Hi, friends! I’ve got a big round of spring try-ons to share today, and it’s a bit of a mixed bag. I’ve been ordering from several different retailers lately, and I’ve been gifted a few pieces as well, which has been a nice way to discover some new brands and retailers. So many great new spring styles are dropping right now, it’s like drinking from a water hose, ha! I didn’t even try to divide this batch by category or retailer—I’m just sharing everything in the order I tried it on.

There’s a little bit of everything in this batch: spring jackets, several pairs of jeans, some great basic tees, a few dresses, and even a couple of workout pieces. As always, I’m sharing my honest thoughts on fit, fabric, and whether each piece is worth keeping.
SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″, and lately it feels like sizing is all over the place, so fit notes really matter. I typically wear a small or medium in tops and dresses, but occasionally a large. I’m usually a 29–30 in jeans and pants, though sometimes a 31 works best depending on the brand and fit.
Okay, let’s get right to it!
Caslon Zip Pullover in Red Geranium
at Nordstrom (S) // PAIGE Anessa (31) // Dolce Vita Sariya Sneakers (8.5) // Stone Necklace (Ocean Sorbet)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Lightweight and ideal for all sorts of weekend adventures, this soft cotton-and-modal sweatshirt features a sporty quarter zipper and short dolman sleeves.
- Materials: 88% cotton, 12% modal
- Care: Machine wash, tumble dry
MY THOUGHTS: I love this little pullover. It’s the perfect beyond-basic sweatshirt for transitional weather, and it comes in several great colors. Sadly, the Red Geranium is selling out, but I also really like the navy and the light blue. There are even matching travel pants if you like a coordinated set.
I gave it a front tuck here and added a fun beaded necklace for a little extra style. It’s one of those easy pieces you can throw on with jeans, sneakers, or even shorts once the weather warms up.

Fit note: This runs big. I’m wearing the small and could probably even size down.
VERDICT: Keeping—love it!

Pilcro The Bennie Cotton Slub Crew-Neck Slim Tee
at Anthro (M) // Paige Anessa (31) // Dolce Vita Sariya Sneakers (8.5) // Stone Necklace (Ocean Sorbet)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Offered in a soft cotton-slub, the bestselling Bennie features a just-right crew neck, classic slim cut, and glowing reviews.
- Measurements: 23.25″ Long
- Materials: Cotton Slub
- Care: Machine wash
MY THOUGHTS: This is a great basic tee with a slightly more polished look than your typical casual t-shirt. The cotton slub fabric gives it a little texture, and I like the slim fit, but the length is a bit longer than I usually prefer. Still, it works well for a front tuck.

Fit note: I’m wearing the medium for a comfortable, not-too-fitted look.
VERDICT: I’m tempted to keep this one for when I want a more relaxed look, but since I have a few other white tees in this try-on, I’m still deciding.

Michael Stars Joyce 3/4 Button Sleeve Tee in Lacquer
c/o Michael Stars (M) // PAIGE Anessa (31) // Dolce Vita Sariya Sneakers (8.5) // Stone Necklace (Ocean Sorbet)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Joyce reimagines the Dot with delicate button detail at the sleeves. A classic silhouette, Joyce has a wide crewneck and 3/4 sleeves. This tee is a heavier weight cotton rib and washes well to keep its shape.
- Materials: 100% Cotton
- Care: Machine Wash Gentle Cycle / Tumble Dry Low
MY THOUGHTS: This is a great-quality top with a nice, classic fit. The 3/4 sleeves with the button detail elevate it just a bit and make it feel more polished than a basic tee.
VERDICT: It’s a nice shirt, but I’m not sure how often I’d reach for it. Still, I don’t have anything quite like it, so I may hold onto it for now.

Michael Jackie Crewneck Tee in White
at Michael Stars (M) // Paige Anessa (31) // Dolce Vita Sariya Sneakers (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: The cropped version of the Becca Tee, Jackie is a short sleeved, easy fitting crewneck with rolled hems at the sleeves and bottom hem.
- Materials: 100% Cotton
- Care: Machine Wash
MY THOUGHTS: This one is fun. I really like the raw hems and the boxy fit, and the fabric is soft and lightweight without being too sheer.
VERDICT: I hung it in my closet for now—I’ll see if I reach for it.

