What I Wore Lately Vol. 74

It’s strange to be here in Florida wearing shorts and sleeveless jumpsuits, and then to open my computer and see all of these wintry outfits!

But I’ve been saving pictures of my daily outfits for three weeks, so I better get them posted before they’re no longer relevant. Spring is still a ways off in Philly, but when the calendar turns to March, I usually start putting away my heaviest clothes and shift my focus toward spring.

outfit details

Since this post is about what I actually wear, I’m not trying to show a variety of retailers and price points as I do in other types of posts. For that reason, the outfits do add up, but because they’re mostly comprised of pieces I wear over and over, the cost per wear averages out. Also, keep in mind that I purchased a lot of the higher end items when they were on sale.

In the interest of time, I didn’t link up similar for less options, but most of the color combos are pretty easily recreated at any price point.

What I Wore Lately

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and I usually take a 6/28 in pants/jeans, a small in tops, and size 8 shoe. Gifted items are indicated by c/o; everything else I purchased myself.

This sweater is old, but the joggers are on sale at Evereve. They’re a satiny stretch twill and very comfortable. I think I was home working most of that day, since there’s nothing on my calendar.

This is that super soft, cozy Rails sweatshirt that I purchased with Trunk Club points. Definitely a splurge, but I’ve already worn this outfit several times in the past few weeks. It’s perfect for my super casual lifestyle, but it still looks put-together.

And guess what!?! These P448 sneakers are on sale and fully stocked at Bloomingdale’s. Don’t wait around if you had them on your wish list. They won’t last long. They’re the same color way as mine (Molly) but the Jack, not the John.

This was just a casual Friday. I had a quick dentist appointment to get fitted for a new retainer, and otherwise I was at home. I love this color combo. It’s cozy enough for winter weather but gives a nod to spring.

This was a really pretty Saturday a few weeks back, and visited Paul’s mom for a few hours. We also had friends over that night. This outfit is super simple, but I love the proportions and the combination of neutral tones.

Another day, another pullover and jeans… I wore this to church the next Sunday. This sweater has been a workhorse in my wardrobe. I bought it last year, and I’ve worn it a ton over the past two seasons. The burgundy is sold out, but I love that new ice purple that just popped up.

Naadam cashmere is some of the softest I own; I’m a huge fan, and this sweater has some nice details in the knit that are hard to see in my picture — extra long ribbed cuffs and rolled hem.

After church, I threw on this cozy/comfy outfit.

old Vince turtleneck // Vuori wideleg pants c/o // UGG slippers

Another cold snowy day at home, and I pulled out this old sweater that I never get tired of. It’s thicker than any of my others and so super soft. It was an end of season sale purchase a few years ago.

After my workout, I took Savannah to the groomer and brought my laptop along so I could work at Starbucks while she was getting all beautified.

I love this Athleta jacket. I wear it walking/running on the coldest days, and I also find myself throwing it on over workout gear to and from the gym and for chiropractor visits.

This was another weekday working from home, and this lightweight sweater is perfect for transition season.

Treasure & Bond sweater (S) // Fidelity denim (28) // Ugg Judi Clogs (9) // Baby Bell Bottom Belt (M) // Madewell earrings

And a similar outfit with the same clogs and a similar Treasure & Bond top. While they call this a sweatshirt and the one above a sweater, they’re both more of a lightweight knit top, perfect for transition season. I don’t wear these when it’s super cold out.

Paul and I had dinner reservations for Valentine’s Day at The Capital Grille, and I thought this printed tank was perfect.

I paired it with my Vince Crop Leggings for a more dressed-up look than my usual denim, and then I added the croco embossed square toe pumps. They’re high, but they’re walkable. Very good pumps, if you are in need of a pair.

The weather was mild enough to be comfortable in a jacket without a coat, but not mild enough to go without any topper, so I debated between my J.Crew Going Out Blazer or my KUT from the Kloth Quinn faux suede moto.

I also tried the top tucked… I meant to make side by side images with these pictures but I ran out of time.

Here it is with the Quinn moto jacket, which is a tad heavier and has full-length sleeves.

And here’s the front-tucked version… this is what I actually wore. I decided the blazer was too corporate, and this moto jacket gave the look more of a date night vibe but still kept it classy.

We had plans to go to the mall first, so I wore boots to the mall and switched into pumps before dinner.

