Spring Style: How to Wear Pastel Jeans

I’ve had a few questions about how to wear pastel jeans. The only pair of pastel pants I have at the moment are mint. I have a blush pair on my short list, but I haven’t been willing to pull the trigger just yet.

I generally pair pastels with light neutrals — grey, white, ivory, etc. Sometimes even another pastel works too.

In this case, I paired my mint jeans with this grey and white striped tunic. It’s currently on sale for $26!!! For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

I wore grey wedge sandals and carried a grey bag. My bag is no longer available, but I have this white Isobel Saddle Bag on my wish list. It would work well with this outfit. This one is much more affordable and also cute. Oooh! Or this one.

Because the top has a seam down the front, I didn’t wear a necklace. I always struggle with that; it seems weird to have a pendant hanging down the same line as the seam. Instead, I opted for these gold chandelier earrings inspired by antique lace.

I added this Stone Tile Ring and my Pave Sphinx Cuff bracelet. I looooove this ring!

I took the opportunity to break out my new wedge sandals.

Realistically, I’m not wearing them out and about just yet, but if you live in a warmer climate, it’s not too early for sandals. I’ll probably wait until after Easter to start wearing mine. This outfit would also be cute with wedge pumps or ballet flats.

These mint skinnies are soooo comfortable, I can’t even tell you. They feel like pajamas. I got them on sale last year, but this year’s version is pretty much the same, maybe with just a tad more green in them. They also come in dark olive and soft pink.

I know the price point is high, but the comfort and fit are well worth the splurge if you’re going to wear them a lot. Or wait for a sale, like I did. Speaking of sales, ShopBop has a HUGE sale going on right now! Save up to 25% on your order with code BIGEVENT16. They have tons of designer jeans in addition to shoes and handbags. I love their selection of wedge sandals.

For some lower priced options in mint jeans, these are similar for $110, and these are $82. I couldn’t find any mint jeans at Kohl’s, but I found this cute pair in Lichen for $36. It comes in lots of shades of denim and a few colors.

This is an outfit I’ll wear out to lunch with girlfriends or to church on Sunday. And I’m sure sometimes I’ll swap the heels for ballet flats or sandals and wear it for a typical day of working and running the kids around.

    1. I KNOW!!!!!! **swoon**

I still feel a bit nauseous when I look at the price, but I guess I just need to make sure to wear them out so I feel I got my money’s worth. Ha!

  1. Thank you so much for all you do. You’ve made daily fashion fun!! Could you let Cyndi know that for the past few weeks, most of her pictures are very blurry on my iPad, and the wording is very light. I wasn’t able to post on her site…thanks!! I enjoy all of your posts so much.

  2. Seriously, those wedges are SO sexy. Just love them. I can see why you have the Isobel Saddle Bag on you short list…..I can’t wait to see you style it and might have to add that to my short list too!! I like the choice of chandelier earring with no necklace….looks great!

    1. Thanks, Sandy!! I am trying to find a less $$$ version of that saddle bag. ShopBop is having a sale, so maybe I’ll have to see what they have that’s similar! 🙂

  3. Love, love, love the pants. I do not own a pair that color, and that may have to change. Haha Your pictures from over the past summers almost made me physically ache. I NEED some sun and warmth. Sitting here watching is flurry:(

  4. Pretty spring look! On your “ways to wear pastel jeans” pics toward the end of the post, can you tell me where you purchased the bone colored, closed-toe wedges? Thanks!!

    1. Yeah, I think it’s just me being weird. Haha. I actually styled this sweater with white jeans and flats, and that time I wore a necklace. I’ll be posting it next week. It works okay. I think I’d like it better with a non-pendant necklace, that hangs in a U-shape.

  5. Hi there I love this pastel trend but i always worry about the “back” view. I find that my jeans tend to wrinkle at the thigh area, I have always noticed this tends to happen to a lot of people, just wondering if its an acceptable look??

  6. I was debating on mint jeans for Easter, but decided on the white. I may pick up a pair anyway, love the color. I am also swooning over the wedges, but I would probably fall wearing those!

  7. Gap outlet has a cute pair of mint legging jeans that I picked up. They are ankle length but really cute for any of your readers that shop at gap outlet and want a less expensive option. ????

  8. I love the mint jeans! You look amazing as always!
I also love those wedges! My mom always bought us ” good ” shoes, which were always more expensive. But she said we needed to take care of our feet. So, though these are a bit pricey, I’m sure they’ll be well worth it. Did I say how beautiful they are? Just an added bonus! 🙂

  9. I love the jeans! They do look very soft and comfy. Where did you get the tan wedges in the last post with the tan and white striped top? I’ve been looking for a pair like that.

  10. Awesome post Jo-Lynne! I was wondering what color tops to wear with the peach color ankle pants I bought at ON on Sunday. Now I know! Since the cute wedge sandals don’t have arch support, I’m glad I found the cute lace Keds today.

    Thank you!

  11. The wedges are to die for and that’s just what my husband would do if I paid that much for them, ha! I love your mint jeans and all the different looks! I’m on the lookout for some and would like a pale pink as well.

  12. Oh. My gosh. You are too cute. The shoes!!!!! When I saw the price though…sad face. They are simply amazing.
