Loving Lately: Current Favorites in Fashion, Beauty & Home

When I was working on my Year In Review and looking back at posts and pictures from last year, I realized that somewhere along the way, I stopped doing my monthly favorites. I’m not sure how they fell off my radar, but I’m bringing them back!

Loving Lately January 2025: Current Favorites in Fashion, Beauty & Home

Loving Lately is a roundup of new finds and old favorites I’m enjoying right now—a little mix of fashion, beauty, and home, or any random thing that’s been bringing me joy lately. I hope you’ll discover a few new favorites to love, too!

Jo-Lynne’s January Favorites

Pottery Barn

Waffle Weave Resort Robe

This waffle weave robe with the cozy terry cloth lining was a holiday gift, and I'm enjoying it immensely! I wear it every morning after my shower while I'm getting ready, and it feels so luxurious.

Kristin Hannah

Kristin Hannah Collection 5 Books Set

This was also a Christmas gift—Kristin Hannah is one of my favorite authors, and this set includes 5 of her most popular books. I've already read two of them, and I'm really enjoying The Four Winds at the moment. I also highly recommend The Women, if you haven't read it.

Aritzia

The Super Puff Mid Coat

This Aritzia puffer was another Christmas gift, and I'm so excited to start wearing it. (My color is called Modern Taupe.) It's super comfy and warm (rated for up to -22°F with 700+ fill-power premium down) and water-proof (with seam sealed construction). I love the soft-brushed cuffs with thumbholes that keep warm air in and cold air out.

Laura Geller

Hydrate & Glow 4-Piece Collection with Bag

I just discovered the Laura Geller makeup brand, and I'm really enjoying this Hydrate & Glow 4-Piece set. It’s perfect for creating that hydrated, glowing look we all love! It's also on sale.

Caslon

Rib Turtleneck Sweater

Super soft and cozy ribbed turtleneck sweater with a versatile length and easy fit, and a great price too! It comes in a variety of colors and looks sleek untucked, but you can also front tuck it to highlight your waist.

Paige

Annika Kitten Heel Bootie

These splurge-worthy leather boots have a kitten heel and squared-off toe for an of-the-moment look that's easy to dress up or down. They're also incredibly comfortable for a 2" heel.

Evereve

Rowan Puffer Vest

This faux leather puffer vest is the perfect modern outfit topper. It provides just enough warmth and adds an edgy touch to my casual looks.

Marlyn Schiff

Beaded Coin Charm Necklace

A friend introduced me to this local jewelry brand, and I’m loving this pendant necklace. The mix of pyrite stones and the gold-plated coin adds the perfect balance of elegance and edge. It’s great for filling in a v-neckline and adds a subtle, edgy touch to my simpler outfits.

MOTHER

The Weekend Flare Jeans in Wanted!

My latest denim obsession—these jeans have the perfect flare silhouette with a clean hem in a meticulously faded dark grey wash. They're made of Mother's signature soft and stretchy denim that molds to the body and doesn't bag out, so flattering, and comfortable too!

Beautypeak

Arched Full Length Floor Mirror

I ordered this mirror after a friend recommended it. It's surprisingly good quality and looks nice, although it came with a film on it that only vinegar would remove. But now it's perfect! I love that I can move it around and take mirror selfies in different spots in my house, but it also comes with the hardware to hang on the wall, if that is your preference.

OPI

Nessa-ist Rose Nail Polish

The PERFECT red nail color and part of the OPI Wicked Collection. It has just a hint of pink, for a versatile shade of red that feels classic yet modern.

Kobobon

Candle Warmer Lamp

I discovered this candle warmer at my local spa, and I thought it was such a good idea, I ordered it on the spot. I've been using it for several months, and it's such a nice way to keep your home smelling nice without actually burning a candle. Also, your candles last a lot longer this way.

  1. Hi! The Aritzia super puff… how did you find sizing? I’ve been wanting to order the mid calf length one for the extra cold days and fall/winter sporting events. I don’t have an Aritzia nearby to try it on. We’re similar size. I was thinking of ordering the medium. How do you think it compares to the higher technical brands? I’ve had my eye on Arcteryx as well. Thank you!!

