Summer Try On Haul: Evereve & Nordstrom

Happy Friday, friends! I’m looking forward to a long weekend, how about you? I’ve got a new try-on haul for you today. It’s mostly Evereve and Nordstrom, and I found a lot of cute tops, a great denim skirt, as well as a raffia handbag and some good sandals.

As usual, I will provide measurements and fabric content on each item when I can find it, and I’ll share whether I plan to keep it or not. Just remember, even when I decide not to keep something, it doesn’t mean it isn’t worth checking out. I just may not need it, or it may not work for my body type or lifestyle.

Summer Styles from Evereve, Sanctuary, Faherty, LNA & More

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and I usually wear a small or medium in tops and dresses, a 29 or 30 in jeans and pants, and a size 8 shoe. Gifted items are indicated by c/o; everything else I purchased myself.

Evereve Cruz Sleeveless Hoodie

at Evereve (M) // Frank & Eileen Gaucho Jeans c/o (29) // Dolce Vita slides (7.5)

Details:

  • Length from Shoulder to Hem: 21 1/2″
  • Material: 60% Cotton, 40% Modal Slub Knit
  • Care: Machine Wash, Wash Cold, Dry Flat

I tried on this sporty top in the size small at the Evereve store a few weeks ago, and I could tell I needed to size up, but I didn’t think I liked it enough to go back onto the floor and find it. Well, I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and every time I see it on the Evereve website, it catches my eye, so I decided to order the medium and see how I feel about it in the right size.

This time I love it! It was just a little too fitted in the small, and those funky sleeves/armholes don’t look so awkward now that the rest of the top is more slouchy and relaxed.

VERDICT: Keeping! This is such a fun, casual, sporty-chic top to wear with jeans, cargo pants, and shorts. I love the white, but it also comes in a washed red, that’s right on trend for summer 2024!

Evereve James Pullover

at Evereve (S) // Frank & Eileen Gaucho Jeans c/o (29) // Dolce Vita slides (7.5) // Good American Good Straight (8) // Birks (39)

Details:

  • Length from Shoulder to Hem: 22″
  • Material: 100% Cotton Knit
  • Care: Hand Wash, Wash Cold, Dry Flat

I’m a sucker for subtle tie dye print, and while I may have declared it an outdated trend not too long ago, I was drawn to this sweater the instant I saw it online. The muscle tee styling keeps it modern, and it being a sweater gives it a more elevated look and feel than than a tie dye tee.

Also, the colors are my favorites. They call it blue, but it looks grey/white/black to me. I like how this top pairs with the light wash gaucho jeans I’m wearing here.

It also pairs really nicely with white denim. I wore this outfit to go to the mall and out to eat with Paul last Friday night.

VERDICT: Definitely keeping this one. I’ve already worn it twice!

Evereve Reese Dip Dye Tank

at Evereve (M) // Frank & Eileen Gaucho Jeans c/o (29) // Dolce Vita slides (7.5)

Details:

  • Length from Shoulder to Hem: 23″
  • Material: Self: 100% BCI Cotton Slub Knit; Contrast: 97% BCI Cotton, 3% Spandex
  • Care: Machine Wash, Tumble Dry Low

Given my feelings about the tie dye sweater above, you might think I would also love this dip dye tank, but this one doesn’t excite me. It’s kind of shapeless, and I don’t care for the high contrast between the white on top and black on bottom.

VERDICT: I returned this one.

Faherty Miramar V-Neck Pullover

at Evereve (S) // Frank & Eileen Gaucho Jeans c/o (29) // Dolce Vita slides (7.5)

Details:

  • Length from Shoulder to Hem: 22″
  • Material: 64% Linen, 36% Organic Cotton Knit
  • Care: Machine Wash, Wash Cold, Delicate / Gentle Cycle, Dry Flat

I wanted to love this slouchy stripe sweater. It checks all the boxes with the deep v-neck, extra long sleeves, and textural linen/cotton blend knit fabrication. But I struggled to style it in a way that didn’t look awkward.

Front tucking with stripes always looks a bit off to me, and the way these are placed, at the bottom half of the sweater, seems to throw off my proportions or something. I can’t explain it, but I just didn’t love the overall look.

I did also try styling this with ecru wide leg crop jeans. The “white” stripes in the sweater are really more of an off-white, so this color palette really works, but I just don’t love the overall proportions of the outfit.

VERDICT: Sadly, I returned this sweater. I wanted to love it, but I know myself well enough to know that I won’t reach for it. Or I will, but then I’ll get frustrated and take it off and wish I hadn’t spent $158 on a sweater that I have to work too hard to make it work.

