Holiday Party Dresses

Happy Friday, friends! Who has dressy winter events coming up? Okay, me either… ha! But I’ve had some requests for holiday party dresses, so some of you must have a more exciting social life than I do.

At any rate, today I’ve rounded up a bunch of festive frocks for your shopping inspiration. And if you’re like me, and your events are more casual this year, I’m working on a roundup of holiday party tops to dress up your jeans and pants, so stay tuned for that!

The dress I’m wearing here is c/o Evereve. I shared it in this Try-On Haul, if you want to see it styled with booties and a coated denim jacket. Today I went for a more classic look with metallic pumps.

I’m wearing the small, and it’s more forgiving than I expected for a body-con style. I really like how it skims the body without clinging, and the shimmering metallic threads throughout keep it festive. Plus, the midi length is very on trend at the moment.

For accessories, I wore statement earrings with shades of black and gold and a stack of beaded stretch bracelets. The gold clutch I’m carrying is old, but there are lots of similar styles available. This one in the soft gold is gorgeous, and I just got this one in the mail, and it’s a nice option too.

But this is just one dress, and it may not be for you or your occasion, so I rounded up a bunch of other options below. I did my best to find dresses that are well stocked, but inventory fluctuates daily so I can’t guarantee anything here. If you do see something you like, and it isn’t available in your size, keep an eye on it. It might come back around.

      1. Love the fishnet stockings for a party! Can you wear booties with non-opaque stockings like the fishnets, or does the look get too choppy? Thank you.

  1. I was also going to ask about what these gals are wearing on their legs. I am pretty sure not the drugstore ‘hose’ that came in the plastic egg! I always get confused on this…for a while it seems like we saw either bare skin or opaque tights. BUT I wanted to ask for a reminder on how to use your shopping links so you get the credit. Is it mobile devices that don’t recognize your blog referrals? THX!

    1. Hey Pam, I think the hose/tights thing also varies by region of the country. In the south, women don’t tend to wear them, but in the northeast, we sure do!

As far as links, I think it is only the store apps that don’t recognize my links. Shopping on mobile through a web browser works, tho. Thanks for thinking of me. 🙂

  2. Sadly, no dressy parties for me this year. I miss getting dressed up! We do have a few casual events to attend, though, so I’m looking forward to the the fancy tops post.

  3. Well, I am among those whose social life has been completely on hiatus for a while now!!! So, I am so looking forward to more casual shopping inspiration for holiday party tops to dress up jeans and pants. YAY!!!
And could you please show us how to pick stylish and COMFORTABLE holiday shoes that will go with the holiday party tops/jeans/pants?
I’m thinking while writing that maybe my question would be among the Saturday’s Q&A. For you to choose and decide 😉
    TIA💜

  4. I’m among the no dressing up. Looking forward to the dressy top options or just nice sweaters for going to my daughters Christmas this year. I have a question for the Saturday Q & A. Can you recommend a good pump heel pad to help take up the part in the heel that sticks out and a little big? I bought a pair of leopard pumps, perfect heel height etc. but then Nordstrom canceled my order of my regular size, (warehouse they said must have been out)so had to size up 1/2 size. I think I need the size up for in the toe box, but the heel is a little big. I haven’t worn a heel pad for years and thought maybe you had a recommendation before I try ordering with all the many amazon choices. 🙂 LOL Have a great day.

  5. So fun! Love those gold heels on you & hoping you will incorporate into your dressy looks for jeans?! Great earrings too!

  6. That looks gorgeous on you and, I love the goldtone accessories (more fun than black or red!). I wish, though, my under upper-arms were (ahemm…lol) in better shape like yours to wear sleeveless mock or scubaneck tops. My “dressy” holiday outfit (usually) revolves around: pairing a velour blazer over a satin cami top and velour leggings (with pumps like you’re wearing there — never heels, for me!: since I once fractured my foot as kid doing gymnastics and I find heels hours-on-end still aggravate what must be ageing bone spurs). Another thing is, too: I need my Spanx laser-cut bodyshaper before even ATTEMPTING to get ready for a holiday party! I definitely would like to lose about 20 pounds (being now a sz 12) but, unfortunately!, this is the hardest time of year to try it.

      1. So many great options. For nudes, I usually go with gobi the Individual 10 or Satin Touch 20 (if I want a little shimmer). Their Hayden is nice fishnet and I just bought a pair or Satin Opaque 50 in acai that I think have beautiful color and are amazingly comfortable. If you like playing with color, you can really have fun with them. I believe that you mentioned visiting your daughter in MA. Not sure where you go, but if you are near the Chestnut Hill Mall, they have a boutique there with greet service.