Michael Stars Mikaela Striped Pullover in Ivory Lacquer Stripe
c/o Michael Stars (M) // Madewell Jules (29) // Dolce Vita Sariya Sneakers (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Mikaela is the sweater you’ll want to wear everyday. A crew neckline, long bell sleeves, relaxed fit, and fun stripe pattern make this pullover one you’ll keep in your rotation for seasons to come. Pair with denim, shorts, or your favorite tailored pants for a pulled together look.
- Materials: 75% Cotton / 25% Nylon
- Care: Hand Wash Cold / Lay Flat To Dry
MY THOUGHTS: Now this one I love. It’s such a great weight and fabric for spring—when it’s still a little chilly but you don’t want to wear a big, heavy sweater. The stripe pattern and color combo feel like an instant classic, and I like the rolled hems and the subtle bell shape to the sleeves.

VERDICT: Definitely keeping this one.

Madewell The Jules Slim-Straight Jean in Atlin Wash
25% off at Madewell (29) // Michael Stars Mikaela (M) // Dolce Vita Sariya Sneakers (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Fitted through the hip and thigh with the holds-you-in feel of our Magic Pockets™ in front, these mid-rise jeans have a slim, straight leg and ankle-length inseam. Wear yours with a cozy sock and loafer combo.
- Measurements: 9 3/4″ rise, 14″ leg opening, 27 1/2″ inseam.
- Materials: 98% Regenagri® certified cotton/2% elastane.
- Care: Machine wash in cold water with like colors.
MY THOUGHTS: I’ve shown these jeans before, but I realized the size 30 was really bagging out on me. I hadn’t returned the 29 yet, so I pulled them back out to try again, and they do seem to fit. I was worried they were a little tight in the waist when I first tried them, but they seem fine now, and they do relax a bit with wear.
They’re also 25% off right now during the Madewell Insiders Event, so I wanted to be sure to show them again. I really like these for a slim straight ankle style.

VERDICT: Keeping the 29, and since I’ve already worn the 30, I’ll tuck those away for one of those days when I need a little extra breathing room—if you know what I mean.

Madewell The Ultimate Wide-Leg Jean in Airy Denim
25% off at Madewell (29) // Michael Stars Mimi Cropped Tee (M) // Franco Sarto Tinsley (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: The cut: an update to our best-selling Superwide collection, these high-rise jeans are fitted through the hip and thigh with a drawstring waist, just-perfect wide leg and full-length inseam. They’re perfect to wear everywhere, from work to dinner.
- Measurements: 11 1/4″ rise, 22 1/2″ leg opening, 31″ inseam.
- Materials: 61% cotton/39% TENCEL™ Lyocell.
- Care: Machine wash.
MY THOUGHTS: This is a new Madewell style for me, and I really like them. It’s their version of the popular “pajama jeans,” so they’re super soft and lightweight but still feel more like denim than sweatpants, which I appreciate. I love the tie waist, too.
VERDICT: Keeping these, too. The 29 is a tad snug, but I learned my lesson with the Jules—I’m going to give them a little time to loosen up.

Free People Nova Tee in High Risk Red
c/o Social Threads (M) // Madewell Wide-Leg Jeans (29) // Franco Sarto Tinsley (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Crew neckline, raised seaming for added texture, capped sleeves, soft heathered fabrication.
- Materials: 30% Organic Cotton, 25% Recycled Cotton, 25% Recycled Polyester, 20% Ecovero
- Length: 22.5 inches
MY THOUGHTS: I love this little sub tee. The raised seaming and cap sleeves give it that nice “beyond basic” feel, and the red is so striking. It also comes in several more colors at FreePeople.com.
VERDICT: Keeping!

Risen Dylan High Rise Barrel Uneven Hem Jeans
c/o Social Threads (30) // Free People Nova (M) // Crocs Miami Toe Loop Sandals (8)

PRODUCT DETAILS: It’s all about the details for these Risen Dylan High Rise Barrel Uneven Hem Jeans! Uneven hems are in and all eyes are on you in them. So grab a simple tee or sweater and let the compliments start flowing.
- Rise: 10 inches; Inseam: 26 inches
- 61% Cotton, 35% Polyester, 3% Rayon, 1% Spandex
- Machine wash cold, separately & inside out. Hang to dry.
MY THOUGHTS: These jeans are really fun if you’re looking for something a little trend-forward. Uneven hems, seaming details, and the barrel shape are all having a moment right now. They’re not quite as soft as some of the others I tried, but they do have good stretch, and I like the wash.

