Happy Monday, friends! It’s time for another Fall Color Crush, and today we’re crushing on Polar Night. This is one of the Core Classics from the Pantone USA Fall/Winter 2022/2023 Fashion Color Trend Report.
one // two // three // four // five // six // seven // eight // nine // ten // eleven // twelve // thirteen // fourteen // fifteen
I’m noticing this color gaining popularity at a lot of the mainstream retailers where we shop, and this is how Pantone describes it:
A cosmically inspired blue hue, Polar Night explores the mysteries of new horizons.
Because this is a neutral color, it’s highly versatile and goes with just about anything. I particularly like to pair this deep blue with neutrals such as ivory, camel, taupe, and cognac for a sophisticated neutral palette. It also looks great with teal and jade green as well as burgundy and lighter shades of pink.
It’s also a very deep tone, so wherever you wear it will cause that part of the body to recede. So if you have a pear body shape and carry more weight on the bottom, this is a good color to wear in pants or skirts and pair with a brighter/lighter color on top.
Conversely, if you tend to carry more weight on the top (inverted triangle or apple body types) you may want to wear this color on top in the form of blouses, t-shirts, or jackets. Or you can wear this color in a print with other flattering colors if you don’t like it as a solid.
I rounded up a bunch of shopping inspiration for you in this color, and I also wanted to call your attention to a few really good sales.
The LOFT Cyber Fall Sale has everything 50% off PLUS free shipping with code CYBER. Gap Factory has some online mystery deals up to 50% off, and you can save an extra 15% off your order with code GFSAVING.

Another gorgeous fall color! Our weather has taken a dive with cooler days so I’m finally ready to embrace the season change ! I’ve not heard of Birdie’s before🤷♀️I hope you’ll share once your order arrives!
What a great color! I appreciate you sharing items from various price points in this fall color for those of us that want to add it to our closet. I am in agreement with you regarding it being a color that the majority of us can wear. Have a great day!
Is there a place on your blog to find the links from the email. The links in the email aren’t working for me and I wanted to check out some of the daily finds.
I like this color. I like it with cognac shoes if wearing on top. I haven’t heard of Birdies. They are cute. I really appreciate you giving us heads up on the sales of things you have styled. I’m still looking at that floral tee from LOFT and the floral boho style blouse. I just love the colors. I knew LOFT would be coming up with a better sale soon. I like the 50% off and no shipping. Their shipping is high, so now is the time to buy for sure. Thanks again for all your research.
I’m excited to see Loft’s 50% off sale with free shipping! I ordered this top, which I saw in the store recently. The color is so pretty in person, perfect for fall, and it’s very well made.
I also recommend this flutter sleeve top as a transition piece. It’s a beautiful shade of red, with nice details. I bought it a few weeks ago.
Thanks for the recommendations! 🙂
LOVE this color! We are not-so-patiently waiting for fall here in the Deep South. We had a few days last week that dipped into the upper 60’s with highs in the mid-80’s and we were all in Heaven, lol! This week we are back in the upper 90’s with highs of 100° Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. 😫
Yeah, I imagine you still have a while! We are getting down into the 40s this weekend, so it looks like fall is well on its way here in Philly.
