Red wasn’t on my radar heading into the season, but suddenly it’s everywhere—from cherry and tomato to deep crimson and bright coral. It’s bold, fun, and surprisingly wearable, even if your closet leans neutral like mine.

I’ve always loved the color red, and I know it works well for me, but for some reason, it hasn’t been a staple in my wardrobe for quite a few years. Lately, though, I’ve been re-introducing it in small doses, and I’m really enjoying it. I have a couple of red tops I’ve been reaching for over and over, and I just picked up these Gola sneakers with red and pink accents.

Also, let’s not forget that red dress I wore in Florida back in March! It hasn’t been warm enough to wear it here until just this week, but I’m looking forward to finding an opportunity to pull it out again soon.

And don’t underestimate the impact of a bold red nail! I was getting tired of my go-to summer white, so I wore OPI Big Apple Red for my England trip, and I loved how it popped against all of my neutrals. It also coordinated nicely with the red top I packed.

Whether you want to add just a pop of red or go all in with a head-to-toe monochromatic moment, there are so many great pieces out right now. I rounded up a mix of red finds for summer—from easy accessories to standout staples—for your shopping inspiration below!

I love red, have had it in my wardrobe for years. I tend to wear my red outfits more in the fall and winter, though, because it’s a deeper more saturated color. Summer, I sometimes accessorize with a pop of red. 🙂 Now coral is another story… LOL!
Yeah, I definitely find myself leaning into the orangey-reds in the summer months. I love a good coral moment!
Same here! I love red and wear it all year but do notice myself shifting shades seasonally. Orangey-reds just feel so much more summery than cherry. But I do love it in fall and winter.
I love red♥️
Red! All time favorite color! ❤️
I wore a red top with my jeans last week and received so many compliments.
Thank you for all of your hard work to keep us informed and up to date.
I also love a good peachy-red or coral in the summer. I have a beautiful red eyelet sleeveless blouse from Johnny Was that I love to wear in the summer, especially near the patriot holidays. I need to dig that one out! Thanks for the inspiration Jo-Lynne!
I like red too. Glad there are lots of options out there.
Love red. I wear the denim and oversized white button up and cognac accessories alot. A go to for me.
I’ve never really been a fan of red , but I’ve been leaning towards I think it’s called Poppy red this year it takes on more of a deep coral.
You look so beautiful in red, JoLynne! I tried on a few of the things you have in your shopping widgets on a recent shopping day. The skirt and blouse from Anthro looked so cute on the salesgirl, but not on me. Those cropped, billowy tops are tricky to wear. However, I did buy one from Anthro that I’m determined to make work because it’s just so cute!
I’m wanting a red sandal to wear with denim this summer. I like that red Longchamp tote too! (Your shop style links are not working for me this morning…not sure if it’s just me?)
I have very little red in my closet since it is not one of my signature colors, however, I do enjoy wearing it for the various holidays throughout the year.
I love red! It has to be the right shade for me though–a blue/red versus rusty or orange red. I just ordered some red slides from LIfestride. Can’t wait until they come in!
I see the Vionic pair above. What do you think of Vionic? I need some extra shoe support b/c of past back/disc issues. Is Vionic good for that?
Vionics can be very good for that. Everybody has their own opinion about them, though, some feel like they have too much of an arch, but I have found them to be very comfortable.
