Spring is here! Spring is here! Yay! Yay! YAY!

I had so much fun getting dressed this week.

Day 1

This was the last frigid-cold day we had. Literally, with the wind chill, it was 10 degrees. AND I RAN IN IT. Three-point-six miles. GO ME!

Any-WHO. Then I got dressed and took my daughter to a doc appt. Wearing this. (I swear, I had makeup on. Not sure why I look so drab.)

The blue V-neck sweater felt cozy without being bulky, so I thought it was a good choice for a cold day in April. I wore it with dark jeans and my black leather jacket and black pointed-toe flats, and I thought the outfit was going to be cuter than it turned out to be, lol.  The whole look is just very dark. Oh well.

Day 2

This is the day the weather turned to spring. HALLELUJAH!!! I wore this outfit out to lunch with a friend.

Here’s how it came together: I knew I wanted to pair my yellow ballet flats with my white jeans. Then I decided that I should wear my denim jacket since it was a mild day, but I still needed something to wear under my jacket. I figured the magenta sweater would be a nice contrast. And of course my favorite green bag worked into the mix of bright colors as well. I opted for fun earrings rather than a necklace, but I think I should have gone the other way. It was okay with the jacket on but pretty plain when it was off.

I threw on some fun bracelets for more color. I paired a yellow bracelet with a gold spiral one on one arm, and then on the other I wore a this green stretch bracelet that pulls in the green from my handbag. I picked up both the green and yellow bracelets at Target last weekend.

That night I went out with some friends. Since it was evening, I knew it would be getting chilly. Plus I was in the mood to wear heels, so I just changed into a whole new outfit.

The Double Bead Cardigan in Pomegranate from Banana Republic is a fun springy color, but the long sleeves kept me warm in the restaurant. I went for bootleg jeans rather than my typical skinnies. They seemed to work better with my heels.

THESE are my favorite part of the whole ouftit. I scored these at Nordstrom Rack a few weeks ago, and I’ve been dying to break them out.

day 3

Saturday we took the kids into Philly to see a play at the Walnut Street Theater. It was a daytime play geared to kids, so there was no need to dress to the nines. I wore my red jeans with a black tank and this silver cardi that I finally brought down from the attic along with my other spring clothes. (It’s time to start changing over all our closets. YIPPEE!!!) I kept it simple with silver jewelry, and I wore this outfit again to church on Sunday.

Saturday night, my husband and I had a dinner date. I wanted to wear this fun top that I picked up at a local shop a few weeks ago, so I changed. I paired it with my dark skinny jeans and broke out my favorite dressy sandals for the first time this season. I felt like the whole ensemble needed some color so I grabbed this pink clutch.

I love the back.

Day 4

Monday I wore shorts. Oh yes I did!!!!

Suddenly it was 79 degrees, so I happy pulled out my favorite jean shorts and put them on with a black embellished tee from LOFT and my silver Reef flips. The bracelet is from Everyday Icing. If you like bling, be watching for a fun giveaway later this week!!

The earrings are Stella & Dot.

Black and denim is still one of my favorite combinations, and I love that I can accessorize with any color I like!

  1. I wish we could vote on our favorites each week. Day 2 evening would get my vote this week– you look great!!

  2. Wow! Can’t believe you got to wear shorts this week!!!

My mom said one day was like 80 (or so she felt) around NYC. Me, I’m just far enough into the tundra to insulate the cold. Although, it was nice here for a day, not shorts weather, but nice.

Love your outfits this week. I appreciate the touches of spring. That makes me happy. 🙂

For me, today is all about dresses. That’s my sign of spring.
