Welcome back to my weekly post where I share what I wore this week and link up with other fashion bloggers around the web!
But first, I wanted to tell you about the fall fashion series I’m starting in September — 26 Days of Fall Outfits. I’ll be teaming up with Cyndi over at Grace & Beauty, and we will each share 26 fall outfits, one a day for the entire month, excluding Sundays, so stay tuned for that!
Meanwhile, we still have a few weeks of warmth and sunshine left, so I hope you find some summer style inspiration here today. It’s been pretty crazy around here since we got back from Maine. Between PT, my workouts, my son’s band camp, my kids’ doctor appointments, and my doctor appointments, my life feels like one long string of appointments with a few minutes of work shoved in between. Every time I manage to get myself back into work mode, it’s time to run out again. Anyone else feeling this way this summer?? Isn’t summer supposed to be relaxing??
Anyway, here’s what I wore this week. Despite all the hustle and bustle, I think I might have photographed an outfit every day this week. Yay, me!
I wore this casual outfit to hang out at home and run a few errands. I never seem to tire of black and denim. This basic black tank is from Banana Republic.
To jazz up this simple outfit, I wore my new Arabesque Chandelier earrings with my Maylee Ring and these Artisan Stretch Bracelets stacked with the Ally Double Wrap Bracelet. All of my jewelry in this outfit except the FitBit bracelet is from my Stella & Dot shop. I am LOVING the new fall line. L-O-V-I-N-G!!
This raw edge demin skirt has been a godsend. I love it. It’s sold out at Nordstrom, but it’s back in stock at Madewell in limited sizes, so grab it while you can!!! For size reference, I have the size 29. I’m 5’5″ and usually wear a size 8.
This striped bag is super old, but I still love it for summertime when I’m going somewhere all day and want to make sure I have everything I need.
Outfit Details: BR Essential Tank // Madewell Raw Edge Jean Skirt // Arabesque Chandeliers // Maylee Ring // Artisan Stretch Bracelets // Ally Double Wrap Bracelet // FitBit Bracelet
I posted this outfit for Fashion Friday last week, but in case you missed it, I wore this black dress and my leopard wedge sandals with orange/red accessories last weekend to go out to dinner for my anniversary. I love leopard with the orangey-red accessories, and YAY for dresses that are comfortable enough to eat in!
Outfit Details: Toad & Co. Samba Wave Tank Dress | Sam Edelman Reid Wedge Sandal | Stella & Dot Sardinia Bracelet | Tory Burch FitBit Bracelet | Stella & Dot Reverie Chandelier Earrings | S&D Maylee Ring | 3-disc necklace via Stitch Fix | red envelope clutch (old; similar)
This casual outfit is from last Friday, when I hosted friends for happy hour on our deck. The twist trim tank and white shorts are both sold out, but these white shorts are similar. I opted for boat shoes instead of my usual sandals. I especially like them with white, for some reason.
Outfit Details: Twist Trim Top (LOFT; sold out) // white jean shorts (similar) // boat shoes // Coral Cay Earrings (sold out; similar) // FitBit Bracelet // Lexi Bucket Bag // Kate Spade Laurie Sunnies // S&D Maylee Ring // 3-disc necklace via Stitch Fix // R Bracelet
This is the outfit I wore on Saturday to host our PSMM Workshop — white jeans with this royal blue Sparrow Top, which was gifted from Leave Nothing But Footprints last spring. And I love the elegant new Arabesque Link Necklace from Stella & Dot.
Outfit Details: Sparrow Top c/o LNBF // white skinnies // Arabesque Link Necklace // D Yurman ‘Cable Classics’ Bracelet // Lexi Bucket Bag // FitBit Bracelet // Kate Spade Laurie Sunnies // wedge sandals (similar)
This was Sunday. It was a warm day, but our church can be cold, so I wore my jean jacket over a navy tank top with this navy and magenta maxi skirt. I wore my Chevron Necklace from Silpada to break up the front of the tank.
I wore my new nude lipstick palette that I got on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I’m bummed that it’s gone already! I really like this combination of lip liner, lipstick, and lipgloss. It creates the perfect naturally nude lip.
Outfit details: navy tank // medallion maxi skirt via Stitch Fix // wedge sandals (similar) // jean jacket (similar here and here) // FitBit Bracelet // Silpada chevron plunge necklace // hoop earrings // Alex and Ani bangles // crossbody bag
Finally, my daughter took these pictures as we were rushing out of the house to go to an eye doctor appointment on Monday. They’re not our finest photo quality, but it was a casual day. I just wore jeans and this coral striped top from Old Navy. I pulled my hair back again because I can’t seem to do anything with it lately. I have an appointment to get it colored and trimmed this afternoon, and I cannot WAIT. It’s driving me nuts.
I love these Coral Cay earrings, and I’m so sad they’re gone already. I think they were just introduced last spring. They seem to go with everything I’m wearing lately, and they have a way of dressing up the simplest of outfits. These Hibiscus Chandeliers are similar, though, and they’re a 2-in-1 style as well.
Outfit Details: striped top // skinnies // S&D Signature Engravable Disk Necklace // Coral Cay Earrings (sold out; similar) // FitBit Bracelet // Lexi Bucket // gold espadrille flats (sold out)

