Two Classy Ways to Wear White Crop Pants This Summer

a classy way to wear white crop pants

Talbots has been on a roll lately with their summer styles, and this weekend the entire store is 40% off! I wanted to share a few of their pieces that have recently found a home in my closet, so I styled these white crop pants two ways.

My first look features this cap sleeve sweater with the bateau neckline. I fell in love with this gorgeous geranium pink, but it also comes in four other summery colors as well as classic black and white.

It has such pretty knit details around the neckline and shoulders, and it fits close to the body without being clingy. It also comes in petite, plus, and plus petite; and it runs true to size. I’m wearing my usual small.

This sweater is the perfect complement to these crisp white crop pants.

They have a straight fit with a 25″ inseam, which is the perfect crop length on my 5’5″ frame. These pants run a little big, so I sized down to a 4.

To keep the look light and summery, I added these metallic rattan buckle sandals that I’ve been wearing so much recently.

I love how these add a touch of glam to my summer outfits. They’re very comfortable and run true to size. I have them in the 8.

If you live in a cooler climate, or are going somewhere that gets cold indoors, a denim jacket is the perfect topper to this classy casual look.

I especially love this one with the stripe lining on the cuffs. I am wearing the XS because the white one I have from Talbots ran big, but this one is more true to size. I would be more comfortable in my usual small.

There is also the same stripe lining behind the collar.

These earrings are also from Talbots. I love combination of brushed gold and rattan discs; they have a such a great upscale casual vibe.

This look reminds me so much of summertime in Maine. It’s perfect for casual dining or getting together with family and friends on mild summer days.

Here at home in Pennsylvania, this is the type of thing I like to wear in the summer to church or places where I’ll be indoors with the A/C blasting. And since these are all classic pieces I can wear for years, I’m looking forward to wearing them again next spring.

While I was shopping at Talbots last week, I also snapped up this lightweight linen tie dye sweater.

Tie dye is having a moment right now, and this sweater keeps it classy with the muted color palette, wide round neck, and traditional styling. This is the very definition of classic with a modern twist.

It also comes in petite and plus sizes, and I’m wearing my usual small.

This basketweave inset bracelet has a side hinge and is easy to pop on and off, and it has such a fun summery vibe.

I like how it coordinates with my basketweave inset earrings.

You can wear them together or separately, depending on your preference. Either would pair nicely with other plain gold jewelry.

The same metallic rattan buckle sandals complete this casual, classy look.

I started shopping Talbots back when I was in college, and I can always count on them for quality, attention to detail, and classic style with a modern twist.

Add to that, their wide range of sizes and stellar customer service, and I’m finding more and more to love about shopping at Talbots these days.

  1. I was having a longing for Talbots after the cute dress you posted the other day. Went online and picked several things and then started reading reviews about their shipping to Canada and well – it’s not worth it. Apparently Talbots doesn’t have that under control yet as a lot of US stores do and by the time you pay shipping, duty and brokerage fees you are often paying more than double for the outfit….all this to say I then looked up where the closest Talbots was to me and Toronto has 3 (I live 1 1/2 hours from the city) so I picked the closest one and went – these days its doesn’t take much to find an excuse to go for a drive somewhere. It was my first time to the city since before Covid as it is more of a hotspot than where I live – so mask and sanitizer in hand I went. When I arrived it was a Talbots outlet store and not the normal one but WOW – the deals I got. Most items were 70% off the already reduced price. The sales staff were amazing. They didn’t have the dress I went for but there was another very similar that I snagged for I think $22 (originally $169). I purchased 6 items for $135!!!!!! One of the other big wins was some gold flat braid sandals for $15. I signed up for their points program and got an additional 10% off. Anyways, this is long winded but my sale shopping sense was very excited….definately worth the drive and I”ll be back. Their clothing is of high quality and I’ve often enjoyed shopping in Talbots when I’m in the US which from the looks of things won’t be for a long time. Also love that they have regular sizing, petites, plus and petite plus – the store works for everyone.

