Welcome back to my weekly post where I share what I wore this week and link up with other fashion bloggers around the web! I hope this gives you some ideas for shopping your closet and helps you feel put together during these dog days of summer.
Today we’re headed to Cooperstown, NY. If all goes as planned, we’ll be in Maine on Friday, where we will stay for a couple of weeks for our annual family vacation. We decided to take a detour on the way up so we could take our 15-year-old son to the Baseball Hall of Fame. We are also stopping over in Vermont before making our way to my family’s lake house in Maine. I’m looking forward to being off the grid for a few weeks. Okay, maybe not off the grid… I never unplug completely, it will be soooo nice not to have any work obligations while we’re gone.
Meanwhile . . . don’t forget about the HUGE Nordstrom Anniversary Sale going on right now! Fall 2015 styles are on sale for a limited time, so this is a great time to update your fall wardrobe. Last week, I gave you the insider scoop and shared my best picks for shopping the sale. If you’re not a card holder, the sale opens to the public this Friday.
So here’s what I wore this week. I was inspired to create this outfit from one I saw on Instagram. I love the combination of grey and white in the summertime. I wore this outfit to meet a friend for coffee.
Outfit Details: grey pocket tee (cheaper option) // white jeans (cheaper option) // white sandals (similar here and here) // coral bag (similar) // beaded necklace // gold bracelet (similar) // Tory Burch FitBit Bracelet // sunnies
I picked up this striped top at Old Navy because I love the color palette. It’s not the most flattering top I own, for sure, but it’s nice for casual summer days working from home. I paired it with my denim Bermuda shorts, and I wore my white and gold Orthaheels and carried my Lexi Bucket Bag. For other options, the fall colors are NOW ON SALE for Nordstrom card holders. If you’re not a card holder, the sale opens to the public on Friday.
Outfit Details: striped top // denim Bermuda shorts (similar here and here) // Vionic Lizbeth Sandals // Lexi Bucket Bag in Cuoio (Lexi Bucket Bag in Cuoio on sale at Nordstrom) // Tory Burch FitBit Bracelet // Alex and Ani Bangles // engravable disc necklace
This is a total shop-your-closet outfit. Everything except the shoes is at least 5 years old. You know how some pieces are workhorses in your wardrobe. This tank, skirt, and striped bag are all incredibly versatile, and I never tire of them. I wore this outfit to church on Sunday and then to our church picnic and finally to a friend’s birthday gathering.
Outfit Details: orange tank (similar) // cargo skirt (similar and here) // striped tote (similar) // bracelet // gold hoops (similar) // 3-disc necklace via Stitch Fix // Tory Burch FitBit Bracelet // sunnies // sandals
For a casual day at home, I wore my red burnout graphic tee, this time with my denim Bermuda shorts. I think I like it better with the jeans from last week, but some summer days are too hot for jeans. This tee is comfortable and easy to wear, and I find myself grabbing it at least twice a week.
Outfit Details: red burnout graphic tee // denim Bermuda shorts (similar here and here) // earrings (similar) // bracelet // watch // crossbody bag // Vionic Adelie Sandals
I wore this to go out to dinner with some girlfriends on Monday night. I feel bad showing this top again because it’s sold out, and I can see so many people clicking over to check it out. It went fast!! It’s a great little going-out summer top. If you’re looking for something similar, this embellished medallion tank is a cute option. Or maybe this embellished linen tee? I decided to dress it down this time with mid-wash jeans and my platform wedge sandals. I kept the ivory and gold theme and carried my metallic straw clutch.
Outfit Details: embellished tank (similar) // AG The Stilt jeans (similar and here ON SALE!) // metallic clutch // gold platform wedge sandals // Tory Burch FitBit Bracelet
And that’s a wrap!

So cute in all of these. Your hair looks really pretty.
Enjoy Vermont!!!! There is a ton to do and see here. What part of Vermont will you be visiting?
We were in Manchester, but only briefly. We really wanted to stay longer. Next time!!
You are adorable! I love your slightly “edgy,” yet put-together looks, like that graphic tee outfit 🙂 xoxo