So many easy summer looks! I love your magenta & navy maxi skirt! My other favorite is the first outfit with the denim skirt!

Doused In Pink
Thanks, Jill!
Funny because I was just thinking how great your hair looked both up & down in the pictures…but I totally understand frustrating when it has a mind of it’s own!! I love the anniversary outfit with the colored accessories…beautiful! And the maxi skirt is so lovely!! jodie

LOL, isn’t that always the way? I think I need to cut a bit of length off the front, but not shorten the layered part. That front piece just hangs straight, I can’t get it to have that nice curve to it that I used to get.
This week I can pick something from ever look you put together that I WANT. Ha! I love those cute Boat Shoes! I have some similar to that in a more “denim” look.
LOL, thank you!
Hi Jo-Lynne.
I think you nude lips color looks fab, too. Is that a clear lip-gloss?
Jo-Lynne, if you can tell me where I can find a good funeral outfit (a dress I suppose…or a skirt/blouse) that would be very helpful! I’m thinking Macy’s? I got a dress at Marshall’s but it too frumpy. I shouldn’t have settled on it. I know I shouldn’t try to be too cute at a funeral, but the one I got is too dowdy. Any ideas?
Thank you.
Sara
Hey, Sarah. I’m sorry you need a funeral dress. Have you tried Ross Dress for Less? I got a few really cute dresses their in the spring. Or White House Black Market has a lot of nice dresses – not frumpy.
Thanks, much appreciated.
Cute outfits! I have a couple questions. First, what do you use for your complexion? You have gorgeous skin, so smooth! Also, do you have someone take your great photos or do you set up a tripod with a timer? Just curious!
Susan
Thanks, Susan! Right now I’m using the Burt’s Bees Renewal Line. I wrote a post about it: https://www.jolynneshane.com/28-day-face-cleanse-results.html
My husband takes most of my pictures. Sometimes my daughter does them. 🙂 But I do have them retouched professionally. I have good skin, but it’s not as smooth as it looks in these pictures. 🙂
Hi Jo-Lynne,
I love the maxi skirt and denim jacket. I am 5’1″ and would love to find one but wasn’t sure if it would look good on me since I am short. Any suggestions?
Hey Susan! I think shorter people can pull them off with a pair of wedge sandals, as long as the skirt is the right length. I have also seen people knot the hem on one side, which makes it a bit more flattering. Good luck!
Love these looks and excited to see the September looks!
Stopping by from the Pleated Poppy Link-up!

You always look so cute! I love the skirt but they are out of my size. Have you tried the DL1961 Angel Ankle Cigarette Jeans or just the Florence Instasculpt Skinnies? I was looking at the Angel Ankles and they are super cute too. Do you think the DL1961 run true to size or small?
Hey April. I do have the Angel, actually. I had them first. They run a bit smaller than the Florence. Florence are quite forgiving. 🙂 Which is why I love them. The angel are cute, but cropped. And my particular pair ran a bit smaller than my 2 pairs of Florence (I have them in white and dark blue denim.) All 3 pairs are 29, which is the size I normally wear in designer denim. I hope that helps.
Thank you, that really helps. I’m 5’3″ so I think the Angel length would probably work well for me. And I see Bloomies has them on sale right now 🙂
PERFECT!!
You look sensational!! Truly! Love every single outfit. Love your hair pulled back. Love your peaches and creamy complexion. Wow! Just wow! Leslie http://onceuponatimehappilyeverafter.com
Thank you, dear! You are too sweet.
