Navy and white is such a classic combination for spring, you can’t go wrong with it. Add neutral sandals (or ballet flats, if it’s still cool where you are) and a bright green bag, and you have the perfect casual spring outfit.
This is a great vacation outfit, or just a nice girl-about-town summer look.
This is the Splendid Winward Stripe Dolman Sleeve Tee. It is $88, so it’s on the pricier side, but the fabric drapes beautifully, and it’s made in the USA.
I think it’s safe to say I have a bit of an obsession with the dolman sleeve. There is something about this style of shirt that is very forgiving if you carry any junk in the midsection and/or are well endowed.
This is my attempt at a serious look. Ha!
These jeans are the J.Brand Low Rise Crop Jeans in Demented White Distressed. If you don’t care for distressing, I recommend the Paige Verdugo Crop Skinny Jeans. If you’re looking for a lower price point, the Treasure&Bond Ankle Skinny Jeans are nice and thick, but you will want to size down. I needed a 28 in those, and I typically wear a 29.
I kept the sandals neutral. Wedge sandals would work just as well, but these nude patent Tory Burch Miller Sandals are casual and comfy. I’m working on a post with a roundup of gorgeous flat sandals at all price points, so stay tuned for that! Or shop neutral flat sandals at Nordstrom.
I added the green bag for a fun pop of color. I would typically think to carry pink or coral, or even red, so I love the unexpected addition of the kelly green. This bag is old, but I linked to a similar green bag below.
I accessorized with silver jewelry. I kept it simple with this Silpada Duomo Necklace, silver hoop earrings, and Alex and Ani bangles.
I love this outfit for casual summer days or vacation wear. I may even wear it on the plane on Thursday if it’s warm enough. The top is equally cute with dark denim and sneakers for a more casual look.

Hi Jolynne, how was sizing on the shirt?
I have a Medium. I was curious to see how a Small would look, but I think it is supposed to be drapey. At least it is on the model. 🙂
Your make up is spot on in this post. ????
Thank you!!!
Wow…that was so interesting. I read the title for your post, and when I looked at the picture—I was like, where’s the navy? I couldn’t see the stripes and I thought the shirt was a darker grey! Then in the close ups I could see the navy stripes!! Maybe it’s time for a new monitor?
I just got a dolmain sleeve shirt a couple months ago. My only dilemma is it seems hard to wear with layers since the under sleeves are bulky?

Haha, they are very thin stripes. 🙂 And I had to look at the tag to see if they were navy or black.
The material in this top is so soft and lightweight, layers aren’t a big deal. But I know what you mean — oftentimes that is an issue with a dolman sleeve.
You look simply stunning and so fresh in these pics. I think I read a while back you may have another make-up post in the pipe line? It’s so hot and humid where I am, so difficult for make-up, but I still try to make an effort (even if I have to use SPF 50 BB cream lol!)
I’m definitely ordering that t-shirt, it’s gorgeous.
Thanks, Aisling!! I do have a makeup post I’m working on. 🙂 It’s not hot here yet. My biggest issue is my eye shadow creasing in the summertime.
I too love dolman sleeves. Your whole look is ‘spot on’ in these photos Jo-Lynne. I like your approach to Monday’s being a chance to start a clean slate, instead of dreading another Monday.
I’m sure Thursday will get here too quickly for you & Cyndi!
Have a beautiful day!
Hi Jo-Lynne,
Love this outfit. I’m such a sucker for striped shirts! Love the pop of green! Do you take shots of your outfits everyday? When do you squeeze those in? The night before or in the morning before you post? I’m so impressed with how you keep up!!!
xx-S
I’m excited to see what outfits you’re packing for your big fashion bloggers conference! My friends and I call it “packing anxiety” every time we go on a trip. Never know exactly what to bring and fear we’ll bring the wrong things, yada yada. The worst thing is that one item that didn’t make the cut is the one item you wished you’d packed. I’m stressing just thinking about it!!! ????
BTW, super cute & casual outfit. Love the green bag!!
Have an amazing week everyone!!
Your white jeans look awesome on you, but I have a “personal” question. haha How do you hide any panty lines especially wearing tight, white jeans?
It’s a good question. 🙂 I detest panty lines, so I wait for these to go on sale and stock up. http://bit.ly/1UQucMB
Cute outfit! Love the green bag with it. I love green and navy together. I think you should try a small shirt. I’m not sure where you’re carrying any extra “junk”, but I think the shirt would look even better if it was smaller. You could definitely pull it off and I think it would just be even more flattering! Looks to me like you’re smaller than you give yourself credit for 🙂
Love the green bag!
Super cute outfit! Love your hair!
I had to come see whether you were really wearing navy–it’s so crazy that small stripes look like a solid color from a distance!! 🙂
LOL, I know, it didn’t really photograph true to navy, but in person, it even looks questionable. I had to look at the label to determine if it was supposed to be black or navy.
