A Casual Dress Alternative for Spring

Now that spring is on the horizon and we’re getting back to some semblance of normal, the events are piling up! I’m not much of a fan of dresses, but I’ve recently added two jumpsuits to my spring closet.

This one is on the more casual end of the spectrum, although I dressed it up for an outfit I might wear to lunch with friends or a casual event like a baby shower or graduation.

Cloth & Stone jumpsuit c/o (size S) // Dolce Vita mules c/o (size 7.5; also at Bloomies & Nordstrom) // Coach handbag // Baublebar earrings // Baublebar necklace one & two // bracelet c/o

I like how this one has a bit of that utility jumpsuit vibe, but the lightweight tencel fabric is great for spring and summer. They cuffed the hems on the website, and I kind of like that look.

They’re a tad long on me like this, but I think the cuffs make them look more casual. I might try that with flat sandals and see how I like it.

For this look, I wore block heel slide sandals in a creamy shade of off-white. The pebbled leather is soft and supple, and they’re extremely comfortable considering the height.

I love the blonde wood grain on the stacked block heel and the 1/2″ platform. These shoes run true to size; I sized down half, as I usually do in slides.

To brighten up the look, I chose these textured white hoops. Earrings often get hidden behind my dark hair, but these show up nicely.

I also added a pair of gold chain necklaces, which are very much on trend at the moment. There is a larger link necklace and a smaller one, and both are adjustable so you can get the length you want.

Then the stone bracelet and Coach shoulder bag bring in more of those ivory and gold tones to complete the look.

I’m definitely curious to try this jumpsuit in a more casual look, with flat sandals and cuffs. I’ll keep you posted!

  1. Oh my goodness! I love this 😍. Such a great look on you!!

The website says it runs true to size but also to “size down if in between sizes”…thoughts on sizing?

    Thank you!

  2. I love jumpsuits, though they are hard for me to find that fit well because I’m high-waisted. I may order this as my 2 sleeveless jumpsuits are a knit fabric so they look very casual. This would have lots of versatility. Love the look of the shoes you show with them, but the heel is a little bit too high for me.

  3. I love this on you! I’m interested in a two piece look so that it could look like a jumpsuit without the inconvenience in the restroom 😉Any ideas?

  4. PS FYI…… My comment posted right away, so that is fixed. But just to let you know, I did NOT check the box. Should I be checking it? I assumed no if I can’t get the email comments still.

  5. I am curious if you like jumpsuits more than dresses, especially if you are going to be out and about long enough that a visit to the ladies room will be necessary. I am not a fan of having to undress to use the bathroom.

  6. I LOVE this look on you! Everything, jewelry, shoes, purse, style and color of jumpsuit are beautiful independently and look great together! I don’t own a jumpsuit but am definitely inspired to go out and try a few. Thank you for the inspiration!

  7. Hi Jo-Lynne,

Such a cute jumpsuit. I promised myself I would never buy another one. They can be really inconvenient. Unfortunately this one makes me want to rethink that decision. Thanks for trying to keep us all on trend.

  8. I love this jumpsuit on you and am wondering, I am only 5′ 1″ and I don’t mind having the legs hemmed, but am curious if the thigh area is looser or tighter fitting? I know you have quite thin legs. I am a short waisted pear.

  9. Girl, you look great in a jumpsuit! And what a great example of stepping outside your comfort zone & trying something new. Love Love!

    1. Looks fabulous, you and the ensemble. Question, do you find the shoes hard to walk in? I just got them and I feel the pitch is really high. I wore heels and platforms all the time pre thing that shall not be named. Perhaps I am used to no shoes or sneakers still working from home. They look so good with all the straight leg ankle jeans as I have short legs. Can you walk in yours?
