Spring Transition Outfit + President’s Weekend Sales
Greetings and salutations! Who’s happy it’s Friday, and even better, that it’s a 4-day weekend??? There are a ton of great sales going on in honor of President’s Day weekend so I’ve got a roundup of my favorites at the end of today’s post.
This is an outfit I wore earlier in the week — on Valentine’s Day, to be exact! This sweater is from LOFT, and it’s on sale this weekend. In fact, LOFT has 40% off all new arrivals (excluding Lou & Grey) and an additional 50% off sale styles with code HAPPY. And remember, they carry plus sizes now! (See all my LOFT Favorites!)
I immediately loved this sweater the first time I saw it. I typically steer clear of prints, but I thought this one was really fun, and I also love the button detail on the sleeves.
The fit is really nice; it sits close to the body without being clingy, and it’s a nice mid-weight cotton knit that’s perfect for this transition season.
My initial inclination was to pair this sweater with blue jeans or even grey, but I ended up wearing it with black jeans instead, and I really like the contrast of the red and white against the black. Either works, though.
It will also be nice with dark wash jeans for a refined look and with lighter washed jeans for a more casual vibe.
Also, let’s discuss this bag. I’ve been in the market for a classic black tote, and I’ve been looking at a ton of them. The leather on this one is really soft and luxe, and I like that it’s unlined, although I don’t love all the seams inside. It’s also rather heavy, but the rounded straps are comfortable on the shoulder, and it’s a great size for everyday.
A couple others I had my eye on are this structured leather tote by Cuyana (I’ve heard great things) and the signet tote from J.Crew (I’m also crushing on the Soft Blossom color for spring AND it’s 30% off!) So many great bags… so little time… ha!
We’ve been having some milder weather this week so I took the opportunity to wear my favorite mules. I wore these all over the mall on Wednesday, and I was very comfortable. Love these things.
I’m seriously thinking of adding the pink suede pair to my spring wardrobe… and I’m still thinking about the white ones. I wouldn’t do both white and pink, and the white are on sale… so maybe those! Actually, the white would work with this outfit.
I kept my accessories simple — oversized pearl earrings and my trusty silver link bracelet. There’s really nothing too special about this outfit. I mean, it’s a sweater, jeans, flats, and a tote, but I love the color combination, and this sweater really pops against the black.
I added my black leather jacket when I went to the mall later that day… I actually meant to take a couple of shots with the jacket and forgot. Ooops! A classic trench would also look really sharp with this outfit for a more refined vibe.