VERDICT: I like these and actually think they’re fairly flattering, but I’m not sure I can get on board with the seams. It just feels like a lot going on.

Risen Wren High Rise Barrel Jeans in Medium
c/o Social Threads (30) // Free People Nova (M) // Crocs Miami Toe Loop Sandals (8)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Every cool girl needs a pair of these. Introducing, our Risen Wren High Rise Barrel Jeans. From basic tees to blouses, these denim bottoms could never fail to elevate any outfit you throw at it.
- Rise: 12 inches; Inseam: 26 inches
- Materials: 93% Cotton 5% Polyester 2% Spandex
- Machine wash cold, inside out. Hang to dry.
MY THOUGHTS: These are more my speed. I like the subtle barrel shape, and they have a really nice wash. The rear pocket size and placement look good, too, and they have a comfortable high rise.

VERDICT: Leaning toward keeping these, but they’re very similar to the Citizens Miro, so I want to compare them and decide if I’d actually wear both.

Tommy Bahama Two Palms 3/4-Sleeve Linen Shift Dress in Black
c/o Tommy Bahama (M) – 25% off // Steve Madden Ariaa (8) – 20% off with BRIGHTSUN // Anthro bangles (Mauve/Gold)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Sophisticated ease finds timeless elegance in this relaxed linen dress silhouette, complete with season-spanning 3/4 sleeves and a chic collared neckline.
- Measurements: Back length: 36″ from shoulder to hem
- Materials: 100% linen.
- Care: Machine wash cold. Hang to dry. Do not dry clean.
MY THOUGHTS: I absolutely love this dress. I have the floral version that I wore in St. Lucia, and I think this solid black linen is so chic and sophisticated. I styled it with ivory strappy sandals to keep the look light, and added a fun stack of resin and gold bangles with raffia hoops.

VERDICT: Definitely keeping this one. It feels like one of those forever dresses that will work for so many occasions.

Tommy Bahama Islandscape Coastal Cabana Jersey Short Dress
at Tommy Bahama (8) // adidas Samba (8)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Our midweight cotton jersey creates an ultra-flattering, body-skimming drape that sets a new—and much more comfortable—standard for everyday dressing. Featuring a chic Johnny collar and short A-line cut, this preppy dress makes one-and-done ease even more charming.
- Measurements: Back length: 35″ from shoulder to hem
- Materials: 100% cotton.
- Care:Machine wash cold with like colors on gentle with mild detergent. Non-chlorine bleach. Tumble dry low. Remove promptly. Cool iron. Can dry clean.
MY THOUGHTS: This one is more casual and has a fun preppy vibe. The polo collar and stripes are both big trends this spring, so while it’s a classic you can wear for years, it also feels current. I paired it with my adidas Sambas to keep the look relaxed and sporty.

VERDICT: I’m not sure this one is quite my style, but it’s really cute and the quality is excellent.

Geri Sweatshirt in Porcelain
c/o Nation Los Angeles (M) // AGOLDE Cocktail (30) // adidas Samba (8)

PRODUCT DETAILS: The Geri Sweatshirt is relaxed and easy with a little something extra. 100% cotton French terry, boxy cropped fit, boat neck, and balloon sleeves for just the right volume.
- Length: 21 1/2″
- Fit: A straight fit, loose through the body (like a box), and meant to be short.
- Contents: 100% Cotton
- Machine washable. Air dry or dry on a low setting.
MY THOUGHTS: This is a really nice quality piece—another “elevated sweatshirt” that’s easy to throw on with jeans (or the matching sweatpants). I like this Porcelain color for spring, but it also comes in navy.
VERDICT: Keeping. This will be perfect for the transitional weather ahead.

Mikka Buttoned Tank in Night Sky
c/o Nation Los Angeles (M) // KUT Kelsey (10) // KAANAS Alayta Sandals

PRODUCT DETAILS: Smooth cotton jersey in a signature fit, with just a touch of gold hardware. Mikka is simple, thoughtful, and effortlessly put together.
- Length: 23″
- Fit: Slightly easy through the body, not fitted or oversized.
- Fabric: 100% Peruvian Cotton
- Care: Machine washable
MY THOUGHTS: I had a black top similar to this one a few years ago that I wore a lot, so I was eager to try this. I love the quality of the fabric and the gold buttons on the shoulder, but I think I’d prefer it a smidge shorter—and maybe a little boxier, too. Something about the proportions just felt a little awkward when I tried to style it.
VERDICT: I’m not sure I’ll reach for this one, as the fit feels a little off for me.

