To know me is to know how much I love wearing white denim in the spring and summer. So when a reader recently asked if white jeans are still in style for 2025, I was a little taken aback. Honestly, I hadn’t even considered the question. To me, white jeans are practically synonymous with summer dressing.

I think they look so crisp and fresh, and they pair beautifully with everything from neutrals to pastels to brights. But beyond that, they’ve always felt like a timeless wardrobe staple that defies trends. White jeans just are. Or… are they?
That got me thinking, so I started paying attention.
What I’m Seeing for White Jeans in 2025
The first thing I noticed was that “the kids” aren’t really wearing them these days. (By “kids,” I mean my college-age daughter and her friends.) I’m not saying we should look to the younger crowd as the ultimate authority on what we will or won’t wear, but their choices often give a glimpse into where trends are headed.
Next, I checked the retailer that most aligns with my personal style (EVEREVE, of course!) to see what they’re showing this season. I was surprised to see almost no white jeans featured on the front page of the New Arrivals. They do style some of their tops with white jeans here and there, but I had to scroll through a few pages before I saw any white denim featured at all.

What I am seeing is a lot of off-white options, every shade of blue jeans (from light to dark), and lots of looser linen and twill pants that feel easy and relaxed for summer.
Then I turned to the influencers I follow for style inspiration—especially the ones in their late 30s and 40s who tend to balance modern trends with wearable looks. White denim is still in the mix, but it’s often in softer shades like ecru or ivory, and it’s styled in a more intentional way.
Instead of being the default choice for every polished denim outfit (the way I tend to wear mine), white jeans are showing up as part of sleek black-and-white looks or light, tonal outfits that feel fresh and modern for 2025.

So, Are White Jeans in Style for 2025?
The short answer: yes—but maybe not in quite the same way we’ve been wearing them for the past few years. They’re still a chic option for summer, but they feel more purposeful now and less like the default every time you want to elevate a denim outfit.
If you love your white jeans as much as I do, but want to make sure you’re styling them in a way that feels current for 2025, here are a few tips:
- Make sure your white jeans are a current style. Right now, I’m seeing mostly relaxed full-length straight-leg and wide-leg jeans.
- Try softer shades. Ivory, ecru, and other muted whites are everywhere this season and give a more elevated vibe.
- Go tonal. Pair white jeans with a crisp white top or other light neutrals like beige, tan, or blush for a fresh, monochromatic look.
- Add contrast. Mix in unexpected accents like black sandals or a black bag for a sleek, modern twist.
- At the end of the day, wear what you love. Wider-leg styles might be trending, but I’m not giving up my white flares anytime soon!

Alternatives to White Jeans for a Polished Summer Look
White jeans have been my go-to for years when I want a crisp, dressed-up casual outfit in the warmer months, and I can’t see myself setting them aside entirely. That said, I’m starting to think about mixing in a few other options.
If you’re ready to switch things up too—or if white jeans were never really your thing—there are plenty of modern alternatives that offer the same polished vibe with a fresh twist. Each of these pieces can work to create that “pulled-together but not overdone” feel we love about white jeans.
- Ecru or Ivory Denim
These softer, muted shades feel a little more current than bright white and are easier to wear if you’re worried about keeping them pristine. - Relaxed Linen or Twill Pants
Lightweight and breathable, these styles give off an effortlessly chic look—perfect for pairing with tanks, blouses, and strappy sandals. - Matching Sets
Coordinated tops and bottoms (in linen, cotton, or even knit fabrics) are having a big moment right now. They make getting dressed easy while still looking intentional and pulled together. - Wide-Leg Trousers
Flowy neutral trousers in shades like tan, cream, or olive can be dressed up or down and are having a big moment this summer. - Midi Skirts and Dresses
If you prefer a feminine twist, a breezy midi skirt or an easy summer dress can easily take the place of white jeans for brunch, date night, or summer events. Both styles give you that polished, pulled-together look with minimal effort.

Final Thoughts
White jeans may not be the “it” piece for summer 2025, but I certainly wouldn’t call them outdated. With a few fresh styling ideas (or by trying one of the alternatives above), you can keep your summer style feeling polished and modern. And at the end of the day, if you love them, wear them with confidence. That’s always the most stylish choice.
