A little black dress is one of the most versatile pieces you can have in your wardrobe. Every lady has one, or she should. Black can feel a bit heavy in the summertime, but styling a LBD for summer is fun and easier than you might think. HINT: It’s all about the accessories. Sometimes I like to style a LBD for summer with metallics. Pastels are always a good option, or a bright color palette is fun too.
My husband and I went out to dinner last night to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, and I wore this simple black dress. I had just treated myself to a mani/pedi (thank you, Mom, for giving me a spa G.C. for my birthday last month!!) and I painted my nails a bright orangey-red, so I decided to go with accessories in those tones and my new leopard wedge sandals. I love leopard with orange or red. It creates such a great contrast.
Outfit Details: Toad & Co. Samba Wave Tank Dress | Sam Edelman Reid Wedge Sandal | Stella & Dot Sardinia Bracelet | Tory Burch FitBit Bracelet | Stella & Dot Reverie Chandelier Earrings | S&D Maylee Ring | 3-disc necklace via Stitch Fix | red envelope clutch (old; similar)
Hope y’all have a lovely weekend!
So Pretty! I ordered my sandals and sized up 1/2 size so hopefully they fit! Love orange, black & leopard! The dress is Killer! Lisa
Thanks, Lisa! I like that it’s sort of casual (and verrrry comfy) so I can dress it up or down. 🙂
I want those sandals! I love how you can pull the outfit together with the orange without it looking like Halloween!
LOL, I didn’t even think about that! 🙂 I think these accessories are more red than orange, but yeah… that is a danger in mixing black and orange. 🙂
Ahh,, must be my monitor then. In any case, they are awesome!
I adore black and orange! its a fav combo for me. and those SHOES!!!

You look great in this outfit and I love orange & leopard together too. We celebrated our anniversary this past week and I totally chose a LBD too! You can never go wrong. Happy 20th!

Very pretty outfit on you. And can I just say – you look so much taller than 5’5 to me! Hope you have a great weekend.
The orange is super fun I love the purse. Great Look
You look amazing! Congratulations on your 20th Wedding Anniversary! May God bless your union with many more.
That dress fits you beautifully, looks like it was made for you showing off your slim legs & arms. While I’m commenting, ages ago I asked you about the Gilmore Girls suitability for my 11yo daughter & I was grateful for your advice which I duly took but when I tried to reply back a ‘thanks’ my computer wasn’t having any of it – so thanks for taking the time to reply????
Aw, you’re welcome. Did you decide to watch it at all or no? I really loved it, but by the end, I wasn’t letting my girls watch with me. I thought it got too mature.
I haven’t yet, not on Netflix here in Ireland so would have to invest in a dvd box set so it keeps getting pushed down the list of priorities when it comes to spending money! Daughter will prob be old enough to watch it by the time I get my hands on it!
LOL, well, that’s one way to solve the problem. 🙂
You looked so put together, per usual! I actually don’t own a LBD, I guess I should remedy that. 🙂
Shockingly enough, I don’t actually own a little black dress because I prefer a certain waistline that seems to pop in and out of season. I’m probably going to have to make one myself! Love the accessories. Very “in” right now!
Love the leopard with the LBD!