KUT from the Kloth Genevieve Denim Jacket
at Zappos (M) // All Saints Anna Tee (M) // KUT Kelsey (10) // similar Dolce Vita sandals (8)

PRODUCT DETAILS: This medium-wash denim jacket combines everyday style with exceptional comfort. The modern zip-front closure gives it a sleek update, while functional slant pockets add both practicality and edge. Perfect for layering, this jacket delivers a polished yet relaxed look.
- Measurements: High Point from Shoulder: 22
- Fabric: 73% Cotton, 24% Polyester, 2% Rayon, 1% Spandex
- Care: Machine wash cold inside out with like colors / Only non-chlorine bleach if needed / Tumble dry low or for better care, lay flat to dry / Warm iron if needed / Wash once before wearing.
MY THOUGHTS: This is a great little denim jacket for spring. It has a classic look, but the zip front and patch pockets give it a more modern vibe. It has just enough structure to look polished, and I also like the design details in the back, with the pleats and button tabs at the hem.

VERDICT: Keeping this one, for sure!

KUT Meg Wide Leg W Zipper Pocket in Gainful
c/o EVEREVE (8) // Faherty slub tank (S) // similar Dolce Vita sandals (8)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Front zipper pockets update the most-loved Meg wide leg pant by KUT From The Kloth, featuring a high-rise silhouette, ankle-length inseam, and back patch pockets.
- Front Rise: 11″; Inseam Length: 27″; Leg Opening: 23″
- Material: 91% Cotton, 7% Polyester, 2% Spandex Twill
- Care: Wash Cold, Tumble Dry Low, Do Not Bleach
MY THOUGHTS: I think these pants are really fun. I love black, and this feels like a great way to wear it in spring or summer without it feeling too dark or heavy. The zipper pocket details are fun and on trend.
VERDICT: I’m on the fence with these. I want to try styling them a few more ways and see how I feel. I’m not sure they’re the most flattering on me.

Quince Ultra-Form High-Rise Legging in Smokey Olive
at Quince (M/28) // Vuori hoodie (M) // Vuori Energy Top Long (M)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Perfect for yoga, low-impact exercises, and all-day wear, these are the luxe leggings you need in your life. Our Ultra-Form fabric is buttery soft with 4-way stretch and features quick-dry, moisture-wicking, and anti-microbial technology.
- Materials: 78% Nylon, 22% Spandex
- Quick-drying, moisture-wicking, anti-microbial, 4-way stretch
- Low level compression designed for low-impact workouts
- Hidden pocket inside waistband
- Machine wash cold, do not bleach, tumble dry low
MY THOUGHTS: I ordered some Quince activewear because several of you said it was really good. These leggings are designed for low-impact workouts like yoga or for everyday comfort. They’re very soft and comfortable, but they do bag a bit around the knees and ankles. I think I need a shorter length for sure.
VERDICT: I might try them again in the 25″ length.

Quince Power-Up High-Rise Training Legging
at Quince (M/28) // Vuori hoodie (M) // similar Zella tank // ON Cloud Sneakers

PRODUCT DETAILS: The Power-Up High-Rise Training Legging is designed for your most intense training sessions. The 4-way stretch allows for full range of motion, perfect for squats, jumps, and weight lifting. The drop-in waistband pocket provides convenient storage for personal items, and the internal adjustable waistband ensures a secure and comfortable fit.
- Materials: 77% recycled nylon, 23% spandex

- 4-way stretch
- Medium level compression designed for weight lifting, HIIT and training workouts
- Drop in waistband pocket to store personal items
- Adjustable interior infinity drawcord
- Machine wash on cold. Tumble dry low. Do not iron or dry clean.
MY THOUGHTS: These leggings have more compression and are designed for weight lifting, HIIT, and training workouts. I really like this pair. They don’t get baggy and have a really nice high rise that stays put. They hold you in but aren’t as tight as my SPANX pair, which I appreciate. A really nice lower-priced alternative.
VERDICT: Definitely keeping; I’ve already worn them a few times.

