COFFEE TALK 10.27.19 ☕️

Greetings on this rainy Sunday morning in Philly! I tell ya, we seem to get more than our fair share soggy Sundays.

I wish I could send some of this rain to California. I hear the fires have already started up again this year. And then there’s been some crazy flash flooding in Texas, and that’s just as bad. If you’re in any of those affected areas, please know that you’re on my mind and I’m praying for safety for all involved.

We had a wonderfully event-free weekend planned, but we somehow managed to fill it. Both girls had plans on Friday night, so Paul and I went out to eat and got some much-needed catchup time.

Yesterday dawned sunny and pretty, so we decided to take advantage of the nice weather while it lasted, and we took the girls out to Lancaster County to Cherry Crest Adventure Farm. It was years ago when we went the last time, and R barely remembers it.

She and Paul did the corn maze, while C and I meandered around. It’s a pretty cool place, but it’s mostly geared to younger kids, so we entertained ourselves with a pig race and people watching. Oh, and the chicken karaoke was worth the price of admission. 🐔

Plus the scenery was just beautiful.

Last night I wasn’t feeling my best so we stayed in, and I started a new book. My sister-in-law is a prolific reader, and she usually leaves me with whatever book she was reading when she visits.

This time it was Eden, a novel about a family and their secrets. It’s one of those that flips back and forth between past and present, which I find mildly annoying at times, but I’m still hooked on the storyline.

So, before I go, there here are a few things I wanted to be sure to share with you . . .

Everlane is running a free shipping promo for today only. You can get free 2-day shipping on all U.S. orders until 9pm PT tonight. They do this every so often, so if you’ve had your eye on something, this is a great time to add to cart!

A few of my current favorites are this stroopwafel turtleneck, this cashmere rib v-neck, the link stitch crewneck sweater, my soft cotton v-neck, the texture cotton v-neck, this cashmere scarf, and of course my day market tote.

I realize with 40% off LOFT sales every other weekend and free shipping at so many stores, this doesn’t seem like big news, but I actually find it refreshing and enjoy supporting a company that doesn’t play games with their pricing.

And, speaking of LOFT sales . . . they’re having one this weekend. #shocker 😂

Use code BOO to get 50% off “treat yourself styles” and 40% off almost everything else. Also, shipping is free.

A few of my favorites are this hoodie sweater (pictured above), the v-neck twist hem top from last week’s try-on haul, and this ribbed open cardigan.

I also have my eye on this stripe cardi coat, this turtleneck poncho, this cowl neck tunic, and this cable sweater dress.

Oooh, and this flecked wrap sweater dress looks perfect for the holidays. (It also comes in tall, petite, and plus.)

Finally, J.Crew Factory has 50% off all their coats.

They’re not the quality of J.Crew coats, but their styling is very similar, and the pricing is definitely more budget-friendly. Also, this includes their puffer vests (and there’s a leopard one!)

And don’t miss 35% off full price styles at J.Crew with WEARNOW.

This includes the mockneck sweater from yesterday’s try-on haul, this pointelle mockneck, the 1988 cotton roll neck sweater, and my NYC tee; as well as some fun holiday styles like this gemstone sweater and this metallic lace tie neck top.

There’s also 20% off a $100+ Madewell purchase with NEWLEAF, 40% off at Ann Taylor with NEWRULES, and 30% off everything Old Navy with code HURRY.

Good grief, you’d think the holidays were coming or something.

Okay that’s it for me. I’m off to find my galoshes . . . it’s raining cats and dogs!

  1. It sounds like that all in all y’all have had a nice weekend!  It’s beautiful here this morning, and at the moment I feel Fall in the air, so I’m soaking it in.  We have actually had to turn our air back on over the past few days because it felt like summer outside.  Rain is supposed to return Tuesday, but we are still in severe drought, so we don’t need to complain.  It seems like a lot of stores are having some good sales now.  I heard that Wal-Mart started some Christmas sales because there are fewer shopping days between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year.  Have a blessed day!

      1. When I was growing up in the metro Atlanta area, it usually cooled down, for good, in early October.  Down here in south central GA, the extended warm weather is lasting longer than the norm.  It is going up in the 80’s today.

  2. What lipstick color are you wearing in the picture with the teal sweater?  I’m always on the lookout for a great color 🙂

    1. I was wearing an old Charlotte Tilbury color with this gloss on top  – https://shopstyle.it/l/9Afk in Cultured.

Unfortunately the lipstick got discontinued. I get soooo many requests for it, I am so bummed they stopped making it. I wear that lipgloss on top of all my lipsticks, and I love it.

I also line my lips with Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk – https://shopstyle.it/l/9AgX. I love it, it prevents my lipstick from bleeding better than any other I’ve tried.

I’m going to try to find a new fall lipstick and update my makeup routine post, so stay tuned!