Your turn!
What do you think—are white jeans still going strong for you? On the back burner? Or were you never much of a fan to begin with?

This is a very timely topic for me! I live in the suburbs but spent last weekend in a hip, urban neighborhood nearby. I couldn’t help noticing that I was the only one wearing white jeans! I love my white jeans, but may have to incorporate some of your suggestions to be more current.
Thanks for the ideas and all you do!
I noticed this too when I wore white jeans and a floral blouse to dinner in Boston last month. (Not sure if it’s PC to say, but I felt like the old lady in the room!)
Very interesting! I guess I don’t think of them as an urban look, and I do love a more urban vibe, but where I live in the suburbs (the exurbs, really, it’s on the edge of rural), they seem very appropriate for church and dinners out and things. And when I went to Florida in the spring, I wore them a lot.
I always feel like I need current white denim in my closet. I bought two new pairs this year and ditched the old. And you know what? I never wear them. Ever. I didn’t in the past either. I’m not sure why I feel the obligation to own them. I think they are generally very white, hot and stiff. But I clearly like the idea of them.
I don’t have any right now (well, I might, a lot of my stuff is in storage), but I almost never wore mine either. But I always had to have at least one pair. I have a pair of ecru drawstring pants that I do wear.
This is the same thing that happens to me with white denim.
I live in Massachusetts and wear my white jeans, wide and straight leg, all summer. I wear them as often as I can to get as much use of them until Labor Day rolls around. Yes, I’m kind of a rule follower, but mostly because white jeans don’t wear well in the snow and mud. I can’t imagine that they’d ever be out of style!
I think it could be a bit of a regional thing, too! As someone who went to college on the North Shore of Boston and visits family in Maine every summer, they seem very “New England” to me.
Thank you Jolynne! I also have never given a thought to white jeans being out of style! They are an automatic just update the silhouette and away we go. But this post and your thoughts on how to approach this has me thinking too. I really love that you’ve said there are even silhouettes your aren’t giving up anytime soon. They just fit you, your body and personal style esthetic too well! I think this is one of the fun things about being over 50! I want to look as if I’m current on the trends but not slave to them. Like what I LOVE is what determines my personal style! At my age I can finally do that with confidence! Hallelujah! ❤️Krista
Amen to that! 🙂 It’s a fine line, I do like to look current, but I also want to be true to my personal style, which I’ve really been able to hone in on in the past few years.
Very timely post. I too am noticing a lot less people wearing white jeans right now. Instead it’s white linen, or like you said, off-white or ecru jeans and pants. The cropped style jeans seem to be out (at least in my area). Full length pants and jeans all the way. I see a lot of dresses and skirts on women too- both midi and short (on all ages) as well as shorts (out in restaurants which I haven’t seen in the past).
I went to a friend’s birthday party over the weekend and wore my full length white jeans with my new Evereve black blouse (shown in your photo above & I love it😊) It was a mixed age group and there was a variety of linen pants and dresses worn. I liked what I wore and felt cute and comfortable. I love my linen pants too (they’re perfect for Southern California summers). But I love white jeans and will continue to wear them.
Good point Heather! Maybe it’s not that white jeans are going out of style so much as that they’re taking a backseat to white linen pants instead? A welcome swap for those of us in warm climates! Now to find white linen that’s not embarrassingly see thru! 😬
That is truly the hardest part of finding the right pair of white linen pants! For me, Tommy Bahama’s white linen pants have worked well (not see-through).
I wish I liked linen pants, but I really am not a huge fan of them. If I wear them, they cannot have an elasticized waist. I want a flat waist with a zipper and button or hook & eye closure.
Did you keep the black Carolina pair from JCrew? They looked really nice on you and I think they also came in white. (I have them in black)
I didn’t but I sort of wish I had. I decided I probably wouldn’t wear them. Maybe white or light beige would have been better.
