Happy Monday, and happy Labor Day to those of you here in the U.S.! It’s also the first day of September, which means it’s time for my monthly recap of the most-loved items and blog posts from the past month. Today I’ve rounded up August’s top sellers and most popular blog posts—your favorites all in one place.
And since it’s Labor Day, many of these pieces are on sale, along with the accompanying items I styled them with below. I did my best to label the sale finds, but if in doubt, click through to check, in case I missed something.
This list is heavy on jackets and outer layers. Clearly we’re all ready for cooler weather! And for once, the weather seems to be cooperating. It already feels like fall here in Philly, and I have a feeling we’ll be reaching for these jackets real soon. Footwear and accessories also made a strong showing this month, which makes sense as we all start shifting our wardrobes for the new season. Let’s get into it!

#1. cloth & stone Flap Pocket Zipper Shacket // This modern shacket with a sleek zip front and flap pockets has quickly become one of my favorite fall purchases. I love that it’s light enough to wear now but will also layer beautifully later in the season.

Those ballet flats are so cute! You wear them so well! Being below 5′ , I feel like I’m on the ground in flats and can’t reach things as easily. Do you have ideas for fall in-between weather to wear now till boots start up for winter? I live in the South and we don’t really have cool weather till November or December? I have a chunky pair of loafers in black ( I think Steve Madden) but they look clunky on my size 5 foot and haven’t worn them alot. I would love to find a pair casual enough for jeans but good enough to wear with ponte navy or black pants too. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!!
How about a loafer like this? It’s not clunky but it has a bit of a heel, and I love the stud details.
May I ask what size you are wearing in the Cloth & Stone Shacket? I had to size up in their denim dress this summer. TIA
I got the small. I usually take a small in their tops, but I haven’t tried their dresses.
I purchased the Caslon jacket in the ivory and can’t wait for our weather to cool down enough for me to wear it. I’m still contemplating ordering the striped sweater and the barn jacket from GAP Factory. If I really want them, I best press the button today. Have a great Labor Day!
Do you prefer the Steve Madden boots or the Blondo boots?
I like the look of the Steve Madden boots better (the suede is nicer to the touch, and the color is really pretty) but the Blondo are more practical because of being waterproof. Both are very comfortable, but Blondo has a little more cushion.
What socks do you wear with the blondo boots? Just ordered them. Hope the size 7 my usual size fits. I had planned to order 7 1/2 for extra toe room but sold out. I know I waited too late. Got the last Taupe color. Looks cognac to me.
I just wear any crew socks. I have some cashmere ones I like to wear with boots and some smartwool ones.
I do like that brown stripe sweater from the Gap–but I don’t want to pay shipping and didn’t really see anything else–the jeans you wore with them–my size was gone–and I already have a barn jacket in same color. Did you ever find anything at the Loft for fall that you liked and kept? I have a $15 bday coupon to use! (:
