How to Wear a Blazer with Jeans and Heels
Well, this is it! The home stretch! Today is Day 22 of 26 Days of Fall Fashion, and I’m styling a blazer with jeans and heels.
I’m super excited about today’s outfit because I don’t do a lot of blazers, and I’ve been wanting to start incorporating this wardrobe staple into my outfits. I always like the look, especially when paired with jeans. I love the mix of dressy and casual, as you probably know!
I found this blazer at White House Black Market. It’s the Heathered Seasonless Blazer, which is awesome because it can be worn year-round, and it’s currently on sale for $81.99! For size reference, I’m wearing the 8.
I’m also wearing a verrrry old pair of Paige Skyline Skinny Jeans. I believe these were my first pair of Paige jeans. These were my go-to dressy jeans for a long time. They’ve taken backseat to some of the newer styles, but I pulled them out for this outfit, and I like how they work with the blazer and heels. It also occurred to me while writing this post that I could have worn my baby bootcuts. I bet they would be amazing with this outfit.
Here’s a shot of the jacket buttoned. I’m not sure which way I like it better.
This is the Rebecca Minkoff Regan Tote. It has a padded laptop pocket, making it the perfect bag for work. Plus there’s plenty of room for all of your purse essentials, and if you unzip the sides, it holds even more. I’ll be taking it with me to South Carolina today, and I can’t wait to see how it works out. I often carry a laptop bag and a tote, so I’m excited to be able to consolidate.
In addition to the zipper pocket on the front, there’s an open pocket on the back that is the perfect size for holding my iPhone when I need to stow it quickly. I hate futzing with zippers, so I always want a bag that has easy access to my iPhone. Plus the gusseted design and dangling tassels make it edgy and fun.
Also note my bracelets. Aren’t they fun!? I actually bought this Tiger Eye Mesh Stretch Bracelet Set to go with the dress I’m wearing to the cocktail party tonight, but when I noticed how well they complimented this outfit, I threw them on for our photo shoot.
The jewelry at White House Black Market is currently BOGO 50% off, so I also picked up these Teardrop Hoops. I’m a sucker for a hoop earring, and I like how these are a bit bolder than any other hoops I have at the moment.
I added a delicate bar necklace, but perhaps I need something with more weight to offset the earrings. I’m not great at pairing earrings and necklaces. I prefer for one to stand out and the other to take the backseat, but as I look at these pictures, I’m wishing I had something heavier in the neckline.
Ah, well. Live and learn!
Underneath the blazer, I’m wearing this Geometric Print Shell. This top is fully lined, and it has a zipper on the side seam, which allows a snug fit. It’s made of a high quality poly/spandex blend, and the way the fabric is layered makes it nice and thick so it hides all the lumps and bumps, and the wide shoulder straps cover your bra straps and keep it modest.
Here’s a final look at the outfit with the jacket on. You gotta love a blazer with jeans and heels! I was planning to wear this to a conference this past weekend, but I had to cancel last minute because of too much going on here at home. It would also be a great look for lunch out with the girls, and I might even wear it to church sometime.
I’m headed to the airport in about an hour for my press trip to South Carolina, so I’m posting this earlier than usual. I’ll be updating my Instagram and Snapchat throughout the trip, so follow along if you’d like! And be sure to visit Cyndi and see the fall outfit she’s styling today!