    1. Sharon Scott……there are a number of other Canadian readers on JoLynne’s page…..would be very helpful if you would post where the Talbots Outlet store is located

      1. Certainly. There are 3 Talbots listed in Toronto. I went to the one in Vaughan in the RioCan Colossus Centre – 16 Famous Ave Unit 146, Woodbridge, ON. It was very well stocked (I thought) when I was there this week.

  2. Love that look!  I think the “geranium” pink is such a beautiful color.  I purchased a cardigan from Talbots in the spring in the geranium color.  Love the earrings and bracelet with the rattan accents.  Have a great weekend!

  3. You look great in both outfits. Nothing like white pants/jeans/crop pants in the summer with a pretty colored top.

  4. I really like both outfits. I have a very similar sweater in that color from Talbots a few years ago and a pair of white girlfriend chino crops from either Talbots or Loft that I bought early in Spring when stores were having super sales due to the COVID virus and forgot about, since I wasn’t going anywhere and who wears white bottoms when they are staying home?  Not me, except for shorts maybe. Since being diagnosed with breast cancer, I am going to different doctors and lots of testing. Today I am going for a CT scan with barium 😐 to make sure it hasn’t spread to any organs. I think I will wear this outfit today. Thanks for the idea!

      1. Thank you, Jo-Lynne. I just drank the first barium drink and it was much more palatable than when I was a teenager. I have to drink another half soon. Hopefully, the rest won’t be too bad, either.

    1. Wishing you a complete recovery, Patt. Isn’t it nice how something as simple as putting a great  outfit together, can give us confidence and make us feel better about ourselves?

    2. I will be praying for you Patt!  I’m a survivor so I understand.  Keep dressing nice for all your appointments.  It will often times start conversations which in turn, helps deal with the overwhelming circumstances.  Most importantly, remember who holds your life in His hands.🙏

      1. Thank you so much for your kind words and reminders. I appreciate the support and advice of others. I have learned that every survivor has a different experience but in many ways it’s still the same. I have been “dressing up” to appointments and it does make me feel more normal.

  5. Love these looks. I have shopped Talbots for years too.  I always get my white button down shirts from them as such good quality. I just got a top, too small, so back it goes. I am waiting on a bag. It is one of the few stores that is still in our town so that helps with shopping too! I like that one can get a whole outfit there.  Have a great weekend and hoping the braces come off as corn on the cob season is right around the corner!  Yes, looks like you will get a lot of rain and such.

  6. I love both these looks on you! You look terrific in that bright pink. I’ll have to check out Talbots sale!

  7. I love Talbots. The clothing quality is magnificent. I’m partial to cotton, and they still carry a lot of cotton clothing unlike other stores.

  8. Good luck Becca!  I really like both outfits on you!  I love the tie dyed sweater and would add it to my closet if I needed another top.  I hope that y’all don’t get hit with too severe of weather or lose your power.  Stay safe!

  9. So cute for summer…I love the classic styles of
Talbots!  I have the lounge set you styled few days
ago and love it! The jewelry would make a great
    gift set.

  10. I love these outfits.  The white pants are so nice on you!  I’m still not going out much, so haven’t even had a chance to think about wearing my white jeans yet.  Maybe by the end of the summer??

  11. I’m enjoying your two ways to wear a particular clothing item, and the pink and white outfit is so crisp and pretty.
Talbots is one of my go-to stores, and it has been nice seeing you wear some of their items.

  12. With cases of covid spiking all over, I just am frustrated. I don’t like going out with a mask but staying home is so hard.  I find I want to order Summer clothes, but don’t really need them, as I can’t get through the ones in my closet if not going like I usually do.  Having a bad day with the Covid ordeal.  Hoping tomorrow is better. I think knowing people close who have it makes it all the more real too.  🙁  I have to focus on my blessings.  So many people are suffering and I’m not.  Thanks for your fun blog to look forward to each day.
