Where, oh where did my pretty spring go???? Where, oh where could it beeeeeee????
It’s been sooo coooold this week in Philly, but I am determined that my boots and winter coats are in hibernation until at least September so I’ve been doing the best I can to dress for spring without freezing my tuchus.
Did you know that tuchus is actually word? If you speak Yiddish, anyway. But it’s spelled toches. I figured no one would get that if I spelled it that way so I went for one of the alternatives. Yes, I look these things up. I can’t stand misspellings and grammatical errors — even when they’re slang. And that is why it takes me an age to write a blog post. That and the OCD that causes me to proof every post 110 times. And, you know, every ding that signals a new email or Facebook message or Twitter reply . . . Yes, I do believe in adult onset ADHD. But that’s a post for another time. Back to Daily Mom Style . . .
Day 1
This 3/4-sleeve banded waist top is great for this in-between weather. The material is lightweight, but it has some coverage for these chilly spring days. I paired it with a medium-wash denim skinny jean and wore silver ballet flats. Simple silver jewelry is all this casual outfit needed. I can’t remember where I wore this, but I must have been going somewhere since I was carrying my purse.
Day 2
Same skinny jeans, this time with a coral sweater. Again with the 3/4-length sleeves for the in-between weather. I tried on my yellow ballet flats with the sweater because my friend Grace suggested pairing them with orange or coral. Initially I couldn’t see it, but when I tried it on, I discovered I really liked the combination of these two bright colors.
I’m wearing earrings and necklace from Studio Jewel and a green and coral bracelet that was a gift from JanMary Designs.
Day 3
This is the outfit I wore into Philly on Friday, the night before the Type A Advanced conference. I just threw on my faithful red skinnies and this black top because I knew I’d just be hanging out and going out to eat. My friend Kelly snapped this picture on my iPhone on our way to dinner.
Day 4
I liked the coral/yellow combo so much that I tried it again on Saturday at the conference.
This Double Bead Cardigan in Pomegranate from Banana Republic is really cute, and I got a ton of compliments on it. I chose to wear my darker, dressier jeans since I was going to be presenting.
Once again, I wore my circle necklace and earrings from Studio Jewel. And I totally airbrushed this close-up with PicMonkey. It’s kind of addicting, that program. To think I looked this young once . . .
Thanks to my conference roomie Sherry for taking all these photos of my outfit!! I wish she lived next door!
Here’s a shot of Amy and me before our Pinterest presentation. It went really well, and I was so honored to be c0-speaking with one of my blogging heros.
Day 5
I wore this outfit to church on Sunday. Yes, I said church. I don’t usually dress this casually for church, but I knew I’d be spending the entire morning in the nursery so I didn’t bother to get too gussied up. This orange and pink striped peasant tee is a recent LOFT purchase, but it was too cold to wear it without a sweater so I pulled out this old hooded cardi because it’s almost the same pink that is in the shirt. These are my oldest and most loved jeans. They’re really a size too small but I still squeeze into them sometimes because I love the straight-leg style and the casual wash.
Day 6
Finally, in the interest of keeping it real, I took this picture on Monday.
I had to make an emergency endodontist appointment because the temporary filling from my root canal last week fell out over the weekend and I was in extreme pain. I actually went to the appointment in my running clothes (it was shower or run; I didn’t have time to do both before my appointment, and I chose to log 4 miles and go in all my sweaty glory to see the doctor.) I came home and showered and decided there was no reason to get all dressed up to sit at home all day when I’d already been seen at my worst, so I put on my favorite yoga pants and this red half-zip.
My tooth was STILL hurting on Tuesday and I actually wore the same outfit again for yet another appointment with my friendly endodontist.
And yes, those are slippers. So sue me.

I’m linking up with:
I love your bright colors! No Spring here either in northern Ohio. One day is in the 80s, and the next in the 40s with snow showers. Ugh! I never know how to dress.
I LOVE that cardigan from Banana Republic. How adorable!
I’ve been trying to get more use out of my (thrift store) bright orange patent-snakeskin flats this spring. I really like them with hot pink on top! Orange is a neutral, right? 😉
I think it is now! 🙂
Okay, one: you are beautiful!! You look so gorgeous in all of those outfits! And two: I love all of the fun, spring colors!
Why, thank you!!! I’m enjoying my spring wardrobe, and today it even feels like spring. YAY!
Really enjoy following your blog; you have great style. My favorite from this post is that Banana Republic sweater and I love how you creatively matched it with the neon yellow shoes.
Really like the fact you embrace colour. Me too!
So inspired by your cute day 5 t-shirt, I looked up LOFT on the net and discovered they ship to Australia! So I have ordered one! Looking forward to receiving in 6-10 working days…..
Right away I am ready to do my breakfast, afterward having my breakfast coming
