What I Wore Lately Vol. 101

Hi, friends! Paul and I are on our way to Nashville for a quick trip, and of course I left this post to the last minute, so I’m going to try to be as brief as I can… Don’t laugh. I can be brief. I’m quite sure of it. This is a roundup of what I’ve worn in my daily life over the past couple of weeks.

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and I usually wear a small in tops and dresses, a 29 in jeans, and a size 8 shoe. Gifted items are indicated by c/o; everything else I purchased myself.

What I Wore Lately

This cotton cable knit sweater is from last year, but I found it in a few sizes in sky blue at Saks OFF 5TH. It’s perfect for this in-between season!

525 sweater (S) // MOTHER Insiders (29) (option) // VEJA Esplar (39) // earrings // similar necklace

The next day, I had a workout and then a nail appointment, with a stop to work at Starbucks in between.

Vuori hoodie c/o (S) // Zella tee (S) // Vuori straight leg pants c/o (M) // Goyard tote (similar for less) // Tory Burch Miller Sandals (8) // earrings // similar necklace

I threw on this familiar outfit one Saturday afternoon to grab an early dinner with Paul.

Equipment sweater (S) // Mother Weekender (29) // Dolce Vita boots (8) // earrings // similar necklace // Victoria Emerson bracelet c/o (use 60Jo-Lynne for 60% off)

This was my outfit for church the next day. I always struggle with footwear during this in-between season. When I want a heel and don’t want to wear booties, I usually end up in these clogs.

RAILS button-up $25 off (S) // Mother Weekender (29) // Kork-Ease clogs (8) // Dragon Diffusion tote // similar belt // earrings // similar necklace

old LOFT trench (similar) // RAILS button-up $25 off (S) // Mother Weekender (29) // Darby clogs (8) // Dragon Diffusion tote

I changed into this casual look to visit a friend that evening.

hoodie (S) // MOTHER Tomcat (29) // P448 sneakers (39) // Lagos earrings

The next day, I had a workout and then I just worked from home, and I kept this on all day. This Zella top is a few years old; I wish they still made something like it.

old Zella tee // Vuori leggings on sale! (S) // ON sneakers (8.5)

And I wore this athleisure look to visit my friendly chiropractor.

Vuori hoodie c/o (S) // similar Zella tee (S) // Vuori joggers (M) // ON sneakers (8.5) // earrings

I had a doctor appointment with one of my kids the next day, so I threw on this casual look.

sunset sweatshirt (M) // MOTHER Dazzler (39) // P448 sneakers (39) // Lagos earrings

And then it was another day working from home with an afternoon appointment. I never managed to change out of my walking clothes.

Athleta jacket (S) // Zella tee (S) // Vuori leggings (S) // On sneakers (8.5) // earrings

This was a casual Friday, with a few errands and work scattered in there. I also ran out for my daughter’s prom dress fitting that afternoon.

SUNDRY Pullover (1) // MOTHER Insiders (29) (similar for less) // VEJA Esplar (39) // Lagos earrings

We went out to a casual dinner with friends that night, so I changed into a slightly dressier look. It was pretty cold out, so I wore light colors in a weak attempt to give a nod to spring.

Equipment sweater (S) // Mother Weekender (29) // Dolce Vita boots (8) // earrings // similar necklace // similar bracelet

We spent Saturday afternoon at my daughter’s Indoor Percussion competition, and I wore this henley style pullover from last year with jeans and sneakers.

old RAILS pullover (similar // similar) // MOTHER Tomcat (29) // P448 John sneakers (39) // earrings

This was church on Sunday… I feel like these pants are a little too short since I washed them. They’ll look better with short sleeves and sandals this summer.

Everlane sweater (S) // Everlane pants (29) // similar mules // Madewell earrings

I changed into this Vuori set when I got home.

Vuori half zip c/o (S) // Vuori sweatpants c/o (M) // socks

And I wore this to run some errands after a photo shoot on Monday. I love the proportions of this outfit. This sweater is the perfect solution for wide leg pants because I don’t really like wearing form-fitting tops. I keep thinking I should get the cotton version for spring.

