Holiday Gifting with Nordstrom

Now that the leftover turkey has been put away and the pumpkin pie consumed, who is shopping the Black Friday sales today?

Are you an in-store shopper or an online shopper? I’m definitely the latter. #nocrowdsforme

Fortunately most retailers are running the same amazing sales online as they are in stores, so grab a cup of java and let your fingers do the shopping!

Today’s post is brought to you by Nordstrom — your one-stop shop for holiday dressing and gifting for the family. If that sounds overwhelming, never fear! I’m happy to be your guide. I’m a bit of a shopping ninja when it comes to Nordstrom, and right now you can save up to 60% throughout the store during Nordstrom’s The Score sale, running from 11/21-11/26!

While it can be overwhelming, I don’t know of any other retailer that offers their variety and selection, and their customer service can’t be beat. Naturally, their deals this weekend are amazing, so first I’ve got a couple outfits comprised of some great gift ideas at amazing prices, and then I’m sharing some of my favorite gift ideas across all departments.

LOOK #1: All Bundled Up in Camel & Burgundy

Outfit Details:

Sanctuary shaker sweater //This flattering v-neck sweater has a comfortable relaxed fit with side slits, and it can be worn alone or with a chunky scarf. It’s also on sale for $49. It runs true to size; I’m wearing the small.

Joe’s Icon skinny jeans // These ankle length skinny jeans have a classic mid-indigo wash and great fit and recovery, and they’re on sale for just under $100. They run small; so size up if in between.

Blondo waterproof leather booties // I bought these for my daughter a few weeks ago because she has finicky feet, and I wanted to be sure she’s wearing good quality shoes. She’s been pretty much living in them ever since. They have a comfortable 2″ heel, and they’re waterproof so they hold up to all kinds of winter weather. If cognac isn’t for you (or, ahem, the woman on your gift list), they also come in black and slate blue.

Ralph Lauren reefer coat // This wool blend reefer coat is a classic that will last many years. It also comes in grey, black, burgundy, and navy. It runs a bit large, so you may want to size down from your normal dress size. I have the 6.

BP. reversible houndstooth scarf // Scarves make great gifts, and this one is so good with the dueling houndstooth and grid patterns. I was bummed to find it sold out, but I rounded up some other solid picks in the shopping widgets below.

Look #2: Cozy Chic Grandpa Cardigan

Also in grey…

Outfit Details:

Dreamers Grandpa Cardigan // This cozy menswear-inspired cardigan is perfect for wrapping up in on cold winter days. It comes in grey and pink, and I couldn’t decide which was better so I decided to feature both. At just under $50, this sweater makes a nice gift a woman who likes to be comfortable and on trend.

Paige Verdugo crop skinny jeans // I’m a huge fan of this style of jean, and I was immediately smitten with this light wash cropped pair. They’re incredibly soft and feel like you’ve and them for years. They’re 40% off, and they run true to size for Paige. I wear a 29, for reference.

Caslon long sleeve crewneck tee // This tee is a closet basic that no woman should be without. Hands down, the best layering tee for under cardigans in the winter. It also makes a nice thin layer under a pullover sweater when you need extra warmth.

Sarto Seville Booties // Loving the low heel and lower shaft on these updated Chelsea boots. They also come in black leather and brown suede, and they’re on sale for under $100.

Halogen disc necklace // A pretty pendant that makes a great focal point with cardigans or chunky sweaters. A nice teacher gift idea!

Halogen graduated tube hoop earrings // These trendy hoops make a statement without competing with the rest of your accessories.

Need more ideas? I’ve put together several highly curated gift guides for different types of people in your life, all from Nordstrom. With their free shipping and generous return policy, you don’t have to worry about things not working out. Even if you shop early, you’ll have plenty of time to take care of any returns/exchanges after the holidays.

  1. I sure hope Nordstrom gets the scarf back in stock and puts it on sale!  I want it for our granddaughter for Christmas 2019.  Reading that your whole family, including your mom, ran the race yesterday, made me say, WOW.  That is wonderful!  If I do any online shopping this weekend, it will be for 2019 gifts.  Have a wonderful day!

  2. Hi, sounds like you had a nice Thanksgiving! I’m wondering about cashmere sweaters. I know you did a cashmere post years ago but can’t find it. Is there a budget friendly brand you like? Or is it better to just splurge? I have a few from Halogen but don’t love the quality. Aqua from Bloomingdales looks a little better but I  would love your input!

    1. Hey Kasey. I think Halogen offers a really good value for the price, especially when they’re on sale as they are now. I have several of them, some going on 3 years, and they hold up well and are really soft and comfy. But I also splurge sometimes on designer brands like Equipment – https://shopstyle.it/l/VGSk – and Vince – https://shopstyle.it/l/VGU7. Also the Nordstrom Signature line does a really good job with cashmere – https://shopstyle.it/l/VGSH. It’s worth trying a few and comparing, especially at this time of year when the sales are so good!
