjoy our families and good food and the comforts of home, my hope is in none of these things. In the words of Mary, My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!
Wishing you and yours a joyous and blessed Christmas Day!
