How to Wear a Blazer with Jeans and Heels

Well, this is it! The home stretch! Today is Day 22 of 26 Days of Fall Fashion, and I’m styling a blazer with jeans and heels.

It's the perfect casual Friday office look - a chic blazer with jeans and heels! A seasonless blazer is a closet staple no woman should be without!

I’m super excited about today’s outfit because I don’t do a lot of blazers, and I’ve been wanting to start incorporating this wardrobe staple into my outfits. I always like the look, especially when paired with jeans. I love the mix of dressy and casual, as you probably know!

I found this blazer at White House Black Market. It’s the Heathered Seasonless Blazer, which is awesome because it can be worn year-round, and it’s currently on sale for $81.99! For size reference, I’m wearing the 8.

I’m also wearing a verrrry old pair of Paige Skyline Skinny Jeans. I believe these were my first pair of Paige jeans. These were my go-to dressy jeans for a long time. They’ve taken backseat to some of the newer styles, but I pulled them out for this outfit, and I like how they work with the blazer and heels. It also occurred to me while writing this post that I could have worn my baby bootcuts. I bet they would be amazing with this outfit.

Here’s a shot of the jacket buttoned. I’m not sure which way I like it better.

I'm styling this seasonless blazer from White House Black Market with a printed top and blue jeans -- the perfect casual Friday office look!

This is the Rebecca Minkoff Regan Tote. It has a padded laptop pocket, making it the perfect bag for work. Plus there’s plenty of room for all of your purse essentials, and if you unzip the sides, it holds even more. I’ll be taking it with me to South Carolina today, and I can’t wait to see how it works out. I often carry a laptop bag and a tote, so I’m excited to be able to consolidate.

How can you not love a chic blazer with jeans and an edgy tote? This printed blouse in fall colors is the perfect pop of interest in this classic look.

In addition to the zipper pocket on the front, there’s an open pocket on the back that is the perfect size for holding my iPhone when I need to stow it quickly. I hate futzing with zippers, so I always want a bag that has easy access to my iPhone. Plus the gusseted design and dangling tassels make it edgy and fun.

Also note my bracelets. Aren’t they fun!? I actually bought this Tiger Eye Mesh Stretch Bracelet Set to go with the dress I’m wearing to the cocktail party tonight, but when I noticed how well they complimented this outfit, I threw them on for our photo shoot.

Loving the Rebecca Minkoff Reagan Tote for carrying my laptop and all my purse essenetials.

The jewelry at White House Black Market is currently BOGO 50% off, so I also picked up these Teardrop Hoops. I’m a sucker for a hoop earring, and I like how these are a bit bolder than any other hoops I have at the moment.

I added a delicate bar necklace, but perhaps I need something with more weight to offset the earrings. I’m not great at pairing earrings and necklaces. I prefer for one to stand out and the other to take the backseat, but as I look at these pictures, I’m wishing I had something heavier in the neckline.

Ah, well. Live and learn!

Underneath the blazer, I’m wearing this Geometric Print Shell. This top is fully lined, and it has a zipper on the side seam, which allows a snug fit. It’s made of a high quality poly/spandex blend, and the way the fabric is layered makes it nice and thick so it hides all the lumps and bumps, and the wide shoulder straps cover your bra straps and keep it modest.

I was drawn to the seasonal fall color tones in this top. It pairs well with blue jeans, but it looks great with my aubergine skinny jeans and khaki skimmer jeans as well.

Here’s a final look at the outfit with the jacket on. You gotta love a blazer with jeans and heels! I was planning to wear this to a conference this past weekend, but I had to cancel last minute because of too much going on here at home. It would also be a great look for lunch out with the girls, and I might even wear it to church sometime.

  1. HOMERUN! Yet another great looking outfit! Each piece is great to stand alone. When I look at what your’re styling, I’m not one to think, oh I can’t wear those heels, or the jeans are too skinny for me. I look at the colors & patterns, then think, okay, I can get a blazer in my size or I have those colors & wow, I never thought of wearing that together. You’ve given me so many great ideas. In fact, last week I wore my olive green utulity vest, jeans, cognac flats & my older daughter said I looked like a Jo-Lynne knockoff!! (She follows you as well). A great compliment!! for both of us….LOL! I really like bold patterns & colors, BUT in the season of my life now, your style is more of what I wear while doing my Grammy duty as I call it. I can still look stylish, but it’s functional for me. Have a great time down south! Can’t wait to see the pics. And enjoy the test drives, how fun is that?

  2. Jo-Lynne, I totally agree with the other ladies. You hit this outfit out of the park! Each piece is perfect on its own, then styled together, you could go anywhere. So many offices are business casual these days, that I know this gives the women that work in an office another great idea.

I hope you had a good flight this morning! Enjoy the time at Hilton Head!

    God bless!
