July Favorites: Things I’m Loving Right Now

Happy hump day, friends! I’m back today with my July Favorites. This is a roundup of new finds and old favorites that I’m particularly loving right now.

I realized as I started writing this post that a few are duplicates from last month. Oooops! I guess I tend to gravitate to the same things over and over this time of year.

July Favorites 2021

For size reference, I’m 5’5″ and around 137 pounds, and I usually take a 6/28 in pants/jeans, a small in tops, and size 8 shoe.

#1. Madewell Story Set of 3 Layered Necklaces // These are an #NSale purchase, and I’m loving them right now. They’re super versatile and go with both dressy and casual looks, and you can separate them and wear different combinations. The medallion is reversible too, gold on one side and silver on the other.

I also really like these coordinating earrings, although I’m wearing the Kendra Scott split hoops in the picture above. (also wearing: Halogen tank)

#2. Athleta Pranayama Wrap // I got this cozy cardigan last summer, and it quickly became go-to for throwing on over pajamas in the mornings, or my workout tank to and from the gym. I was excited to bring it out again this summer. It comes in a bunch of colors, and it’s currently on sale.

#3. Chaser Canyon Raw Edge Tank // This is one of my favorite casual tanks to throw on with shorts or crop jeans this summer. I love the tie dye print, and the raw edges, and it’s very soft and comfy. (also wearing: Hudson shorts & Birks / Mother Insiders & Sam Edelman sandals)

#4. KUT From The Kloth Sophie Short // For whatever reason, I find myself gravitating to longer shorts these days, and these denim Bermudas are really comfortable. I like the faded wash with the subtle rips and distress marks, as well as the raw hem.

I do like to cuff mine to make them a little shorter, but they’re not sewn up like this, so you can wear them either way. (also wearing: Free People camo tee & Birk Mayari / Sanctuary dolman pullover & Freedom Moses slides)

#5. Chaser Linen French Terry Sweatshirt Tee // Chaser really knows how to nail that ultra-casual, slightly luxe vibe. This little sweatshirt tee is really cute and pairs well with shorts or jeans. It’s not as heavy as it sounds, and I’ve been reaching for it a lot lately. It’s a nice alternative to a plain grey t-shirt.

#6. Clare Vivier Simple Tote // This tote was an #NSale purchase, and I’ve already started using it. It’s a lot more versatile than it may seem. As of right now (Tuesday at 5PM) it is still in stock. Crossing my fingers it stays in stock until tomorrow!!! (also wearing: LOFT linen tee, Paige joggers & Frame sandals)

#7. OPI Funny Bunny // I like to include a current nail color fave in these lists, and I just discovered this gorgeous sheer white. It’s not so sheer that your nail bed shows through, but it’s not a stark Wite-Out white either. I’m wearing it in the picture above. (also wearing: Victoria Emerson Coastal Cheryl Cuff & Talbots sweater)

#8. Level 99 Lara Utility Pant (also in green) // I’ve been reaching for these soft utility joggers on casual days when I don’t feel like wearing jeans because they still look cute and put together, but they’re super comfortable. And now they’re finally on sale! Since I already have the Paige Mayslie joggers in green, I got this pair in black, but I also really like them in the green.

#9. Dolce Vita Lester Slide Sandal // These are just a fun, casual slide at a price that won’t break the bank. I love the pattern on the footbed, and they’re surprisingly comfortable to walk in. I actually wear them around the house a lot of days. They come in lots of other color options, as well. They’re true to size, or size up if in between.

#10. Frame Le Brentwood Flip Flops // And while we’re on the subject of shoes, these were an #NSale purchase, and they’re still in stock! I think these sandals are so chic, and the quality is fantastic.

I will warn you, though, I find them hard to walk in. Even though the leather is very soft and comfortable, the footbed is kind of heavy, and my bony/flat feet tend to slide around in them. I’ve heard others say differently, so I think they probably work better on thicker feet or higher arches. I’m still keeping them, though. I just don’t wear them when I’m doing a lot of walking.

#11. The Gown: A Novel of the Royal Wedding // Yes, I’m still working on this book! I promise, it’s a good one; I just haven’t had a lot of time to sit and read lately. When I do, I usually fall asleep. I think I made the most headway sitting in the ER with Paul in Maine. We were there for hours, and this novel was a lifesaver. Maybe I’ll get a chance to finish it up this weekend!

  1. Thank you for recommending The Gown! I loved it. Spent the weekend on the deck reading it, I couldn’t put it down. As a bridal seamstress, I was fascinated by it and loved the history too.

  2. I would be curious to know what the trending colors will be for fall. Also, accessories!!! Scarves, necklaces, etc.

  3. I would like to know what brand your cell phone case is with the finger loop. The finger loop looks much more user friendly than the pop out one I have. I like seeing that you too, have pieces that are on repeat. I like the tote, but am vacillating on whether or not I need it. As much as I like the black sandals you wear mostly at home, I definitely do not need to add one more pair of shoes to my closet. I don’t wear half of what I own, as it is. I hope you survived your workout appointment without too much pain.

    1. Ginger, It’s called Loopy and can be ordered online at loopy.com. Lots of colors for all sizes of phone. My daughter got me hooked on it, and it really makes me feel secure whole holding my phone (especially taking selfies!!)

  4. I love the black and white tank in the first picture that you are wearing with the Madewell necklaces. Can you provide the info on this tank?

  5. Can you please link the black and while sleeveless top you are wearing with the Madewell jewelry (#1)? Thanks so much!

  6. I can’t believe I’m asking this, but do you know where I can buy cute face masks? I’m returning to work in 3 weeks and mask mandates have been reinstated (ugh!) I didn’t have many to begin with since I worked from home online last year, so now I need to stock up. I could also use tips on how to wear them with reading glasses so my glasses don’t fog up. (I swear I feel like there is no “off ramp” from this pandemic.)

I really like those frame black sandals on you! I’m going to see if they’re still available.

    1. Oh, good grief. Trying very hard to keep my opinions to myself, but if you must wear one, I like the Slip silk masks. They’re all I wear – https://shopstyle.it/l/bwwg3

They can be hard to talk in at first, but after they are washed, they aren’t as soft and you don’t suck them in when you talk, lol. I have a few, and I hand wash them every few wears. They’ve held up great. I don’t use the metal nose pieces, I find them more comfortable without, but if you have glasses, you may need that to keep the breath from escaping and fogging up your glasses.

I’ve also heard good things about Athleta’s face masks, but I haven’t tried them: https://shopstyle.it/l/bwwg9

      1. I appreciate how honest and diplomatic you have been about mask wearing, but I take offense to “Oh, good grief.” I live in a place with low vaccination rates, and the Delta variant is sweeping through and wreaking havoc in our area. I greatly wish that leaders would bring back mask mandates until we can get numbers down again. My 7-year-old has been sick constantly this summer and was at the doctor yesterday getting a COVID test for a horrible cough that has not gone away (the test was negative thankfully). His pediatrician said the Delta variant was out of control, and she recommends mask wearing still. Please be mindful of the different areas your readers live in.

        1. People are free to have a different opinion. It shouldn’t offend you. Masks should be optional not mandated. Frankly I don’t think they even work. My daughter was in school with a student who wore a mask, face shield and Gloves and got Covid. It would be more helpful for people to consider there diet and lifestyle and make adjustments to boost their immune system.

    2. The best face masks I bought were from Beau Ties in Vermont. They fit well and have comfy nose wires and adjustable ear loops. You can also buy filters for added protection. Lots of fabrics to choose from, prints or solids. https://www.beautiesltd.com/collections/face-coverings I think glasses are going to fog up no matter what. My neighbor told that she rubbed something on the lenses of her glasses to help with the fogging. I’m sorry I can’t remember what that was; you might want to investigate that.

      1. Try OptiPlus Anti-fog Lens Wipes. They are pre-moistened lens wipes that are in individual packages you can carry with you. You can find small box of 30 wipes in the Optical Dept at Walmart. They work and cost is reasonable.

  7. Jo-Lynn,
I read “The Gown” a few years ago. I even had my book club read it. I LOVED it! Do finish it!

  8. Hi,

How do the Everve joggers run? Reviews are saying to size down. Did you find that to be true?

    Thank you

    1. They do fit a little big and seem like they’d stretch out but when I tried the size down, it was too tight through the legs. Looked and felt too much like leggings for my personal taste. So I went back to the 28 and they felt and looked fine, every after wearing all day. I hope that’s helpful. I’m usually a 28 and sometimes a 29. Verrrrry rarely a 27. I like the way these fit in a 28.

      1. Very Helpful! Thank you!
One more question. Did you keep the All Saints shoulder bag? You haven’t mentioned it in
any of your favs from the sale. Wondering if I should order it.

        Thank you

  9. I’m laughing because I too cannot read without falling asleep! It’s my favorite thing to do at bedtime! I’m excited to check out The Gown.

  10. I love that ring you are wearing in #1, I know I’ve seen the link before but now I can’t find it. Can you please link the info? Thanks!

  11. Jolynn I got the Clare V tote and love it! Thanks for the recommendation. I was wondering if you are treating yours with a suede protectant. I will inevitably spill coffee or water on it and raw suede will stain so easily. But will a protectant ruin the look of the bag?

  12. What size do you have in the Free People black camo top? Love the outfit with the bermudas and white birks. Finally used your link and ordered the birks from Zappos. Thanks a bunch!
