This week I’ve been lazy with the camera — mainly because I wore a lot of things that I’ve already showed you, and honestly, I get kind of sick of seeing myself plastered all over my blog. I decided that perhaps it’s a better idea to showcase a few looks that I particularly like than to take pictures every day.
So you know how I said I wanted a sweater poncho? And I haven’t seen exactly what I wanted?
Well.
I was at the mall on Saturday with my 8-year-old daughter (her choice for a mommy-and-me outing… the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, does it!??) and I happened to see a poncho in the display window at LOFT. We were in a hurry, and it really wasn’t MY day to shop anyway, but I KNEW it was The Poncho I’d been looking for.
So I unceremoniously drug my daughter inside the store and accosted a salesperson to tell me where to find the poncho. I grabbed my size, walked purposefully to the desk, plunked it down and dug in my purse for my bank card. In and out in 5 minutes, I was.
(I can do a lot of damage at the mall in an hour; just ask my husband. I keep trying to convince him that it’s a talent, but he’s not buying it. Hmmmm…)
I’ve worn my new poncho twice already.
On Sunday we went to church, and it was crisp and cold outside so I paired it with a black long-sleeved t-shirt and then I wore it with skinny jeans tucked into my gray UGGs. I wore my Studio Jewel Encircled Earrings because I still haven’t sent them back to Lisa for a thorough polishing, as procrastination is yet another one of my many hidden talents.
On Monday I spoke at the Be There Online Conference, and I wanted to dress it up a bit so I wore it with black fine-wale corduroy skinnies and my black Dansko Brinkley boots. It really doesn’t allow for much jewelry other than earrings, but I did wear my silver link bracelet. Oh and I got my favorite watch’s battery fixed so I was able to wear my red leather wristwatch, which complimented the red stripe in the poncho. Yes, I think about these things. And my nails too! On my way to the conference, I stopped into my favorite nail salon for a quick polish change. I picked this sparkly red called Wocka Wocka from OPI’s new Muppet Collection. How totally fun is that? (If I ever figure out how to take a proper nail polish photo, I’ll post pictures of that too!)
And that’s it for this week!

I like it!!!!! It looks really good with the black pants and boots.
Thanks! I like it better that way too. I probably never would have tried it, either, if I hadn’t wanted to dress it up more.
Cuuuuuuuuuuuute! Cute, cute, cute. You are so slender and you have just the right build for wearing a poncho like that. I love it. It dressed up quite nicely, too, I think!
I can’t figure out nail polish pictures, either. Not that I ever have my nails painted, but the pictures I see online look so tricky. Getting the color and lighting just right is a lot harder than it looks!
Yeah, I’ve tried, and I can’t get it right.
I think I need to buy that poncho.
Isn’t it adorable!? I would never have gone in the store if I hadn’t seen it in the window.
I think it looks much better with the black pants than with the jeans! You look fab in both pictures though. Stopping by from WIWW…
Yeah, I thought so too! And now I know. 🙂 Funny how you have to see things to be sure. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
Love that poncho! I wore one this week, too, but it’s very plain. (Surprise, surprise.)
Cute! I want to buy some polish from the Muppets line, I just need to remember to go to a store that will have it.
That poncho is super cute! I agree with the other commenters that it looks great with the black pants. Don’t you love when you find what you’ve been looking for?
SUPER cute!! I have been in the market for a poncho. They are just so warm and cozy looking!
Oh, that is super cute! And so cozy, too. Nice find!
I love to see your outfit pics. You have such amazing style and I love to see what you wear. Love, love the poncho.
It looks fabulous on you Jo-Lynne! I love the earth tones and the red stripe. Perfect addition for Fall. Even better that you didn’t have to agonize over it! I can do some pretty quick damage myself. It IS a skill if you ask me 🙂
