Because it wouldn’t be a trip to Maine without the obligatory Jordan Pond House pictures…

Hands down, our favorite destination in Maine; we never miss an opportunity to go to the Jordan Pond House.

As you can see, my kids take their popovers very seriously.

And of course I had to take a picture of my lunch — the. best. lobstah. stew. EVAH. (You just can’t visit Maine without putting on a fake Downeast accent when you discuss lobstah.)

And I guess my husband finally decided if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em, because he took a picture of his lunch too — a lobster roll, which just might be the only lobster dish I have met that I don’t particularly care for.  I’m a bit of a purist.  I like my lobster with lots of butter and cream, but don’t go smothering it in mayonnaise and sticking it in a bun.  Bleh.

Afterwards we were too stuffed to waddle outside to the lawn and take pictures in front of the Bubbles as we usually do.  I did get a nice shot of my Grampa with my kids out in front of the Pond House.  That’s a treasure.

I just have to tell you about this man.  He’s 93 years old and still lives independently and goes to work every day.  It is his lake home where we stay when we visit Maine.  His mind is still as sharp as a tack.  I just think the world of him.  He’s the only one of my grandparents to know my kids, and I’m so grateful that we still have him with us.