Wit & Wisdom Skyrise Patch Pocket Shorts in Black
at Nordstrom (M) // Free People tank (L) // Kaanas sandals (8)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Deep pockets lend utilitarian style to these high-rise shorts that are a perfect addition to warm-weather ensembles.
- 5″ inseam; 24″ leg opening; 11″ front rise; 16 1/2″ back rise
- Elastic waist; Front welt-patch pockets
- 48% polyester, 46% rayon, 4% spandex, 2% other fibers
- Machine wash, tumble dry
MY THOUGHTS: I really like these shorts. They come in four good neutral colors (you can see the details better in the lighter colors online). They’re comfortable, easy to wear, and fairly flattering for elastic-waist shorts—not too voluminous and they don’t create visual bulk at the waistband. The length is nice too, not too long or too short.

They also feel a little more elevated than twill or denim and won’t wrinkle like linen, which makes them a really nice option for summer.
VERDICT: Keeping! I almost brought them to St. Lucia, but I opted for the olive ones instead, so I could wear with the black tank.

KUT from the Kloth Holly Skirt
at EVEREVE (10) // Free People tank (L) // Sam Edelman Bambi slides (8)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Add to your summer denim collection with the Holly Skirt by Kut from the Kloth, featuring a drawstring waist with a zip fly, a light blue wash, and front seam detail.
- Drawstring Waist, Zip Fly
- Skirt Length: 17″
- Material: 99% Cotton, 1% Spandex Denim
- Care: Machine Wash,Wash Cold,Tumble Dry Low
MY THOUGHTS: I was so happy to see they brought this skirt back this year! It was one of my favorites from last summer and even made my Best Purchases of 2025. When I pulled my size 8 from last year out of storage, it was prettttty snug, so I ordered the 10 this time. I really like the fit of this one—very comfortable.

VERDICT: Definitely keeping. I can’t wait to wear it again!

Michael Stars Jinny Muscle Tank in Olive
at EVEREVE (M) // AYR The Ray (30S) // Dolce Vita Alenna (8.5) // Jenny Bird earrings // pebble pendant

PRODUCT DETAILS: Perfect for layering or wearing alone, the Jinny Top by Michael Stars features a crew neckline, muscle sleeves, and a comfortable rib knit fabric.
- Length from Shoulder to Hem: 21 1/2″
- Material: 61% Cotton, 37% Viscose, 2% Spandex Knit
- Care: Machine Wash, Wash Cold, Dry Flat
MY THOUGHTS: I absolutely love this top. It’s very similar to the mock-neck Nara that I have and love, and this one also comes in black and beige (I picked up the black, too). It’s just a perfect top for wearing on its own or layering—such an easy fit, and the length is great for wearing untucked or with a small front tuck when you want to show a belt.

VERDICT: Keeping this one—and the black, too.

AYR The Ray in Sophomore
c/o AYR (30S) // AYR Smile (M) // Dolce Vita Alenna (8.5) // Jenny Bird earrings // pebble pendant

PRODUCT DETAILS: Meet the modern flare-leg jean. Same fit through the waist, bum and hips as our cult classic jean, The Secret Sauce (a favorite of Vogue, The Cut, The New York Times…) Loose and easy through the knee, with bumped-out leg opening. You’ll feel as comfortable as you do snatched.
- Front Rise: 10 1/2″; Leg Opening: 20 1/4″; Waist Circumference: 30″
- 81% Cotton / 14% Lyocell / 3% Elastomultiester / 2% Elastane
- Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colors, do not bleach, line dry.
- Made in California
MY THOUGHTS: AYR denim has been on my radar for quite a while. I’ve tried the brand in the past but never found a pair I loved enough to keep. Lately, they’ve been getting a lot of buzz, and I feel like they’ve come a long way since I first tried them a couple of years ago.

They sent me this pair to try, and I have to say the denim feels remarkably similar to MOTHER or PAIGE. It’s soft but structured, thick but not heavy, with just enough stretch to be comfortable. The wash looks really good, too.
This is their “modern flare,” but it looks more like a traditional bootcut to me. I like these a lot, and I feel like they’re extremely flattering, but it’s a style I feel like I’ve worn so much over the years. Also, I wish it had a higher rise, which would help eliminate that muffin top.
VERDICT: I’d be curious to try some of their other styles. Definitely a brand to watch!