LNA Fallon V Cotton Tank

at Evereve (M) // Frank & Eileen Gaucho Jeans c/o (29) // Dolce Vita slides (7.5)

Details:

  • Length from Shoulder to Hem: 24″
  • Material: 100% Cotton Knit
  • Care: Machine Wash, Wash Cold, Delicate / Gentle Cycle, Tumble Dry Low
  • Made in United States

Now this top, on the other hand, is right up my alley! I love the super soft cotton knit, the raw edges, and the fun cut-out design. The cotton candy shade of pink is really good too.

This top is a little longer than I prefer, but a good length for a front tuck, and it looks okay from the back.

VERDICT: Keeping! I can see myself wearing this a lot this summer. It looks good with all shades of denim, and it would be cute with white shorts, too.

Nation LTD Via Tie Front Tank

at Evereve (S) // Frank & Eileen Gaucho Jeans c/o (29) // Dolce Vita slides (7.5)

Details:

  • Length from Shoulder to Hem: 21 1/2″
  • Material: 100% Pima Cotton Slub Knit
  • Care: Machine Wash, Wash Cold, Tumble Dry Low

This top has potential, but it’s way too wide and swingy for my taste.

The front tuck looks awkward, too.

VERDICT: This one went back.

Quince Dolman Sweater Gray

at Quince (M) // Good American Good Straight (8) // Beek flip flops (8)

Details:

  • Materials: 65% organic cotton, 32% ecovero viscose, 3% cashmere
  • Machine wash cold. Gentle cycle. Do not bleach. Tumble dry low.

You may remember this Quince sweater from an earlier Try-On Haul; I had the small in the oatmeal. The medium fits better, and I like the gray better, but I’m not loving the fit. It’s a lot of fabric.

VERDICT: I’ll probably return this; I do need something sort of like this in my wardrobe, but I’m not sure this is the one.

Rebecca Minkoff Medium Edie Raffia Crossbody Bag

at Saks // at Bloomies // Treasure & Bond sweater // PAIGE Anessa jeans (29) // Sam Edelman slides (8)

Details:

  • Dimensions: 10″W x 3.5″D x 6.5″H
  • Chain shoulder strap, 11″ drop
  • Exterior back snap pocket, interior back slip pocket
  • 80% paper/20% polyurethane; lining: 100% polyester

Love this raffia shoulder bag for spring/summer! The gold hardware is a little brassy, but otherwise, the leather lining in the flap is nice, and the faux hook closure is a fun detail. I love the YSL version of this bag, but not the price tag. This is a nice alternative.

VERDICT: Keeping! This is exactly what I was looking for.

Staud Dante Leather Flip-Flops

at Saks (38) // at Shopbop (in beige) // Evereve James Pullover (S) // Good American Good Straight (8) Evereve Camp Jacket (S)

Details:

  • Lambskin
  • Cushioned footbed
  • Leather sole with rubber heel cap
  • Made in Portugal

I ordered these leather flip flops on a whim during the last Saks sale. Thong style sandals are having a moment this summer, and I’ve long been a fan of the style and shape. They’re made of a luxe lambskin that is super soft and beautiful, and the leather sole is a testament to the quality and attention to detail. Definitely keeping!

Tory Burch Ines Multistrap Sandal

at Nordstrom (8) // MOTHER Hustler (29)

Details:

  • Materials: Leather upper and lining/rubber sole
  • Fit: True to size

I thought these might be the Miller 2.0 but they are too big, and my feet slide right out of them. I do like the design, though.

VERDICT: Returned these, but you might like them if you have a wider/higher profile foot.

Splendid St. Tropez Linen Blend Top

at Nordstrom (S) // MOTHER Weekender (29) // PAIGE Claudine (29) (more sizes) // Seychelles Summer Rain Sandal (7.5)

Details:

  • 23 1/2″ length
  • 55% linen, 45% viscose
  • Machine wash, tumble dry

Fashion is getting more elegant this year, and I’ve been struggling to find tops I like that aren’t basic t-shirts. This is a really nice one to dress up or down. The linen blend is cool and comfortable, and it’s the perfect length and shape to leave untucked.

VERDICT: Keeping, I think this will be a nice addition to my spring/summer wardrobe.

Daydreamer Red Hot Chili Peppers Tee

at Evereve (M) // KUT from the Kloth skirt (8) // Beek flip flops (8)

Details:

  • Length from Shoulder to Hem: 23 1/2″
  • Material: 100% Cotton Jersey
  • Care: Hand Wash, Dry Flat
  • Made in United States

I love a graphic tee, and I enjoy the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I think the design of this top is kind of fun, I like that it’s a bit more feminine than your typical band tee. The fabric is super soft, and it has a nice relaxed fit, but for some reason, I just didn’t love it enough to bring it home with me. Maybe I should have tried it on with jeans or shorts, but I don’t think I need it.

