What I Wore Lately Vol. 22

Happy hump day, friends! It’s time for another edition of What I Wore Lately. This is a roundup of my daily outfits from the past week.

It starts out with the day we had no power. I went to PT early that morning, and then over to Nordstrom to shop the Anniversary Sale.

I actually switched into these jeans before going into the mall because I knew I’d be trying on shoes, but I never got a picture of that look.

The next day, we got our power back, so I showered and got dressed so I could try on some of the Nordstrom order that came in the mail.

FYI, these Cole Haan sandals are 40% off.

The next day was Friday, and it turned cold and rainy, so I pulled out one of my favorite cotton sweaters. Unfortunately, the grey has sold out, and there are only a few sizes left in the pink and blue.

But I often get asked for sweater recs with no wool, and Everlane usually has some good cotton options. This one is on sale and comes in a pretty rust for fall. This classic cotton crew is nice, and this soft cotton square crew is a little more trendy and oversized. I just ordered this cotton linen v-neck — it looks like a nice one for summer and early fall.

I also debuted my new Sofft sneaker mules. These are so comfortable and a great price during the #NSale. I wore this to run to the mall, and later that evening to hang out with friends.

I spent pretty much all day Saturday trying on clothes, after I finished up computer work that morning, so I didn’t really have a daytime outfit.

Well, unless you count this. I’ve been living in this lately when I’m not going anywhere. Unfortunately, these #NSale lounge joggers sold out almost immediately.

I also caved and got another pair of Birks. I wear my other ones so much, and I thought it would be nice to have a more neutral pair.

But that night, Paul and I went out to dinner for our anniversary, and I wore this Everlane seamed tank dress. Sorry, the lighting in my room is always odd late in the day.

I love these wedge sandals. I haven’t had many opportunities to wear them this summer, so I pulled them out for the occasion.

We got Becca to take our picture out back before we left. I don’t have links for what Paul is wearing, although I could probably round some up.

Looks like someone should have ironed his pants!  🤦🏻‍♀️

That brings us to Sunday… I wore my new Eileen Fisher dress from the #NSale with these silver wedge sandals.

I was pretty lazy on Monday and hung around in my running clothes for the better portion of the day, but I finally got tired of smelling myself and got showered and dressed. It was probably mid-afternoon when I finally took this picture.

I didn’t go anywhere except to drop Becca off at band camp, but I put on minimal makeup and dried my hair. It’s amazing wha a difference a shower and shampoo can make!

And finally, I wore this yesterday to run to the mall to pick up an online order.

My sandals are 40% off, and this tee is from the #NSale and only $12.50. I also have the solid white and the black and ivory stripe. (TTS; I’m in the small.)

I also tried out my new Coach bag! This is one of the #NSale items I was most excited about seeing in person, and it’s really good. I love the quality of the leather and the functionality of the bag.

And that’s a wrap! Tomorrow, the #NSale opens to Insiders, so basically all cardholders. I’d love to hear what type of post you’d like to see from me.

I do have more try-ons I haven’t shared yet, or I can share some #NSale outfits, or just a roundup of The Best of What’s Left. (There’s a lot, don’t worry!)

Or I can just move on with diving into each category. I still want to do Best of Beauty and Teen Picks. Let me know!

  1. I went back and added that leopard T to my wish list!   Let’s hope the XL fits, as the XXL is out of stock, 🤞🏻   I like a bit of room in my t’s, allowing for washing and minimal time in the dryer.   And the Marc Fisher black slides, I’ve loved them since the first time you styled them. It pays to read reviews, which revealed that they run a bit narrow and my foot is anything but!  So none for me…..I love the a Coach bag as well!  All good choices Jo-Lynne!!

  2. I don’t have a favorite outfit from what you really wore.  You look very nice in both of the dresses!  If you happen to notice that the leopard print tee is restocked, will you please let us know!  Thanks!  We are still dealing with high heat and humidity, with it feeling like the triple digits, but we are supposed to be saying goodbye to the 90’s in about seven days.  I just don’t like sweating when I’m doing the simplest little task outside.  Have a great day!

  3. ohhh, I love your new Birks. I have the same pair, but in a metallic bronze color. I would like to see your best Beauty pics from the NSale. I was able to get to the KoP Nordstroms on Monday. Didn’t buy anything since I can’t shop until tomorrow, but it was still fun to see most of the items I was interested in. Seemed pretty well stocked, I hope my Cherry Hill Mall Nordstrom’s is as well. I will purchase most items on-line, but want to try on some jeans. Enjoy this VERY HOT day, ugh!

  4. I’m getting excited about the Nordstrom sale soon starting here in Canada!!! I’ll be able to shop on line August 20 but we haven’t even gotten our sneak peak yet 🤷‍♀️except that it looks like they’ll have the Steve Madden Mules… I really like the outfit with the camouflage shoes and the outfit featuring the new coach bag😍.  Those joggers are cute too I may watch for them on my end 🙂

  5. The coach bag is bigger than I expected.  This is why I like to see it with a body I know with it.  Is it heavy?  I often find good leather bags are heavy before you put your stuff into it.  I love it but don’t want to spend that much on a bag that I wouldn’t use a lot.

  6. I vote for best of what’s left since so many of us are still waiting. Lol! You’ve done a fantastic job with great choices!

  7. Did I miss the beauty and teen wrap up? I thought you mentioned that those were coming. Hoping to take a look before tomorrow.

  8. Hi Jo-Lynne.  I don’t mean to be a stalker, but what black clutch are you carrying in your anniversary photos? It looks like one of the YSL ones I’ve been looking at.  They have several I like, trying to decide on which one works best.  Thanks for any info.

  9. Excited for tomorrow…several items I want are already out of stock.  Boo Hoo!!!!  I have a question about ordering time  for the NAS.  I live in California, so can I order at 9:01 PM PST since it’s past midnight EST???  Trying to increase my chances…

  10. I’d like to see NSALE outfits and try on. I think you look better in the clothes than online models. :).

  11. I’d love recommendations for neutral handbags at lower price points than Rebecca Minkoff, Tory Burch, Coach, etc. While the Coach bag is gorgeous, many can’t afford it, even with NSaIe. You showcase so much low to mid-priced clothing (Loft, Old Navy, Gap, Amazon) that it seems incongruous. Thanks.

    1. That is helpful feedback, thanks. Yes, I’ve always been willing to spend on bags and shoes, and I enjoy more of a mix of high and low when it comes to clothing. Sometimes I do feature lower priced bags, though. I will keep your feedback in mind. 🙂