It’s funny to me that white jeans would ever be considered “out of style”. To me, they are just a classic look. I will say though that in Texas, we honestly just don’t wear a lot of jeans overall in the summer months. (April-September) When it’s over 100 degrees, jeans are just too heavy and hot. I will continue to wear my white jeans in the spring and fall when the temperature is in the 80’s. lol
White jeans were my go to last summer for church or when I just wanted to look more polished . Well thanks to menopause, even going up a size they just feel tight to me in all of the wrong places .
I found a great pair of white linen pants on athleta and those have now been my go to. They require a bit more effort to keep them not looking like a wrinkled mess but I feel better in them
I haven’t been reaching for my white denim this summer. Instead I’ve been wearing cropped cargo pants, wide linen pants (similar to the ones on Evereve), and my maxi dresses. I bought new maxi dresses and pulled out a couple I loved but were out of style. I love maxi dresses and hope they stay in for a long time.
I love white pants in summer but just last week I put on my straight leg and realized that they didn’t seem as ‘fresh’ looking as the wide legs I bought this year from J Crew. I also have a pair of white loose fitting linen that I’ve been wearing when I want to dress up a bit. I think white pants will always have a place in a summer wardrobe but the style of the pants and the styling is the key.
I love my white jeans but I’m also loving the ecru color as well. This summer I have taken up tonal styling with white jeans whereas in the past I would choose a bold color to wear with white. I think they always look sharp without looking too young or old.
Yes, how you style them is key!
I’ve always said white jeans are a regional thing. I just don’t see them as much in PNW while many east coast and southern states seem to embrace.
I have plenty of white shorts I wear but as many white jeans and pants that I’ve tried have not found a place in my closet. They’re not “me”
So, I took to ChatGPT to ask and my suspicions were affirmed. I’m glad you wrote about this. I’m glad someone asked! I’ve always been intrigued how often you wear white bottoms, but I do think for me, it’s simply preference.
I can totally see not wearing them much in the PNW… I definitely don’t wear my white jeans/pants when it’s raining out. Being in the Bay Area, that isn’t often and there is a lot of white here 🙂
Shelly, I suspect you’re right about them being regional. I’m in the south and actually wear mine more in spring than summer (unfortunately it’s just too hot to wear jeans in summer here!). But I love them with pastels in spring. And I keep looking for the unicorn of white linen pants that aren’t see thru – it if I ever find them, they’d definitely get some wear in summer!
Yes, I agree that they’re a regional thing. I think that’s true for a lot of these types of questions. Like the whole issue of hosiery—that topic is always polarizing, and it often comes down to region.
So like you, when I first saw this question/article my first thought was “they just are”. Colors and neutrals are ever really “out” they just might not be trending. And after reading the article I still feel that way.
However, as I read your article, I realized that how I’m wearing my white jeans HAS actually changed in the way you described which I find really interesting!
“Things that make you go hmmm…”
Interesting post, I had not even thought about white jeans being out of style but that said I have not worn or even thought about wearing white jeans this season whereas in the past they would of been my go to summer staple and after two vacations (one in Maui for a few weeks and last week in Santa Barbara) I have to say I saw only a few women wearing white jeans in Santa Barbara and they were older women, no jeans at all in Hawaii, completely different vibe.
White jeans never were my thing, because white is too stark against my warm toned skin. Instead, I opt for jeans in soft off-whites, ecru, and ivory. Same with shorts. My first decision with clothing is always to ask myself if the color flatters me. 🙂
In the Northeast the summer weather has either been rainy, or really hot and humid. Way too warm for me to consider jeans( no matter what the color) or too muddy for me to consider white (or ecru or ivory) bottoms, no matter what the material! It has really been a skirt or dress summer for me!
What a timely conversation! Over the weekend, I was shifting clothes around in my closet and realized that the pile of white denim in my drawer had barely been touched this year. I have all the styles, but I just haven’t been gravitating towards them. I live a casual life out in the country with grandchildren next door and work from home so we’re talking VERY casual. I only wear pants in the summer when I go out or if I “go to town”. I’ve always worn white denim, but my lightweight fabric pants have replaced them without me noticing. I have a couple of pairs of cropped Quince linen pants– they were a lifesaver on my trip to Egypt last month. I also have wide-leg line pants from Marine Layer and Athleta, as well as a couple of pairs of “swishy pants”. Those are my go-to for dinner out, whether we’re inside or on a patio. They’re also what I wear anytime I don’t wear shorts. I’m not sure I’m ready to donate them yet, but if I find I’m not wearing them next season, out they go.