AYR The Smile in White
c/o AYR (M) // Dolce Vita Alenna (8.5) // Jenny Bird earrings // pebble pendant

PRODUCT DETAILS: Slightly more elevated and feminine than your favorite basic tee, The Smile is a super flattering deep scoop neck with a relaxed sleeve. Cut from our signature Spa Knit: soft, drapey, 100% Peruvian Pima cotton jersey.
- Body Length from the Shoulder: 22 1/2″
- 100% Pima Cotton.
- Machine wash cold with like colors, do not bleach, tumble dry low.
- Made in Lima, Peru.
MY THOUGHTS: Love, love, love this tee! It has such a flattering boxy fit and the perfect length. The deep scoop neckline is flattering and a little different, and the dolman-style sleeves make it an easy, relaxed fit. And the fabric is sublime—really nice quality Pima cotton that’s not too thin or too thick.

VERDICT: Definitely keeping this one, and planning to order the grey.

Sam Edelman Mac Single Breasted Coat in Birch
at Nordstrom (M) // J.Crew Trouser Jeans in Charlotte (29) // // Dolce Vita Alenna (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: A rich and earthy hue sets the tone for this cotton-blend jacket accented with mottled faux-horn buttons and a crisp point collar.
- 36″ length (size Medium)
- Hidden placket
- Point collar
- On-seam pockets
- Lined
- 57% cotton, 43% polyester
- Machine wash, tumble dry
MY THOUGHTS: This is a really good classic mac-style trench. I love the cool beige shade and the contrasting buttons. Also, the little button detail on the side is a fun touch.

It has a slightly shiny texture, so it will definitely be water repellent, but it doesn’t look like a raincoat. The perfect transitional topper if you don’t want a cropped jacket.
VERDICT: I think I’m keeping this one. It’s similar to my London Fog from last fall, but I really like this lighter shade for spring.

Nordstrom Stretch Cotton Trench Coat in Black
at Nordstrom (S) // J.Crew Trouser Jeans (29) // // Dolce Vita Alenna (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: This double-breasted trench takes the classics then edits the length for right-now proportions. Cut from stretch-enhanced cotton, it keeps its crisp shape while moving easily through the day.
- Double-breasted button closure.
- Notched lapels.
- Adjustable button-tab cuffs.
- Front welt pockets.
- Storm flap. Lined.
- Adjustable button side tabs.
- 96% cotton, 4% elastane.
- Machine wash, tumble dry.
MY THOUGHTS: This is a great little spring jacket. It has a good amount of stretch, so it’s very comfortable, but still has a polished look. The details are really nice too, especially the button tabs at the hem and the storm flap in the back. I also like that it’s fully lined. It comes in a nice Beige Oatmeal color as well.

Fit note: Runs big—size down.
VERDICT: Definitely keeping this one!

J.Crew Short Barn Jacket™ in chino in Olive
at J.Crew (S) // AYR The Smile (M) // J.Crew Denim Trouser Jean (29) // Dolce Vita Alenna (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Always evolving, we updated this version with a cropped fit that hits at the hips and oversized, multifunctional patch pockets. Plus, it’s crafted from a softly structured cotton-blend chino that’s ideal for spring months ahead.
- 64% cotton/31% polyester/5% polyamide shell.
- Point collar. Button closure.
- Patch pockets. Lined.
- Machine wash.
MY THOUGHTS: This is a great little jacket for spring. I love the update to the classic barn jacket, with the cropped length and almost swing-style shape. The back pleat is a nice added detail, and the buttons add just a hint of contrast.

My only caveat is that it feels a bit stiff. I’m not sure it’s a jacket I’d want to leave on indoors—it feels more like a transitional outerwear piece, even though the cropped length makes it feel more like an outfit topper.
VERDICT: I think I’m keeping this, even though it’s a little stiff. I don’t have any olive jackets this season, and I always enjoy having one in my closet.

And that’s a wrap! I’d love to hear your thoughts, and if you found anything in here to try!

