I know I said last Wednesday that it was my last Daily Mom Style post for a while, but I thought I’d throw up one final post today with the last of my summer outfits.
There’s nothing really new or exciting here, but I know most of us are in the same boat — shopping our closets, getting a little tired of the same old things, and biding our time till we can put fall outfits together, so hopefully this will give you a little end-of-summer fashion inspiration.
Even though I’m starting my fall fashion series tomorrow, I’ll still be wearing summer clothes for a while longer. I still pretty much abide by the Labor Day rule — I’ll put away my summeriest summer clothes next week and then slowly transition over to my fall wardrobe throughout the month of September.
I wore this outfit last week to run a few mundane errands and shuttle the kids to and fro.
I usually wear more body-conscious tops with skirts, but I tried doing the front tuck thing with this twist trim tank top and my jean skirt. I think it worked okay. I am too short-waisted to tuck it in all around, and it looked sloppy left untucked, so this is what I ended up with.
I wore gold accessories and my Brisa Sandals that were gifted from The Walking Company earlier this summer. I guess I should have taken the time to iron my skirt. These are the things I notice when I upload my outfit pictures!
And because sometimes y’all ask to see the back of my outfits, this is how the “front tuck” worked from behind. also, that is what I’m doing with my hair when it’s pulled back. Just a simple pinch clip. I’m not that good with hair, but I like having an option besides wearing it down, and it’s too short for a ponytail at the moment.

Mini Crossbody | Arabesque Chandeliers | S&D Signature Engravable Disk Necklace | long pendant necklace via Stitch Fix | Alex and Ani bangles | Michael Kors Chain Bracelet Watch | sunnies
Another day last week, I paired my green slouchy linen tee with my white boyfriend shorts (similar). I’m liking the trend of more relaxed tops. This one is great because the shape doesn’t lend itself to tucking in, so there’s no fussing with it. Just throw it on and go!
I wore my Tory Burch Miller sandals basically just because I can. LOL!! It’s such a relief not to need super supportive shoes all the time. I wouldn’t wear these if I had to do a lot of walking, but they’re fine for quick errands. Payless has a knock-off, if you’re interested in a cheaper option.
Gold jewelry, and done! As you can see, Nordstrom replaced my broken FitBit bracelet. Hooray!

This is a super casual outfit — cutoff jean shorts and a graphic tee with my pink Pumas. Easy and cute! I do feel a little old to be wearing such short shorts, and to be honest, they’re getting small. They’re a size smaller than most of my current clothes. I bought them the summer I was training for my half marathon. I might replace them next year with a more relaxed “boyfriend” style like my white ones above.
I went with silver accessories and my grey Mini MAC crossbody.

This is what I wore Saturday. I had to make a trip to the mall to pick up my new glasses, so I paired my olive cargo pants with this striped tee. This really looks more like fall than summer. I think preparing for my 26 days of fall fashion is affecting my daily outfit choices!
I did the front tuck with my shirt and added a brown belt. Then I went with simple gold jewelry. I wore my gold espadrille flats and carried this cognac bag to bring another color into the mix.
These are my new glasses! I can’t decide if I like them as well as my old ones or not. I think they need to sit up a bit higher on my face, so I’m going to go back in and have them adjusted. They’re also progressive lenses. YIKES! So far, I’m adjusting okay. They also gave me contacts, but that eye that I scratched is still feeling irritated, so they advised I stick with glasses for a few days.
Here’s my “fashion blogger pose” — looking off into the distance. LOL!! I was actually distracted by my dog when my husband shot this one, but I think it’s sort of cute.

For church yesterday, I wore white jeans and a black top with my leopard wedge sandals.
I basically created this outfit around my Artisan Stretch Bracelets. I wanted to wear these, and I love them against black and white. I added my leopard wedges for fun, and I carried the light brown bag. I love mixing brown and black.

Tomorrow, Cyndi and I kick off our 26 Days of Fall Outfits series! We will each post a new fall outfit each day for the month of September (except Sundays) AND we have a fun giveaway to celebrate!
In addition to that, we’ve started a Fall Fashion Facebook Group, where we can chat fall fashion and share outfit ideas. I hope you’ll join us!
Be sure to check back tomorrow for all the deets. Or better yet, sign up to receive my daily emails with links to my latest blog post(s) and you’ll never miss a thing.
Cute outfits . I’m looking forward to the fall series . I never realized it until you pointed it out but you don’t do the typical “blogger poses “and it’s so refreshing !
Oh, thanks! I’ve tried, but I always feel ridiculous. I was doing these pictures before there were “fashion bloggers” doing it – that I was aware of, anyway. My shtick has always been to keep it real. I guess I should keep doing what works, right? 🙂
Loved the Jean shorts, t-shirt and, Pumas the best!! They r not too short! Glad to hear u r running again.
thanks, Diana!
Love the new glasses…although I enjoy seeing your summer fashions, I’m looking forward to your fall fashion posts!
You look really cute in glasses. I wear them, but unfortunately I don’t think I look cute 🙁
I have a hard time finding the right ones for my face shape (square).
It is hard. I still think I like my last ones better than these. I’m not sure… I prefer my contacts. I wish my eye would clear up so I can wear them again.
Totally in love with the gold flats!
I enjoy your posts and thank you for inspiration.
Thanks, Tammy!
Hi!
I think your glasses look great, especially with hte outfit you wore to church.
Question: I’ll be wearing a black dress with some white leaves printed on it, and a medium-blue chunky necklace. The dress is pretty much a boat-neck sheath dress. What color should I paint my nails? Would that trendy pastel orangey color work? Or just stick with a pink/red? My shoes will be black flats.
Thanks!
Sara
Hey Sara! Thanks. I think you can wear anything. The orange would be fun!
Fun looks! I really like those purple shoes!!

Very cute! You look put together, but still comfy and cool. Love it!
That’s my goal! LOL. Thank you. 🙂
Hi Jo-Lynne,
When I click on your Fall Fashion Facebook group link, it doesn’t work. I’d love to join! Which group name should I search?
Thank you!
Tell me if this works: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1642462965995704/
Sadly it doesn’t, I keep getting this message: The page you requested cannot be displayed right now. It may be temporarily unavailable, the link you clicked on may have expired, or you may not have permission to view this page.
Thank you kindly! It must be a glitch on my end.
Gotcha. That’s what I was afraid of. We made it “Secret” so it wasn’t visible in Facebook searches and wouldn’t come up as a suggested group, so we don’t get any crazies in there (haha) but now it looks like people can’t request to join if I give them the link. I think the only way to add people now is for someone in the group to be FB friends and add the person that way.
Cyndi and I will discuss and figure this out! We definitely want people to be able to join. 🙂