Interesting. I really don’t have many (any?) lightweight fabric pants, so that’s probably why I keep reaching for my white denim. I just don’t always like those styles as well on me, but I’m going to be more open to trying some now.
Sounds like a great subject for a post! What to wear instead of white jeans. This time of year, summer items are on sale, which is a bonus —especially for those of us who live in places where it will still be warm for a while. I have 2 pairs of the Marine Layer Allison pants and love them.
Heck no! Not giving up my white jeans! And I can’t get on board with ecru jeans. Ecru linen – yes! Ecru khakis- yes. Ecru jeans just look dirty to me.
My feelings exactly.
I love my white straight leg jeans and wear them 4 seasons. In fall/winter they are especially fun with a black leather jacket and boots. Not digging the off-white ecru thing at all.
This is an interesting topic. I’ve always loved wearing white jeans but I haven’t reached for them once this year. I’ve been trying to figure out why and maybe it’s because I haven’t been seeing them. I just kind of feel like they’re a little too much every time I’m thinking about wearing them.
I can’t wear any color jeans right now – it is so horribly hot! I do still have my white jeans though for when this heat wave breaks.
Well, this post got me thinking.
I’ve always had white jeans in fact several pairs and I’ve always loved wearing them in the spring and summer and would wear them right into Fall until at least Labor Day but I find as of late I’m not reaching for them as often as I used to.
I’m actually reaching for my white linen pants more or looser tie jeans or just linen in general .They just seem more up-to-date to me and more comfortable. I’ve also had a hard time updating my white jeans to a more current style!
I like yourself have some younger influencers that I tend to follow and to be truthful I don’t see any of them showing or wearing much of white denim these days! I also don’t see a lot of people wearing them where I live either! But rest assured I’ll always have at least one pair in my closet 😂
I didn’t realize I view white denim as dated until you posted this. Anytime you’ve written a post about white denim or posted pictures of a white denim outfit, I have scrolled past because it just didn’t vibe with me. To be fair, I don’t think I’ve ever owned white denim pants, just shorts. I agree with those who say you should wear what makes you comfortable, but to my eye, the outfits with white denim pants can appear matronly. I have been wearing white linen pants for the past two summers and am most comfortable with that choice.
I was actually just thinking about summer denim a couple days ago. I’m not seeing much of it anywhere in any color or length. I live in Cincinnati and, since May, we have traveled to NYC, Vermont, Asheville, and Hilton Head. No denim shorts, skirts, dresses, or jeans hardly at all. In fact, to my eye, when I do see it, it looks very dated.
My theory is that this has a lot to do with linen having such a moment and, also, full elastic waists being popular with the younger set.
Plus, as someone mentioned, it’s been a very hot and rainy summer.
White jeans are one of those items that I tell myself that I “need” but I rarely wear even we they feel current.
Linen is definitely having a moment. I really dislike full elastic waists on me, so I think that’s partly why I don’t have many alternatives to white jeans in my closet. Still, I’m going to try to be more open-minded to other options.
Look for linen pants with flat fronts
And if they do have elastic around the” back only” they seem to fit better look better
I feel like a balloon with all around elastic.
Also a tip from my most stylish mother… If they have side pockets that wrap to the side….go up a size so that everything at your hips lies flat and smooth.
I wear my white jeans still. Found a pair at Evereve last year that are ankle length, straight, raw hem jeans and very thin material for summer. I love them! Where I live I see white pants all the time. Maybe I will update them but so far not letting go!
Where do you live?
I live in Oklahoma
In my corner of NY, they have never been the dominate jean choice during the summer. I was surprised to see them popping up everywhere in the city this spring -all wide leg(cropped and full length). Now that we’ve hit the warmer months, white linen is all the rage.
