Fall Color Crush: Caramel Café

This is our final 2022 Fall Color Crush, and today we’re crushing on Caramel Café. I don’t usually wear a lot of brown, but there’s something about this color that I’m loving this season!

This is how the the Pantone USA Fall/Winter 2022/2023 Fashion Color Trend Report describes it:

Caramel Café, a delicious brown hue that tastefully tempts.

I recently purchased this KUT from the Kloth denim jacket in a chestnut color that is very close to this Caramel Café, and I love wearing it with black denim as I did here. I also just ordered the J.Crew New Excursion Vest in the Dark Nutmeg, and it’s gorgeous in person.

It also looks great with blue jeans, and you can also wear it with other shades of brown and beige for a chic monochromatic look.

Even if you don’t like to wear brown near your face, this caramel shade is gorgeous in leather goods such as shoes, belts, and handbags.

  1. What a great color! I love browns that lean in the rust direction– rather than the mud direction. lol. Ordering the Vince Camuto sweater. It has mixed reviews, especially concerning sizing so I’ll order 2 sizes.

  2. Love this color. Unfortunately I am one who doesn’t like it near my face (cool skin tone). Great ideas of how to I corporate it into an outfit (shoes, purse etc). Thanks much!

  3. Hi Jolene. I’m a full time resident if Florida and summer in Door County Wisconsin. Due to hurricane Ian, I will be spending more time in Wisconsin this winter. I got rid of most of my winter clothing years ago. Can you give me advice on a few pieces I should get to keep warm and stylish this winter?

    1. I’d get a pair of stylish winter boots (like Sorel) and jeans that work well with them. And then some cozy knits, and of course, a good winter parka. Plus gloves and a cashmere scarf that coordinate with the coat.

  4. I really like this color and I have various shades of it in my closet. I just need to get busy wearing the pieces. Good luck with all of your appointments today!

  5. I already have a caramel purse and I’ll be adding a pair of caramel pants to my wardrobe. I wouldn’t wear it in a top because it’s not flattering to my colouring.

  6. loving this color although I don’t have a lot of it yet but not sure how i feel about the white socks with the clogs in #9 (ha, I know you only grab pics and probably wouldn’t wear THAT trend ha).

  7. I love this color too. Feels like fall! I recently saw it paired with red, which was an unexpected pairing to me but I loved it together!

  8. This is my favorite FALL color! And I have pieces that I love wearing with winter white or ivory!! I also really enjoy my leather boots and purses in that color. My favorite in this group is your denim jacket and the JCrew quilted vest. I had to smile because just a few weeks ago you declared these vests “out”, and you wouldn’t buy any more! Having fun with fashion means you can change your mind, right?? I must have 10+ puffer vests, all kinds of solids and plaids/prints that I wear constantly in cooler weather.

    1. I noticed that too! What is it about the old vests that is different from the new vests that are in fashion now?

  9. Can’t wait to see you style the puffer vest. I love the color of this one from JCrew, but the last few years, I feel dated in my puffer vest. 🙂

    1. Well… LOL! I did include them in my “outdated trends” post, but I think we can say it’s a classic style that has its purpose. It isn’t a hot trend, but it can be worn in a way that looks current. I am going to play around with it and take some pictures on Wednesday.

  10. Oh yeah, #9 is a definite no from me, maybe the 20 year olds. Pretty doubtful that will be a hot look. I do love this color in shoes and bags etc!

  11. Hi Jo-Lynne,
I like the post. Can’t go wrong with these caramel colors. I do need a new handbag in this color family as it goes with everything. Good to hear you had a good trip with all the other gals. The hotel looked very interesting. We’ve been to Nashville and it was so much fun. So much to do and see.
Thanks for thinking of us here in Florida!!! 🙂 We live in Florida full time and are close to the beach. My husband and I are doing fine and only minor damage. My heart aches for all those who have suffered, lost their homes, and have been struggling.
