What I Wore Lately Vol. 80

Hello there, and welcome June!!! It’s finally sum-sum-summertime, and I could not be happier about it. Today I’m rounding up my daily outfits from the past couple of weeks.

I feel like I’ve been changing clothes like three times a day, so this post is quite picture heavy. I tried not to overdo it with the commentary, but it’s a long one, just warning you!

What I Wore Lately

This outfit is from the Wednesday two weeks ago. I was mostly working from home that day, but I had a couple of Zoom calls, so I put on makeup and jewelry. These shorts are the most comfortable pair I own, and I picked up a few colors in this tee when I saw it on sale at Saks Off Fifth.

The next day I had a few errands to run, including a nail appointment. It had been almost four weeks, and I was in desperate need. It was rather chilly that day, so I threw on this utility shirt jacket.

I had a photo shoot with Alison that Friday morning, and I wore this casual outfit afterwards to a hair appointment.

And that night, I went out for drinks and shopping with friends, so I took the opportunity to dress up a bit. I love this silky bomber jacket with the wedge sandals in the Sandstone Canvas. The back of the sandals is almost the same color as the jacket.

Saturday was hot and humid, and I ran to the grocery store for our pool party that night. I’m always cold in the grocery store, so I wore jeans and planned to change when I got back. This muscle tee is 40% off, by the way.

I also decided to try out my newest pair of Birks. These have been sitting in my closet for a while because I wasn’t sure I’d get enough wear out of such a bold color, but I think they’re really fun for a change.

I changed into shorts and a lighter top before our guests arrived. I grabbed this ATM tee in the lilac when it was on sale a couple weeks ago, but I don’t like it as much as the v-neck version.

Because of the way it’s cut on the bias, it kept turning on me and exposing a bit of my bra on one side. I’ll still wear it occasionally, but probably not for long periods of time because it was annoying.

The next day was a Sunday, which means church for us. I don’t usually wear blue jeans to church, but I dressed them up with a floral top, wedge sandals, and accessories. I brought the white denim jacket along with me, but I didn’t need it.

We came home and sat out by the pool for a while that afternoon, so I tried out one of my new swimsuits.

And this is what I changed into when I got back inside. These are the Boyfriend Shorts from yesterday’s post with Vuori. I love them and wear them a lot when I’m ready to change out of my clothes but not ready to put on pajamas.

This was the following Monday. (Pardon the mess behind me, we’re having some work done in our master bath.) This is one of my favorite outfits from last summer, and it’s all still available. The tank and sandals are on sale, too.

I had a photo shoot on Tuesday, and then I went to the mall to kill some time before a microblading touchup appointment. For some reason, I forgot to photograph that outfit, so I just wore it again on Wednesday.

I also took this picture at some point. I wear this tee a lot for gym workouts, but it also pairs well with my new Vuori boyfriend joggers in this oyster heather for lazy days at home.

On Thursday, I mostly worked from home, so I just kept on the outfit I wore to walk the dog that morning… yep, more Vuori!

I had some try-ons I wanted to do on Friday, so I showered and dressed early in the day, and I kept this outfit on afterwards.

This washable silk tee was a splurge, but one of you recommended it to me, so I had to try it when I saw it was on sale. It’s a great little top that I can see wearing for years, so I caved and kept it.

I tried it both untucked and front-tucked, and it works both ways. I’ll usually wear a belt when I front-tuck it.

We made last minute dinner plans at a nearby restaurant with friends for that evening, so I broke out the white denim. I paired them with a navy blouse, and then I debated a few neutral shoe choices.

Stuart Weitzman NearlyNude (8) // Dolce Vita Paily Slide (7.5) // Vince Camuto wedges (8)

They all look perfectly fine, but I settled on the cognac wedges. They seemed the most casual of the three, and I didn’t want to overdo it.

So this was the final look, complete with makeup and accessories. I also carried my Tory Burch Miller Hobo in the Light Umber, which I just discovered is $50 less on the Tory Burch website than it is at Nordstrom.

Saturday was the day we went to the wine tasting and outdoor music festival with Paul’s mom. I thought a casual dress was the way to go, so I tried on this one first.

But the drawstring waist was bugging me, so I ended up wearing one of my Eileen Fisher ones. I added silver hoops and my coin layer necklace, and a white and silver bracelet to coordinate with the white sandals.

These slides are really pretty, by the way. I don’t think these photos do them justice. I love the way they did the leather cut-out Double T logo in the same color as the sandal. I don’t have any trouble walking in them, so they’re definitely more suited to narrow feet.