It’s interesting, because I was someone who hadn’t owned a single pair of light-colored jeans since high school. But last year I saw ecru jeans mentioned on a lot of fashion blogs, and bought a pair of those. And then I noticed you and other bloggers wearing white ones, and bought a pair in the crop flare style. I’ve enjoyed wearing them with the nautical stripes and boat shoes that were also new to me this year.
When I started browsing jeans I’d like to buy, though, I realized I wasn’t looking at any additional whites. They feel a bit limited to me, because while they seem to require a hot day visually they don’t feel cool on. I wear them to work, where the AC is nice and cold, but if I’m going to church or any kind of outdoor occasion in summer I’d rather wear linen pants or a dress. We have a big family party next weekend and I’d originally planned to wear an outfit including those jeans, but it’s been so hot and awful that I bought a guava-pink tiered cotton dress to wear instead!
Yes! I think you perfectly clarified for me why I just don’t ever get a good cost-per-wear out of my white jeans. By the time it feels seasonally appropriate ( and the Spring rainy, muddy days have passed), the heat and humidity has kicked in and putting on a pair of jeans feels like a miserable idea🥵
Where do you live? I do find it very interesting how region plays into this question. It gets quite hot here in Philly, but I still wear jeans (all colors) all through the summer. It’s usually cold indoors.
So interesting that this question came up… I’m not sure I even realized it, but I am definitely NOT reaching for my usual white mother jeans this spring or summer. I have in the past, always loved my white/ecru jeans. I do have a pair of wide leg off white jeans that I am wearing. But the others have just been sitting. I work at Anthropologie and I can tell you we don’t have a single pair of white jeans on the sales floor right now. Very interesting! Thanks for bringing this up and thanks for all you do to keep us looking our best!
Oh, fun to hear what you have (or don’t) in store! Where do you live?
I live in Columbia, Maryland
Love white (jeans, dresses, and shorts) in the summer and wear a lot of it even more so now that we are back in Texas. That said, I have not worn my Paige Laurel Canyon white flare jeans which I bought either last summer or the summer before and received compliments on. Your post made me think why I haven’t reached for them. I was out of the country for half of June and I just haven’t gone out that much in the evenings. Dresses are my go-to during the day because of the heat and usually wear jeans for evenings. I just might wear them this weekend!
I wonder if the reason you’re not seeing them featured by retailers is in part due to the fact that they’re already rolling out fall items and trying to move summer stuff out (keep selling it but not order more)? As opposed to looking at the same retailers in spring or early summer. I’ve been noticing for several years now that they’ve been rolling out each season earlier and earlier. To the point that it’s sometimes hard to find the current season.
Agree, Megan. I worked at a JJill for 12 years and we would get white bottoms (jeans, chinos, linen pants) in the store around April! By June or July they were practically gone and we weren’t bringing in any more. But that was when white bottoms were at a deep discount, if you could find any in your size!!
Yes, that did occur to me when I was writing the post. EVEREVE still has lots of summer, though, and not much fall yet. But I think that is a factor in why I didn’t see as many white denim options on the New Arrivals.
So interesting that this was brought up… I hadn’t even realized it but I have NOT been reaching for my white/ecru mother jeans at all this spring and summer. I have always been a white jeans girl. I do have a pair of wide leg off white jeans that I have been wearing. I think it’s the style that makes them look more updated/cool. Interestingly, I work at Anthro and come to think of it we have not had any white jeans on the sales floor at all this spring and summer.
Thanks for all the work you do to keep us looking FRESH!
ENJOY SUMMER, maybe not in white jeans LOL!
I purchased 3 new pairs of true white jeans (full length, ankle, and crop) this season to replaces ones from 20/21/22 that had gotten snug or were looking dated. I also have options in cream, ecru, and wheat that I had gotten in 23/24. I finding I’m reaching for true white about half the time and the off whites the other half – mostly due to which looks better with certain tops. Appreciate the post and the discussion! It’s nice to have other options, but I’m also in the camp of “I don’t think I’ll ever give them up entirely”.
I love my white jeans in the spring and summer. I can not see not wearing them. I have ecru jeans but I don’t find myself reaching for them at all. Maybe I will in the fall. But I love the freshness of white jeans and I don’t care if they aren’t featured by the “in” retailers or stylists. They are my style!!