Everlane sweater (S) // MOTHER Roller (28) (similar for less) // Kork-Ease clogs (8) // Madewell earrings

I changed when I got home because I didn’t want to clomp around in mules all afternoon. I didn’t need to dress this nicely, but I did have another appointment, and I’m tired of wearing sweatshirts and sneakers. I also just pulled these espadrilles out of storage, and I wanted to wear them. They’re one of my favorites for spring.

Jenni Kayne sweater (S) (similar for less) // similar Fidelity denim // similar espadrilles // Yurman earrings

And this was yesterday morning… I got all dressed and drove to Bible Study, only to realize, it was canceled for Spring Break. Oooops!

It was a warm day, so I broke out a graphic tee from last fall and topped it off with my new utility jacket.

KUT from the Kloth Ingrid (S) // SUNDRY tee (S) // MOTHER denim (29) (similar for less) // Dragon Diffusion tote // similar belt // earrings // Lagos bracelets one & two

And that’s a wrap! I can’t wait to start wearing more spring styles, as the weather warms up this month. Or even if it doesn’t; it’s April, and I’m over the wool sweaters and boots. I’m at the point where I’d rather freeze than wear winter clothes, haha! We’ll see how that works for me…

  1. Love these post, seeing what you really wear on the daily. I had to laugh at the comment….”I’d rather freeze than wear Winter clothes.” That is where I’m at…..I live NW Oregon. We have similar Spring weather to you. Its been all over the place this Spring, even spitting snow. Just did yesterday. UGH. I’m always in for the graphic tee, jacket, jeans and sneakers. Love that.

  2. I am with you on wanting to wear spring clothes even if I am too cold. I have done it a few mornings but even before I leave I get tooo cold and change into a sweater! So much for me dressing for warm weather. Thanks for these posts of what you actually wear. I love hearing what turns out to be your favorite things. Plus it’s reassuring to me that you too love sweats day!

  3. I have the Everlane cotton sweater in two colors…it’s a really great piece.

I too live in NW Oregon, and do not go outside with bare ankles until at least halfway through May, most years. The espadrilles are cute, wish I could wear something similar right now!

  4. To combat the dilemma of whether to be cold or wear spring colors, I’ve collected, over the last couple of years, several spring-colored sweaters. I only wear them in Delaware for 2 months at the most, but they make me happy. And it’s nice to have a light-colored sweater for cold weather in the summer.

  5. Love seeing your choices for “real life”! I am forced to unbox all my tanks, shorts, and bathing suits because we leave in one week for FL (and I hear they are having a heat wave right now!). I am so happy to find out everything still fits, and I really don’t need to purchase anything else for this trip. Those white crops (Everlane) will look awesome with flip flips at the beach/pool when it gets hot! I love white bottoms! Enjoy Nashville!!!!

  6. Even if it rains, I know that you and Paul will enjoy your getaway to Nashville. I always enjoy seeing what you really wear. Like you, I’d rather be cold than to keep wearing boots and heavy tops. That’s why I’ve changed out my closet, while keeping a couple of sweatshirts down. The taupe sweater outfit is such a nice option that you look great in.

  7. Thanks for sharing outfits that don’t work. It is so helpful to actually see what the outfits look like and understand why they just don’t work.

  8. Question about Falls Vuori jumpsuit that you showed in another post…

    Did you keep it?
What do you wear underneath? I’m wondering if short boy shorts would show through but may need something to help it look smoother.

I have it in my cart from your link from awhile back us a couple others from this link.

  9. I love these posts! Well…I love them all, lol! But I love to see your “real life” outfits and how they came together. Also the ones that just didn’t. As always, appreciate you!

  10. I lucked out and found the same 525 Cable Knit sweater on Poshmark for $25 NWT! I’m so excited to wear it. It looks so good on you!