KUT from the Kloth Bristol Utility Skirt

at Evereve (8) // Red Hot Chili Peppers Tee (M) // Beek flip flops (8)

Details:

  • Skirt Length: 17″Material: 59% Cotton, 21% Hemp, 20% EcoVero Denim
  • Care: Machine Wash, Wash Cold, Hang To Dry

I did, however, bring this skirt home with me. It has a really nice fit, and I like the length. It’s just short enough to be current, but not so short that I feel like I’m wearing a mini skirt. I think it will be a nice alternative to shorts this summer.

Sanctuary Triple Threat Utility Skirt

at Evereve (29) // V-Neck Tank (S) // Beek flip flops (8)

Details:

  • Skirt Length: 30″
  • Material: 97% Cotton, 3% Spandex Twill
  • Care: Machine Wash, Wash Warm, Hang To Dry

This skirt has a lot of potential; I love the long straight cut with the front slit, and the olive green twill has a nice stretch to it. Plus, the utility details keep it on trend. It would be a nice transition piece for fall.

VERDICT: I didn’t bring this home, but I might regret leaving it at the store.

Sarina V Neck Tank

at Evereve (8) // Sanctuary Utility Skirt (29) // Beek flip flops (8)

Details:

  • Length from Shoulder to Hem: 22 3/4″
  • Material: 76% Polyester, 19% Rayon, 3% Spandex Rib Knit

Finally, this rib tank is such a good one! They carried a crewneck version of this a few years ago; I had the rust color and wore it a lot. I love the way it’s designed around the armholes to cover your bra straps. I went with the small, but I maybe should have tried the medium. At any rate, it’s a nice basic you can wear along with jewelry or layer it under a jacket.

VERDICT: I brought this one home, but I may go back and try the medium before I rip the tags off and wear it.

I do have a few more items I tried that I want to show you, but I’ve run out of time for now. Maybe I’ll add to this later today!

  1. Welcome to Cleveland! I think you’ll enjoy the Rock Hall.

As always, I enjoyed this try-on haul. I just can’t get behind any kind of tie-dye, though! My favorite outfit was the first one, with the white top. So stylish.

  2. Hi JoLynne, I love the first tie dye shirt on you! You really know what colors work for you! I also love the Splendid linen top. What size are you wearing? The length is great- not too long.

  3. Thanks for this! I completely agree about things feeling a bit more dressy and have been kind of frustrated getting dressed in my typical jeans and tee. I like the Splendid striped top! It doesn’t seem fussy, just elevated. I’m happy you found a few things to add to your wardrobe! Enjoy Cleveland! I’ve not been so I’m crossing my fingers you’ll share some pictures.

  4. I like technology but electricity is more important. Our city got hit by a tornado on Wednesday evening. Most of the city is still without power and a lot of damage. God protected me and my house. No lives were lost which is most important. I like the striped linen blouse. I think the sweater you sent back would have looked better with long flare jeans. I think wide legs look better with fitted tops and not sloughy ones. Have a blessed weekend.

    1. Terri…..I’m glad you are safe. We’ve been watching the news on the tornadoes and its so sad. I told my husband I just don’t think I could ever live somewhere where tornadoes was a threat this time of year. I like my safe Oregon. We do however have more wild land fires to be concerned about, than we ever did, but where we live is pretty safe from that. Be safe.

      1. Thank you. I’m grateful I can stay with my son. Many people are having a hard time. A tornado has never hit Temple TX so we’re not used to this. No idea yet when my neighborhood gets power back. Praying for all the workers trying to restore power.

  5. Lots of good items here. I agree on all you kept. I will be shopping Evereve tomorrow, so will have to check these out. I have a return and will get to shop around the store. I live 1 1/2 hr. away from the store. We will be going away for the weekend and will also get some hiking in and I like to go to my favorite bookstore. 🙂 I’m looking forward to getting away. The weather is suppose to turn sunny and low 70’s and I’m so glad. Its been cloudy and gloomy here the last few days. Enjoy your trip. I’d have to look on the math to see how far you are traveling. I live on the West coast, so don’t know your area at all.

  6. Okay I love those silver sandals you wore with the st. Tropez top. The ones that wrap the toe. Info please if typo have it.

  7. I was also going to ask about the silver sandals in the pic with the Splendid top. They are really cute but the link and wording is for a different pair. Great try-on haul. I agree that getting slightly more elevated looks seems to be needed now and yet hard to pull together. I am mostly in need of cute casual-dressy tops. Not a very good description but I’m sure you know what I mean! LOL

  8. You tried on some winners and some losers, for you, this go around. I appreciate you sharing pieces that don’t work for you and sharing the reasons they are a miss. As you stated, they make work great for someone else.

  9. The Seychelles??
Didn’t know that it is a brand name, lol
Where have I been. I am from The Seychelles Islands.