Yes! I wear my ecru and off white jeans all fall and winter. I live in New Jersey where it can still be pretty warm up through November. I love ecru (or we can call them winter white) with all my sweaters and blazers and chunky cardigans.
Yeah, for some reason, I don’t really care for ecru. I tried, but they don’t seem to go with the rest of my wardrobe. I love the crisp white! I can definitely see ecru working better into the fall, though.
I have a pair of white jeans and like them in theory but honestly never wear them. I like jeans and wear them all the time though. If I do happen to wear the white jeans, I will use your tips. Thanks to the reader and thanks to you for updating us.
So, I got a package from GAP today–that was suppose to be that black&white striped cardigan–instead it was a huge mens black hoodie with the logo in the front!!! Grrrr! Now, I have to return an order they screwed up on and I’m pretty hesitant to try and re-order the cardigan! I just got off the phone with customer service–grrrrrrr
Well, that’s annoying!
I have a pair of white jeans that I have yet to wear this summer–something about them look alittle dated and “old lady” looking to me. I, instead, have reached for cream colored jeans instead of white. Maybe its just me–I dunno
What color top, other than off white, would you wear with the Madewell skirt. The marching top is sleeveless, so, is a no for me. Thanks?
What Madewell skirt do you mean?
Oops, sorry. It’s the Kassidy skirt from Evereve.
I bought new white jeans this year but have only worn them once. This year it’s all about linen pants. I wear them whenever I go out! It’s just to hot in SE Texas to wear jeans of any color!
Yeah, I imagine the heat down there is unlike anything we see in Philly!
I’ve migrated to these in ecru: They are extremely comfortable too!
I never gave a thought to whether or not white jeans were on trend or not. I love white jeans and have actually bought three new pairs this year, in full length boot cut and wide leg styles. I also love wearing wide legged white linen pants and white denim shorts. To my eye, there’s just something fresh and sophisticated looking about white bottoms. And, they mostly pair with anything so can be dressed up or down. I wear plenty of blue denim shorts too, but sometimes they seem fine for running errands, but too casual for going out to dinner. I do want to try an all white look, top and bottom, but haven’t pulled the trigger on that yet.
Same, I love my blue denim shorts, but I would never wear them out to dinner.
This is so interesting. I love my white denim, too, but just realized I’m not reaching for them as much this summer as I usually do. It’s so hot down here in Memphis that I’ve really jumped on the dress bandwagon. I’m wearing dresses almost daily.
As I read this post, I am wearing a white pair of Mother barrel jeans and a chocolate brown sleeveless top. If I’m going to wear a pair of white jeans, I tend to go for these. I do have the hustler ankle flare that you love, but tend to reach for these barrel jeans more frequently when I wanna wear white. I will definitely be looking around more at the different shades of white that the younger gals are wearing these days. Great post!
Those sound really cute and modern—definitely a current way to do white denim. Which style are they?
I love this article and love my white jeans for 2025!
Quick question for you. Are kimono still in style? Just wondering as I have many of them. 🤔
No, not really seeing many kimonos at the moment. That doesn’t mean you can’t wear them in a stylish way and look great, but it’s not the most current look.
Hi! Its me again!
When I hit the tab for the brown top, a sweater comes up. Thought you should know.
Have a great evening!
Thanks, I’ll fix it!
White jeans, pants and shorts have and will always be a summer staple. The only reason they r pushing ecru is 💰💰💰💰!
I read your post and thought “What”????
Then I really thought about it
And realized I’ve probably only worn mine twice so far this summer and my white denim skirt the same.
Maybe because there are so many more options available in linen pants -skirts -dresses -that make the denim feel not as current?
Yeah, probably… I mean, everything starts to look tired eventually, even if it’s a classic. Like a denim trucker jacket. Nothing is more classic than that, but it’s looking rather tired at the moment.
I will always wear my white and ecru jeans to church during the summer. The AC is full blast so never hot there. Anywhere else I don’t wear jeans in summer. This summer I have been wearing my linen pants. I’m building a collection of colors. I think one reason white jeans or pants aren’t popular is because they get dirty quick. I never wear them if I’m going to be eating.
