Fashion Over 40 | Daily Mom Style 07.02.14

I know it’s cliche, but I just can’t believe it’s July. I feel like summer is already flying by, and I don’t like it. I’m super excited for our beach trip next week, though. I was out late last night for my birthday (hello, 42!) so I’m going to try to keep my commentary short and sweet. I KNOW, good luck with that!!

I wore this to go shopping with a girlfriend. I wanted to be comfortable, and this skirt has sort of a built-in shapewear. It really helps smooth out the waist area, so I got brave and wore it with a tank top.

The main goal of the outfit was to showcase my newest Stella & Dot –a disc necklace from their new Engravables, the Rebel Pendent (always a fave) and my new Renegade Cluster bracelet, a piece that I’ve been wanting for two years, ever since I saw my fabulous fashion-forward friend Alyson wearing it when I met her on the very first Target Inner Circle press trip.

I wore my Reefs wedge flip flops for comfort, and because I like the casual vibe with the maxi skirt and tank.

This is what I wore to my daughter’s piano recital one hot evening last weekend. I pulled out my coral blouse from Stitch Fix and the necklace that came with it, and paired it with my faithful white jeans.

The tri-tone bangles are from C. Wonder, and I painted my nails with Essie Lilacism just before we left the house.

I used the opportunity to debut my new Toms chambray wedge sandals. Aren’t they adorable? I love how they play off the white and coral.

This was just a casual day at home. Just a simple black tank and cuffed jean shorts. Easy. Casual. Comfy. And again, my engravables disc necklace makes an appearance. I love it. Goes with everything!

This is what I wore out to eat last night for my birthday dinner with the fam. I picked this dress up at C. Wonder when I was at the mall earlier in the week. I’ve been wanting more casual dresses for summer, but I’m not sure this is flattering. I’m a bit disappointed, truth be told. It’s comfy tho!

The necklace is so very old I can’t even remember where I got it. The red purse is a fun pop of color against the black and white, and the white sandals are my summertime faves, although I had to walk very gingerly since they have zero support for my finicky feet!

And this was yet another casual day at home. Sorry, way too many black tanks this week! I do this. I get in a certain mood and I seem to gravitate to the same thing over and over and I don’t even realize it till I go to post my outfits and there is no variety! OOOOPS! But again, this is real life, and I think a lot of us do this in real life, yes? I did as at least accessorize differently. Ha! Love, love, LOVE the Avalon tote from Stella & Dot. By far my favorite S&D purchase yet!
