Coffee Talk 03.06.22

Good morning! I’m going to need to get off here soon and get ready for church, but I wanted to hop on for a quick chat.

I went out early this morning to get a walk/run in before the rain, and somehow I managed to twist my ankle, so I’m sitting here with ice on it. Never a dull moment, I tell ya! I think it’s okay, and I was able to finish my route, but it’s definitely sore and I want to make sure to nip it in the bud.

Anyway! I hope you’re having a good weekend. Ours has been quite busy. C got home for Spring Break on Thursday, and R had the day off on Friday, so we went to the mall for lunch and shopping. We didn’t buy much, but it was fun to look around.

R’s getting excited about her band trip to Disney in a few weeks, so she wanted to look at some spring styles, and I think C mainly wanted Shake Shack, but it was fun to have them both together.

We just hung out here at home on Friday night and ordered pizza and watched the Sixers. And here’s a funny thing. We waited almost two hours for the pizza delivery, which is fine. It was a Friday night, and the DoorDash app let us know it would be that long.

But when it arrived and we opened the boxes, both pizzas had been put in the boxes upside down. I am not even kidding. I have no idea how that would even happen.

It was a mess, but we managed to eat it, although it was definitely a knife and fork situation. And yes, we got a partial refund.

So yeah, that was Friday. Then yesterday, we went down to visit Paul’s mom for lunch and then to R’s indoor drumline competition. It was the first time D and C have seen her perform in the drumline, and she was thrilled they came. She’s always begging them to, and they’re never interested, but I guess the stars were aligned.

It was their best performance so far this season, too. Last week they got derailed by some technical issues, but this week they were right on point, so I’m really glad we were all there to see it.

I’m excited about the posts I’ve been working on for this week. I got all my pictures back from Sarah, so there’s lots of spring outfit inspiration and vacation looks, whether you have plans for Spring Break or you’re just excited to start transitioning your wardrobe for spring.

I can’t think of much else to tell you, so I guess I’ll keep this one short and sweet. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  1. Sounds like an eventful weekend! Sorry to hear about your ankle. I hope it’s feeling better and yes elevate it and keep with the ice and hopefully the rest will do it good.
Enjoy your day and having all the kids together again:)

  2. When my kids were in High School I made them join band for the friendships. Only 1 of my girls could actually play an instrument, and our band is a 4 year class. But I wanted something for them that could be fun but challenging and would have a built in set of friends. All 4 years the kids go on big trips so they have gone to Disney, NOLA, Jacksonville and New York with bowl games thrown in. I remember from my youth that it was so much fun to go on field trips with my friends without my mom hanging around. My eldest even met her now husband in band and their group still hangs out 10 years later. Hate when people put band down as that was the best thing for my girls

  3. Oh my goodness, take care of your ankle & enjoy your family!! It sounds as though the leprechauns showed up early at the pizza place!! Never heard of that happening either. . . it will be one of those funny family memories in the future. Take care!!!

  4. I am so sorry about your ankle and I’m praying that it is a very minor injury! It sounds like you and the girls are having fun together. Because I was on drill team for four years in high school (8th-12th grades), I know how much it meant to Becca to finally have her siblings watch her/their performance. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  5. I don’t understaned why I can’t save your photes anymore. The Pinterest save link dosn’t appear on your photes. I have tried 3 different devices and 2 different Wi-Fi And nothing appears to let my save it. I was wondering if anybody else is having that problem.

  6. College seems to be great for adjusting priorities! My college freshman daughter attended her sister’s State swim meet this year after NEVER going to a Varsity meet the 2 previous years! She also brought her 3 suitemates!🥰 We all had a blast watching and cheering together!
We also had a pizza fiasco this week…. Onion instead of bacon🙄😝. What the world?!?!
I hope your ankle heals quickly!

  7. I hope your ankle is ok! I broke mine 3 1/2 years ago stepping over our big dog. Anytime it gets tweaked now, I freak out. My oldest just got home from his band Disney trip! They were invited to March in the Mardi Gras Main Street Parade at Disney World! Once in a lifetime experience for sure!! Enjoy your family time!