And then this is what I wore last Sunday… this sweater fits so much better since my surgery! I went with delicate jewelry and flat sandals to keep the outfit casual and understated.

That afternoon, we got together with some friends on their backyard patio. This t-shirt came in the mail this week, and it was perfect for the casual gathering.

Good Vibes tee (S) // Wit & Wisdom shorts (6) // Birk Siena (39) // Lagos earrings // LOFT bracelet

And that brings us to Memorial Day! I started out wearing this to walk the dog. I took a picture because both pieces are new versions of tried and true favorites, and they’re both on sale.

I’m a huge fan of this tank for gym workouts and summer running, so I grabbed another color. (There are still a few sizes left in this pink camo.) And these are my favorite running shorts. Size up in the shorts, if ordering; I take a medium.

Ater I showered off, I pulled on shorts and a top for a Target run with my daughter.

Michael Stars tee (OS) // 7FAM shorts (28; similar for less) // Birk Madrid (39) // Lagos earrings

When we got back, I went up and changed into a swimsuit and coverup to host some friends by the pool for the afternoon.

I changed back into the shorts and tee for dinner afterwards, and this is what I wore yesterday. I worked for a while in the morning, and then I ran to the grocery store in the afternoon before picking up my daughter from her jazz band rehearsal.

Then it was back home to throw a quick dinner on the table before I hosted some ladies from our church for a movie night. We watched The Most Reluctant Convert – The Untold Story of C.S. Lewis, for anyone who’s interested. It was a little slow, but very good. If you’re a C.S. Lewis fan, you’ll like it.

  1. Wow, glad I refilled my coffee mug before starting your post!! I loved all your outfits and am glad you kept the orchid Birks. They look great with your outfits! I bought a pair of yellow leather thong sandals last summer and find myself wearing them a ton, even though I don’t wear yellow clothing!!
Sometimes I feel like I’m changing clothes multiple times a day, depending on my activities, but I don’t mind. I’m just so happy to “out and about”, almost “normal”!!

  2. It’s miserably hot and humid here, so staying inside with the doors closed to keep the heat out is our only way to cope. Seeing you wear your lavender colored Birk’s with jeans and a black top gave me ideas of how I can put my lilac Birk’s to use, so thank you! The sweater that you wore to church last Sunday is beautiful and that outfit looks great. I’m so glad that thus far, you are very happy about having the reduction done. It is amazing how long it takes our bodies to fully recover from general anesthesia. Have a great day!

    1. Yeah it was nasty yesterday. Our a/c couldn’t keep up, and I finally went and laid down on my bed with my ceiling fan on high just to get some relief before my guests arrived. It’s better today, thankfully.

  3. So many cute outfits! Love switching to summer clothes, Finally, I might need to splurge on some Vuori pieces. I just thought about your older posts, it seems like you paid a lot more attention to purse choices. There seemed to be one with every outfit. I’m too lazy to change my purse so I pay attention more to your fashion choices.

  4. What an action packed post! So many goodies! Just wondering if you’ve been able to test out the new Birks enough to compare; I’ve had the Arizona soft bed for 4-5 years now and love them and also the Gizeh Birka-flo for a couple of years and finally about broken them in finally(regular footbead). Did you get your usual size in these featured today? I’ve been debating which ones to try next, slightly narrow foot with sorta high instep.
You look great! Glad you’re progressing so nicely!

    1. I never had the Arizona or Gizeh but I did try them at one point and didn’t like them on me. I got my usual size for Birks, I always wear 39. These that I linked are the narrow sizes at Zappos, so they should work for you. With a high instep, I would think the loosest setting on the strap would fit fine. I used the tightest setting b/c my feet are so flat.

  5. Wow!!!!! Great post. Lots of great outfits. You have so much to choose from. You are very busy socially. That is so good. We’ve all been isolated too long over the years and its so great to get out and about and have people over.

  6. I love all of your outfits and shoes! If you were going to walk long distances, which shoes would you wear? We are going to Europe for 2 weeks and I want to look fashionable but also be comfortable. I am thinking of bringing one pair of sneakers and one pair of sandals. I love my P448 sneakers but I don’t know if they will be the best for walking all day, every day!

  7. So glad to see you out and about! I am still loving those Vince Camuto wedges! Summer hit here hard and fast. Hot and humid is all we will see for the foreseeable future.