I can’t believe these booties are still fully stocked. They’re a bit of an investment, but the quality is fantastic and they’re so versatile. They also have a cushioned footbed, and I’ve worn them walking all over the mall several times with no issues.

Okay, moving on! The next Sunday we woke up to a fresh coating of snow on the ground, so I dressed for church from the bottom up. These Sorels are so warm and cozy, and lightweight too.

I wear this cashmere jogger set all the time. I’ll only post one picture but I put this on after church on Sundays, and a lot of evenings at home when I’m ready to shed the jeans.

Yep, this outfit again! I wore this after a photoshoot last Monday.

I had a mani/pedi appointment, and I threw on another one of my go-to casual looks with an elevated sweatshirt, crop flares, and P448 sneakers. I wore sneakers and packed my flip flops in my tote because I wanted to run by the grocery store first.

This hoodie is really plush and soft inside, and it’s on sale. There are a few sizes left, and two other color options. I got it last spring about this time, and it’s one of my favorites for pairing with higher rise denim, like these Mother Insiders.

Evereve hoodie (S) // Mother denim (28) // P448 sneakers (39) // similar 11mm pearl earrings

You can see the results of my spray tan in this picture, yoiks! It did settle in and looks really natural now. I had chiropractor appointment, so I wore this athleisure look.

Vuori sherpa c/o (S) // Zella performance tee (S) // Vuori joggers (M) // Veja sneakers (39)

I went to the mall last Saturday to shop for some last minute items for my Florida trip, and I got kind of dressed up. I just felt like wearing something other than a sweatshirt and sneakers.

AllSaints moto in Oxblood (8) // Vince sweater (S) // Mother denim // Aquatalia boots (8) // Amazon earrings // Baby Bell Bottom Belt (M)

And I wore this to church last Sunday. I had a meeting afterwards, so I carried a tote that fits my laptop.

Finally, this is my travel outfit from Monday. I’m saving the rest of my vacation outfits for a dedicated post, but I usually link what I’ve worn recently in my email newsletters, so if you subscribe, you can get a sneak peek!

I was planning to wear this outfit, but I decided at the last minute to pack that one and wear the one above. I was happy I had the joggers because I wore them down to the lobby every morning to get coffee and work for a few hours while my roommate slept in.

  1. I think it would be so weird to live in FL where they don’t need hardly any warm clothing.. lol . I definitely need the season changes (at least I think I do.. HA)

    1. I’m in Fernandina Beach, FL. We have winter. For about 2 weeks. The rain turns cold. We can even have a freeze. The pool is cold. I even wear coats. And then it all ends.

      1. Yes, we are on the Gulf Coast this winter and I wasn’t sure what to bring along for “winter clothes”. You are exactly right, we’ve had 2 weeks of winter and I wore the sweaters I packed on those days. Now it’s in the 70s and 80s so I’m mostly dressing in layers. And I’m not complaining about it!

  2. Can’t wait to see what you have for Spring! I am super excited and hope you can relax a little before coming back home. Safe travels!

  3. I always enjoy these try-ons, thank you for all the time you spend on them. I actually have a cream sweater and blue jeans on today that is very similar to one of the outfits you styled! I’ll call it my Jo-Lynne outfit! I hope you have a great time in Florida and can’t wait to see the outfits you are photographing down there.

  4. Always great outfit inspiration! I am considering the cashmere set from Naadam and wonder if you’ve washed it yet. If so, Has the size changed at all? I’ve washed many a cashmere sweaters and even in cold water, it tends to shrink. What’s your experience, esp w the Naadam sweaters and joggers set?

    1. I haven’t washed it yet, so I’m not sure how that will go. I’m not a fan of cashmere after it’s been through the washer so I may dryclean it. I know it’s just loungewear for here at home, so maybe that is silly, but I hate to mess it up.

  5. Sounds like your trip is going well! I really like what you wore for your Valentines date night! It reached 85 here yesterday and is supposed to be in the 80’s for a few more days, then back in the 60’s. Have a great day!

  6. Did you take your normal size in the black Sorel Explorer Joan Boots? Still debating on them. We just got back from my sons house where it snows and I could have used them. 🙂 Do they stay dry even though suede? Can’t wait to see your Florida picture posts. Bet you are having so much fun.