So funny, I wear mine out to dinner all the time! And definitely to church.
I haven’t worn my white straight leg or flares yet this summer because honestly I haven’t had occasion to wear them! But I do have white cargo pants that I wear to work and my favorite white shorts…I love my white shorts
I did notice a lot of white shorts on the EVEREVE website.
Late to the comments but this was so interesting! I’m in MA & definitely still wearing my white jeans—I wore a favorite cropped wide leg pair today with a new brown Evereve top. I do think I’m wearing my white jeans differently lately. Not gravitating to the slimmer styles and wearing more neutral colors and newer silhouettes. I also love my full-length white denim flares but wear them more in the spring. It’s been too hot/humid for full-length jeans, so definitely wearing more linen pants, midi skirts & dresses this summer! I like the off-white versions too but think white jeans always feel like a staple here in New England?
Yeah, makes sense, I’m from New England (and the Mid-Atlantic area, of course) and they seem like such a classic summer staple to me.
I have the same outfit as you have on………the black blouse ( mine is navy blue from Gap) with white jeans. (mine are from Chico’s in 000 cropped which makes them perfect for me in so slimming girlfriend crops). Then a neutral shoe or once I wore a multi-colored sandal . I do have ecru I got last fall …they are Democracy petite 2 in kick flare cropped. White is still one of my favorite looks and guess we will wait and see. My daughter doesn’t wear white jeans either. I think most of us that love them will keep wearing them.
Yep, probably so! I do like mine, and I’ll wear them, but I have to say, this conversation is giving me pause. My biggest issue is, I don’t like the other options very much. I don’t love linen pants, for example. I only have one pair, and they’re black.
I only have one pair of linen too. They are Old Navy straight leg from 2 seasons ago. Dark olive green . They are hard to fit on a petite person – wide legs in linen especially.🤷♀️
I too can’t believe this is a topic, but nonetheless I read your blog and all of the comments! So many different opinions and such a great read.
I live in the CLE and love my white kick crops I purchased from Loft early spring. Wear them a lot. And white jean shorts. I love how a dark (black, navy) top looks in the summer with white bottoms. One of my favorite looks. I need to keep my eyes peeled to see if I’m the only one wearing white denim. lol
Cheers!
Yeah, it really is fun to read the different viewpoints!
The cream colored pants I wear are from Black and White, they’re called
Mid-Rise Pret-A-Pedi Straight Cropped Pants, in color Oat. They are utility looking and also roll up on the bottom. I just think they look way more modern and nicer than white! They are on sale!
I’m a little late to the party, but I like my white jeans still. I don’t feel like they’re “old lady”, to me they’re kind of a classic, not trendy but a classic silhouette. I have two pairs, Mother Weekender and Mother Insider. I also have an Ecru pair called Cream Puff, they’re Mother cropped Dazzlers. I haven’t worn any in the last couple months, but the weather has been so volatile this year, Spring and Summer, that it either feels too cold and messy outside to wear or it’s too hot, like right now. I rarely wear jeans in the summer, almost always wear shorts. I do wear white shorts and I have a red and black pair from Evereve that are linen blend, they’re kind of elevated so I wear them with wedges or cute slides and a going out top or linen vest. I also bought two Paige shorts, same style, that were pricey but kind of dressy and also casual so they’re very versatile. I like wearing dresses in the summer and took several with me on my trip to the Dominican Republic. Two of them were Lily Pulitzer, they always feel so appropriate in that climate. I did not bring any while dresses as I don’t have one that’s cool enough for that climate. Interesting debate!
I am finding that I’m reaching more for my ecru denim over white this season to pair with other neutrals, dark or light. But nothing beats crisp white denim with a bright blue shirt – the combo instantly channels the south of France for me, especially if you add a pop of yellow or make it striped!
I got rid of my white jeans after taking Adore Your Wardrobe course a few years ago and don’t miss them. As a pear shape, wearing white (especially wide leg white pants) on the lower half of my body is not really my best look. I think it’s important to keep body shape in mind before purchasing any clothing. Selfies are helpful!
I am wearing burgandy tops, loafers & Skechers with my white jeans. I bought hi rise straight legs Levis.
