It’s ironic that I’m in Maine as I write this post because these classic pieces take me back to my New England roots! Right before we left for this trip, I received a new order from Frank & Eileen, and this rolled funnel neck sweater in the summery navy and white stripe went right into my suitcase… after I took these pictures, anyway.

Monterey Rolled Funnel Neck Sweater in Pure Italian Cotton c/o (size S) // Galway Gaucho Jeans in Italian Dream Denim, 1972 Wash c/o (size 29)
This luxurious cotton sweater is yarn-dyed in Italy and knitted by artisans in sunny California, and it’s a piece you can pretty much wear year-round, depending on your climate. I won’t lie, I was roasting in the Pennsylvania heat, but I knew it would be perfect for sitting by the lake on a crisp, cool summer evening in Maine.

The exposed seam detail on the sleeves and the rolled edge hem are such nice details, and I like how the stripes are on the body only. I will say, though, it runs big. I’m wearing the small, and it’s plenty roomy. You may want to size down for a closer fit.
I’ll probably wear this sweater with white shorts in Maine, but for this post, I styled it with my Frank & Eileen Galway Gaucho Jeans and a pair of silver sandals for more of a transitional look.

These jeans are one of my summer favorites; I’ve been wearing them so much since I got them a few months ago. The denim is so super soft and comfortable, and I love the trouser style waistband for a more elevated appearance.
I also styled them with my new Eileen Relaxed Button-Up Shirt in the featherweight cotton in the black, for a chic neutral look that exudes the understated elegance Frank & Eileen is known for.

This best-selling shirt has Frank & Eileen’s signature bust-flattering button placement and the perfect relaxed fit, and the featherweight fabric is pure magic.

It’s 100% cotton, super soft, and extremely lightweight. It isn’t hot at all, so it’s perfect for summer, and it isn’t as prone to wrinkling as linen.

For a chic monochromatic look, I also tried pairing this black cotton button-up with the black Derry Illusion Pull-On Pants.
This is such a simple look, but each piece is so well made and flattering, you really don’t need much else. Just throw a cotton crewneck sweater over your shoulders, and call it a day.

Ever since I got these pants in the Antique White, I’ve been wanting the black, so I finally took the plunge, and they’re amazing. They have such a nice fit and feel, and the pull-on styling is so convenient. These pants run true to size; I’m wearing the 29.

These are definitely investment pieces, but if you enjoy selectively filling your closet with high quality items that are both functional and beautiful, I hope this post was helpful for your wardrobe-building needs. Frank & Eileen clothing makes lovely gifts, too!

The pieces look really nice on u, but the price is a killer. $238 for a shirt. Better be the best shirt ever!!
What size do you wear in the utility skirt from evereve? I want to order one
I ordered the 29.
I struggled with F&E pricing initially…. Then I really honed in on the pieces I was certain would serve me well! They’re worth it. I’ve worn the pleated linen shorts at lest 4 times a week this summer. The linen is incredible and the shorts hold their shape. I also love the Patrick tee! Wowzers is all I can say! I’ve decided the dresses really aren’t for me as I need a bit of definition rather than a slouchy fit (except the Rachel, I think it’s called? It’s the short sleeve dress similar to the Patrick) My giant F&E wish is FULL LENGTH anything pants at this point!! Also love the Catherine bottom…. But again wishing they’d do it longer. I’m a fan of this brand and am excited to see them bringing on new styles frequently lately! Yay!
Thank you for your great recommendations!
I keep meaning to purchase those black leather sandals you are wearing in the monochrome look. Could you link they again for me?
Sure. They’re right here.
If you have time you should check out Wiscasset and Georgetown. Reid State Park is gorgeous as is Popham Beach in Phippsburg. As a mid coast girl I think we have the best coastline!
Thanks for the recs!
Beautiful pieces! They all look perfect on you. Have a wonderful time in Maine!
Hi Jo-Lynne,
Did you have a coupon code for the Frank and Eileen? I thought you posted it and now l can’t find it. Every bit helps, thank you!
Yes! It’s $50 off a full price purchase with code SUMMER50
Great looks. The pull on pants would be amazing. Your trip sounds wonderful. I live on the West coast ( hour from the ocean) which is beautiful, but I think you have more quaint places to see on your coast. I don’t want Summer to be over yet, but already excited for Fall fashion. Maybe you and Cyndi could do your Fall colab post like you use too. Those are great. Have fun. Please keep Oregon in your prayers. It’s burning with soooo many fires. My husband is a Fire Chief and he gets calls daily asking to send guys to help with a new fire. We are a small district so we can’t afford to let too many of our guys go elsewhere but we sent some yesterday. My son is a fire fighter also and his part of Oregon is so Smokey from the fires. Just so unhealthy.
In what country is the funnel neck top made?
Thank you.
All Frank & Eileen products are made in the USA.
I have had my eye on the Derry illusion pant for awhile. I have the Murphy Pant and it is very light almost thin. Is the Derry lightweight or a bit heavier? For the price I would like to get 3 seasons wear out of them- I live in the Northeast.
I don’t have the Murphy, so I can’t say from experience, but the Derry is a 3-season pant, for sure. It has a stretchy denim feel.