Jo-Lynne, I was thrilled to see you wearing the Geri sweatshirt from Nation Los Angeles:)! I ordered it a couple weeks ago when you had that discount for them, and they also had a $50 discount through Shop when ordering from Nation for the first time. I love the sweatshirt, and I am NOT a sweatshirt person except for working out. So it was fun to see that you like it as well:).
Yes, it’s so good!
I’ve been eyeing the Caslon s/s sweatshirt for awhile, but I haven’t ordered it because I thought it might be too long. The color you tried looks redder and brighter than the one online. Can you comment? Also, what is the length of the mimi cropped tee? Thank you!
It definitely photographed very bright. It’s a beautiful color in person. And it does run big. The mimi cropped tee is very short. Too short for me, at least in the M.
I love try on hauls! So helpful to read through your comments, and from having done that for years with you, knowing what’s worth my attention!
When I clicked on the TB linen shirt dress, at the bottom of the page it “suggested” this one. https://www.tommybahama.com/en/Two-Palms-Embroidered-Linen-Shift-Dress/p/SW622530
I hadn’t noticed it ever before. I popped it into my cart. I loved the neutral color palm a dora and recently sent to resale. I’m not sure what to expect as far as all linen vs a blend that I’m used to in their dresses. Stay tuned.
I was curious on the Madewell airy with a tie do they have magic pockets like other Madewell jeans? I do love that feature!
I had looked at that. I wasn’t sure about the color for me, and the tie… although that other dress with the tie did work, so it is always worth trying!
I’m not sure about the magic pockets… it doesn’t mention it on the website, and I don’t know how to tell in person.
Easy! The pocket lining (white part) is sewn into the zipper… acting like a “girdle” making things lay flat across the front. It’s great when this is a feature on pleated pants (Aritzia). I think one of your Madewell jeans mention it as a feature above. Compare them!
I keep meaning to compare when I’m upstairs in my closet, and I keep forgetting. I actually walked up to do just that the day you left this comment, and got distracted and forgot. I do not think the tie waist pair has those pockets, though, or they would say on the website.
The Kut from the Kloth denim jacket was a little too short for me. It is super cute and I loved the zipper idea. I ended up returning it. : (
Oh, that’s a bummer!
Hello! I’d love to add an olive jacket to my spring/summer wardrobe but can’t afford the J Crew price of $228 which you featured. Can you provide some nice alternatives under $100 and under $50?
Thanks!
I haven’t seen anything, but I’ll keep an eye out.
Your try-ons are a challenge to my budget! I did check out the Michael Stars tops, but perhaps fortunately for me they don’t offer inclusive sizing. Trying not to click on the Geri boxy ivory sweatshirt or the denim jacket. But I simply could not resist those Steve Madden ivory sandals at that price, and they’re on their way. Especially like the cropped black trench and the black linen dress on you; they’re so striking with your coloring.
Thanks, Trish. I think you’ll be happy with those sandals. Steve Madden has a lot of good options at reasonable prices.
Wow- the price on the AYR denim!! I’m no stranger to premium denim (you know me and my love for Paige, L’Agence, Mother….) but this surprised me for a brand that I didn’t realize was in that category. I had a pair of their secret sauce jeans about 4 years ago but I am positive I didn’t pay more than $150 for them. How do they feel wearing for a while? The styles offered are nice and I love the longer inseam option. (I shouldn’t be shocked at rising prices considering I just paid almost $7.00 a gallon for gas for my car. ) Thanks for the try-ons…always my favorite kind of post.
Yes, I think their price have gone up, and I feel like they’ve gotten better too. I remember trying them before, and I don’t think they were the price of Paige and Mother at the time. These do feel like and look similar quality.
Really interested in the Sam Edelman Max single breasted coat but your photo in linen looks lighter than in sight. I want light line you have. Is the linen color lighter? I want cool tone. I wish it was longer for dresses. It may hit me longer as I’m shorter. I’m still looking for one you had one Dorung that was light single breasted and longer. Thanks
I have the Birch. I think the Linen is lighter.
Love this try on! So many fun outfits!
You look amazing in the TB black linen dress. I ordered a couple TB after you styled them. Some of the reviews said it looked wrinkly after short time. I understand this is the nature of linen.
How do you care for TB linen dress? Do you steam it?
Can it still be worn to dressy event? How do you feel about the wrinkles (meaning how does it affect look of dress)?
Yeah, the wrinkles do annoy me but I think that is just linen. I do steam it. I would definitely wear the black one to a dressier event.
Thanks! It looks fabulous on you!
I love your try ons!! This one is so fun, you look great in everything!! The bright colors look fantastic on you! I especially love the TB dresses on you. I’d love one but the price point is over my budget. I see the Sanctuary pink top peaking out of photo with the Sam Edelman coat. I purchased it from your recent trip post, and LOVE it! I’m packing it for a Fla Keys beach wedding week soon. So excited. Thank you for all you do. 😘 Cheers!
Have so much fun! yes, that is a good top.
I love the black trench, the flare jeans and the Kut from the Kloth jean jacket. I have yet to see barrel jeans on anyone where I live. There’s lots of college young women that attend my church. They all wear wide leg jeans. I like the jeans with the weird seaming better than the Madewell ones since they’re not as wide.
