How I Wear My Favorite Spring/Summer Wardrobe Staple

sponsored by Nordstrom

While I wear white denim all year ’round, I would not be without at least one pair of white jeans in my spring/summer wardrobe. I actually like to have a variety of styles, but if you’re going to have just one pair of white jeans this season, I think a straight ankle silhouette is the most versatile.

FRAME Le High Ankle Straight Leg Jeans (28) (under $100 option) // Caslon tank (S) // KUT from the Kloth denim jacket (S) // / Dolce Vita sandals (8) // YSL handbag (save option) // similar necklace

This is my third season with this pair of FRAME Le High Ankle Straight Leg Jeans from Nordstrom, and they still look like new. They’re on the spendy side, but my cost per wear is mere pennies at this point.

These jeans have a 27″ inseam with a 14″ leg opening and a comfortable 10 1/2″ front rise. The fabric is 92% cotton/6% polyester/2% elastane, so they have a good bit of stretch, but they never bag out or lose their shape.

If you’re looking for an under $100 alternative, the Good American Good Straight has similar measurements, and they look great on.

Both are nice and thick with no show-through, but just in case, I always wear a pair of beige shaping shorts underneath my white denim.

These jeans can easily be dressed up or down, thanks to the clean white wash and finished hems. I wore them with this stripe tank and denim jacket and flat sandals one day when I was in Florida last month.

This tank is by Caslon, one of the Nordstrom Made brands. It’s a nice wardrobe basic that’s great for layering or wearing alone. It also comes in solid white and black, and it’s priced under $20!

I like a neutral shoe with white jeans, and these sandals are a new addition to my summer wardrobe. The braided straps are really soft and flexible, and they’re easy to walk in.

I’m wearing the Cafe Stella, and I agree with the reviews that they run small. I often size down to a 7.5 in slides, and these fit me perfectly in the 8.

A denim jacket is another spring/summer wardrobe staple that I would never want to be without, and this one is the perfect topper for a casual outfit. I love the light wash, and the slightly oversized silhouette plays into the current trends without being too extreme.

When I want to level up for church or dinner out, I often wear these same jeans with a pretty blouse and heels, and white and navy is one of my favorite pairings for spring!

CeCe Ruffle V-Neck Blouse (S) // FRAME Le High Straight (28) //  Sam Edelman heels (8) // Coach handbag // similar earrings // similar necklace // similar bracelets

CeCe is a brand I’ve come to rely on for blouses at an accessible price point. They have so many pretty styles, and most come in a wide variety of colors.

This ruffle v-neck blouse has three-quarter sleeves and smocked panels at the shoulders, and it’s flattering and easy to wear for most body types.

When I was putting this outfit together, I had a few options for shoes, so I chose my handbag first and then coordinated with my shoes.

As I said above, I usually default to a nude shoe with white jeans, and I was considering the Dolce Vita Paily in Cafe and the Marc Fisher Dayne in Light Natural, but I also love how the Sam Edelman Kia in Gold Leaf looks with this outfit. Gold and navy are so pretty together!

So then I went to choose a handbag, and I decided to carry this ivory Coach bag with the gold hardware. It’s a great size for a night out, and it has the same dressy-casual vibe as this outfit.

While beige sandals would be fine, the gold coordinate perfectly with this bag; in fact, I almost always wear gold sandals when I carry this bag for that reason.

So that settled the shoe debate! From there, I added gold tone jewelry to complete the look.

  1. Love this post! Wish I could order the Frame jeans but at 5’3 and short waisted the only rise I feel comfortable in is nothing higher than 9 3/4. I did find a great pair of AG jeans that I just love!

On another note, in a previous post you mentioned that you had a OxyGeneo Facial well I finally made a appointment for one and I loved it!!

Thank you for all of your hard work, the detail you put in is very much appreciated!

  2. Both are great looks! I need to think about any items that I really need and order them from Nordstrom while I can get extra points. I need to pack up my closer fitting jean jacket and only keep the more relaxed ones in my closet for this spring/summer.

  3. Those are some great looks. I must say they are definitely out of my budget, but none the less they look great on you. The tip on the nude shaping shorts is one I wouldn’t have thought of. Do you just wear that combo when it’s cooler out? I’m thinking I’d get too hot in summer.
