Cheetah Tee Now & Later | 22 Days of Fall Fashion

It’s day 12 of 22 Days of Fall Fashion, which means we’re halfway through the series!

I’ve been holding off on sharing this outfit because I was hoping this t-shirt would get restocked… and by some miracle maybe go on sale again. It really is an amazing top and great quality, but even at the #NSale price, it was a major splurge.

Unfortunately, it’s still only available in a few sizes, and it’s still full price. But I love how these photos turned out, and I didn’t want to waste them, so I found a really good budget-friendly replacement option if you want to recreate this look.

This leopard print v-neck t-shirt from Amazon has a very similar color palette, and it’s only $16.99. It obviously has a v-neck rather than a crew, but some of you may prefer that anyway.

It’s also a little bit longer with a slightly more relaxed fit, but when you front-tuck it, it doesn’t really matter.

I really wish I’d thought to shoot this outfit with the Amazon version, but I think you can see that either top works with the rest of the pieces in this outfit.

A leopard or cheetah print tee is such a nice transition piece because you can wear it now with jeans or shorts and sandals, and the color palette gives a nod to fall.

Then when cooler weather arrives, you can swap the sandals for loafers or ankle boots and top it off with a denim jacket or cardigan.

The sandals I’m wearing in the Now outfit are the Marc Fisher Pava slides. They’re still fully stocked and 40% off, and I like how the shiny ball studs and cagey leather upper give the look a bit of an edge.

FYI, I sized down half in these, but I’ve heard others say they run true to size. I often have to size down in slides or I walk out of them.

With the Later version of this outfit, I’m wearing my trusty Everlane Day Loafer Mules. These are such good quality shoes, and very comfortable to walk in.

They’re also 40% off right now, but I recommend sizing up at least a half size in these. They definitely run small.

I’m wearing my black KUT From The Kloth Donna skinny ankle jeans with both looks.

These have a really nice fit, and the raw edges tone down the classic black denim. They run true to size, and they also come in petite sizes.

I accessorized with a few of my favorite Yurman pieces and my rag & bone sunnies.

While I like the simplicity of the first look, I love how the tan and black printed tee layers under a denim jacket. It’s certainly not a combination that’s new or different, but I think the color tones in both of these pieces complement each other so well.

Which is your favorite? Now or Later?

  1. I have the leopard tee in the crew next from Amazon got it last year.. and I can duplicate the later look except I don’t have black mules but taupe suede ones. Would that work? I guess i don’t wear black jeans that often and really don’t own many black shoes 🤷‍♀️.

  2. I like the now and later look equally.  I can attest to the good quality & comfort of the tee from Amazon, and i like that the v-neck is very modest.  This weekend we are going to have lows in the 50’s and highs in the 70’s.  The meteorologists still won’t say that we are done with the 80’s and low 90’s.  It might be safe for me to get my fall/winter clothes out of the attic since I already have my true warm season clothes out of my closet.  I hope the photo shoot went well!

  3. I really like this look. I went to the Amazon site and noticed if you slide over a few options there is A-Leopard03. I thought maybe it was an even closer match to the Cheetah Tee? I was wondering what you thought. It might not have the same cool undertones to the Cheetah Tee.

    1. Oh wow! I am so dumb for not checking out the others. The little images all looked the same and I thought they were all the same, just Amazon being wonky. Yes, that one is such a good dupe! I just ordered it to see and compare in person.

  4. Great look! Love them both! What size Amazon tee do you have on? I cannot understand their size guide. Haha! Such a big jump from M to L and it only goes by bust size for tee shirts. And the tunic sizes seem really off but I know amazon sizes sometime are whacky. Thanks!!

  5. I like both, but I think the “Now” is my fav. I like the edgy sandals! In January, before the ‘Rona, (as my grandchildren call it), I went to a comedy night in Baltimore and the young man who opened the act for a 50-something woman made a joke, looking out at the crowd of women there, that he sure was seeing an awful lot of cheetah. We all laughed, but then I find myself hesitating to buy it. LOL. I have a couple of pieces I like and will keep, but I’ve been obsessing over the zebra and tiger prints in black and white. I’m on the hunt for a mid-priced T.

    Chilly in Delaware this morning!

    1. I love both looks, so trendy and nice for Fall. I checked out the Amazon link and ordered the 3/4 sleeve. Thanks for adding that option!

  6. Here’s the question: For the budget one, would you choose the Amazon t-shirt, or the Caslon one from the NSale? Asking because it came back in stock and is on it’s way to my house. Are you wearing a small in the Amazon shirt?

    1. Hm, I feel like they’re different. The Caslon one is a little more feminine and cutesy. The Amazon one is more casual and edgy. But you can wear them interchangeably. Quality-wise, I’m not sure there’s much difference. The Caslon is a bit thinner.

  7. I love this top but just couldn’t justify the splurge even on the sale price. But thank you thank you for finding an option! And if you scroll to the right on the options they have it in a V-neck and a crewneck and even in long sleeves.  I just placed my order. Thank you so much for your hard work and helping us find more reasonable options.  😊

  8. I really love this outfit with the jean jacket and the black mules. It is so cute. I love wearing a jean jacket with everything I just think it gives it an edgier current look.

  9. My favorite is Later look, only because I’m ready for Fall and I really like the mules with this outfit.  Love the whole look on you for sure.  You better go somewhere just to wear it.

  10. I ordered the Amazon dupe and used your link!  I am leopard print obsessed but have a hard time finding flattering colors and prints.  Thanks so much for finding this one!!

  11. I normally wear a size 8 and noticed for the Amazon Tee that’s a size L. Did you go by the size chart, size up or size down? Thanks for posting a splurge and a save version for this look!

  12. Happy Fall, Jo-Lynne!
I’m liking both the now and later outfits ALMOST equally. Both are super cute, but I’m just not a fan of mules. I know mules are all the rage at the moment but I’ve never been into that trend which is kinda nuts because I’m such a shoe lover. That being said, the now look is my personal fave. Thanks for always bringing relevant content and for being a dependable fashion influencer. You rock! Hugs from smoky California.