    1. The sizing is weird. I have tried on multiple of the Mid style – 2 trips to the mall, I tried S and M and felt like the S fit. Then the one that Paul ordered for me for Christmas was a small, and it was tight in the hips (also a different color than I wanted). I went back to the mall to return that, tried on the M, and it seemed quite roomy, but I figured that’s sort of the point, so I ordered a M in another color I didn’t really want b/c the Modern Taupe was sold out. Then it popped up online but only in the S so I ordered that, and it came in yesterday. It fits, but just barely. I don’t think it looks too small, and it isn’t feeling tight in the hips, but the sleeves when the thumbholes were on felt a tad snug/short. I just looked and there is ONE in the M in Modern Taupe, but it is back to full price. I got mine on sale. ARGH!!! So I am waiting for the other one to arrive in the M and then decide what to do. Does that help at all? Haha!

As far as the performance, it feels amazing on, and that stats on it are incredible. It has like every feature you would look for in a true winter coat. I feel like it’s a good investment for the price point, considering the price of Canada Goose and the like.

  2. Kristin Hannah is one of my favorites too. The Great Alone is one of the best books I’ve ever read!
I like these posts, thank you.

    1. I agree about Kristin Hannah. The Great Alone is a wonderful book. The Women and also The Four Winds. She’s one of my favorite authors as well. Ellylj

  3. Glad to see the Loving Lately segment is back. Also like the Splurge or Save segment under the Daily Finds. More of those, please! I received a beautiful candle warmer lamp for Christmas and I’m really enjoying it. It seems the candle is much more fragrant than actually burning it – not to mention safer, sans flame.

      1. As long as you have it turned on, it warms the candle, and it makes it quite fragrant. It gets melted and watery, so you have to be careful and not move it until it hardens again. Also, you can adjust the intensity of the light, so if you keep it on low, it isn’t as fragrant as when the light is turned on high, but you can let it go all day on low.

  4. Kristen Hanna has been one of my favorite authors for years now. Her books are so well researched and quite in depth. I had always assumed she was a lightweight romance novelist, but an older lady on an airplane highly recommended her, and after one book, I was hooked. I even got my husband to read The Great Alone, and he enjoyed it too.

  5. I have already ordered the Laura Geller set from QVC. I am going to order the candle burner light since I love to have a candle burning year round, especially in our guest bathroom. I bet you will get a lot of wear out of your new coat.

  6. I ordered my usual size 28 in the Mother: The Weekend Flare Jeans in Wanted! Returned as too tight. Ordered the 29 and the same. I have recently lost 12 lbs so I shouldn’t have to go up 2 sizes in this particular style. Frustrated.

  7. I’ve read the Nightengale but none of the others yet. Sounds like the Great Alone is the one to read from the comments. Did you ever try out the Kristin Harmel books I recommended? I really like her writing. Historical fiction. Start out with “The Book of Lost Names.”

I’m glad you are doing “What I’m Loving” again. Enjoy those. I also really enjoyed the 5 ways to wear(vest) post.

  8. PS……I just had to come back on to voice my opinion on candles. Ladies, unless you are burning CLEAN candles the others are so toxic to your health, whether burning or under the warmers. Just getting all fragrances out of your life is best. If you want to start, try using Branch Basics products. I love their products. I can’t have fragrances, so use these products and they send really good healthy informative emails to keep your house CLEAN. I use their cleaners, clothes soap, hand pump soap. Just a thought. Have a great day.

  9. I ordered the WHBM gray jeans on line as they offer the short length in regular sizes. I love that…33” inseam is super long on me, and petite size doesn’t fit me well. These jeans are the bomb! They fit great, are soft and I love the gray jeans trend. I’m so excited to wear them, thank you for the suggestion. I’m also going to try the OPI wicked polish at my next manicure. Great red for this time of year. I love the mirror and the lamp. Our son recently moved out and I’m refurbishing his room into a guest room. Theses two items will work great. Thank you for sharing what you’re loving lately.
