July Favorites: What I’m Loving Lately

Good morning from Maine! I’m sitting here with my morning coffee, listening to the sounds of the birds chirping and the water lapping up on the shoreline. There’s a thin layer of fog hovering over the lake and a cool breeze coming in the screen windows. It’s absolutely lovely!

Before I left home, I rounded up my July Favorites to share with you today. These are some new finds and old favorites I’m particularly loving right now.

one // two // three // four // five // six // seven // eight // nine // ten // eleven // twelve // thirteen // fourteen // fifteen

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and I usually wear a small in tops, a 28 or 29 in jeans, and a size 8 shoe. Gifted items are indicated by c/o; everything else I purchased myself.

July Favorites 2022

one // This bralette is so comfortable, perfect for sleeping or lounging or anytime you don’t need a lot of support. I’ve been wearing it to sleep in since my surgery, but one of my daughters wears hers almost every day.

She actually has this one, but you really can’t go wrong with this brand, especially when its on sale. I’m currently a 34D and I have two of these in the medium.

two // This dress is one of my favorite #NSale finds this year. I love that it can be dressed up or down, as shown above. It runs true to size; I have the small.

three // Someone asked me a few days ago which white jeans are my favorites, which I thought was a great question! After thinking on it for a minute, I decided on these Mother Dazzlers.

They have a 9 3/4″ mid-rise and a 27 1/2″ inseam with a 13″ leg opening, for a slim straight fit with a finished hem. While I love my other white jeans, I feel like this pair is the most versatile. Mother Denim is all made in the USA, and for size reference, I wear a 29 in all the Mother Dazzlers I’ve tried.

Would you all like a post on all my favorite white denim? Sort of a white denim guide? Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of experience with the more budget-friendly brands, but I do have 4 or 5 pairs of white jeans in different styles that I love and wear on repeat.

four // These Born sandals were an impulse buy at the #NSale, and I’ve been wearing them almost every day since I got them!

They’re so comfortable, and the navy blue is more versatile than you might think… especially if you wear a lot of denim. They’re on sale and fully stocked, and they run true to size. (I have the 8.)

five c/o // These sandals are really comfortable, and I love the two-tone metal ring detail and croc embossed heel. The straps are soft and supple, and this is the perfect shade of taupe. I can see wearing these right into fall, as long as it stays warm. I sized down to a 7.5, as I typically do in slides.

outfit details

six // I picked up this beach wrap to wear over my swimsuits when I’m hosting friends by the pool. It’s a gorgeous fabric and really levels up a poolside look.

seven // I just got this new mirror for my room, after realizing my old one was really warped. I would look different depending on where I stood in the room, and we could see it was bowed it was when we took it down. I did some research, and I guess mirror quality really varies.

This one is better than my old one, but it might be a little too kind. I think it makes me look a bit thinner than I am, but I’ll take that any day over the one that added 5 pounds.

Anyway! It’s pretty in an understated way, so I thought I’d share it with you in case anyone needs a full length mirror. It’s very heavy, and you have to hang it on the wall. Because of the curved bottom, you can’t prop it on the floor. Mine is the Satin Brass frame.

eight c/o // I’ve been wearing this Victoria Emerson bracelet a lot lately. It has a delicate, classy look to it with the mini Freshwater Pearls, gold details, and shimmering crystals. It’s hard to see, but it’s the one I was wearing with the black tank dress for my birthday dinner out.

outfit details

nine // I just got these white shorts in, and I’ve already worn them a couple of times. They were a splurge, but I was struggling to find white denim shorts that I like, and I really like the length of these, and the way they fit and feel. They have a high 11 1/4″ front rise, so you have to be okay with that, but it works for me.

They also have a 4 1/2″ inseam with a 21″ leg opening; and the fabric is 96% cotton, 3% elasterell-p, 1% spandex so they have a bit of stretch. I sized up to the 29, as I do in most shorts.

ten // I like this swimsuit so much, I got it in both red and black. It’s so comfortable, and flattering too. I have the size medium.

outfit details

eleven // I’m so bummed this tank is selling out; it’s so cute! I bought it with this week in Maine in mind. I sized up to a medium in this one. These shorts are really good too; I ordered them along with the white pair (#9 above.) They have a 5 1/2″ inseam and a 10″ front rise.

twelve // l love this tote from the #NSale, but I think I like the Palisade Tan even better than the black… only because the contrasting straps are a really fun detail.

It’s made of a buttery soft pebbled leather, and it has a raw leather interior, which I love. It has two strap options, so you can carry it over your shoulder or in your hand, and it does snap closed for security.

thirteen // I’ve been wearing this No Makeup Eyeshadow a lot lately, mostly on days I want more of a minimal makeup look, but I still want to look finished. It evens out the discoloration on my lids and looks really natural and pretty.

fourteen // I’ve also been using this MAC eyeshadow palette, mascara, and eyeliner a lot lately… pretty much whenever I do a full face of makeup.

fifteen // I’m getting tired of neutrals, and this bright blue and white really screams summer. I found this top at Anthro when I was in the store picking up my beach wrap (#6 above) that I’d ordered online.

I don’t think I ever would have noticed this top on the website, but it’s so pretty and surprisingly flattering on. I sized up to the medium in this one.

  1. Love seeing the favorites! Hope you enjoy the day in Bar Harbour… we haven’t been there since we came over one year on the bluenose ferry from Yarmouth ( that certainly dates it) all our visits to Maine seen to be by land these days!
    How is your tooth doing?

    1. Yes, it certainly does! I always heard about that ferry, but we never took it. My tooth is holding on… good days and bad days. I’ll have to deal with it when I get home.

  2. Great post. Love you in the Lazy Lake Days tee outfit. Love the denim length of the shorts and I’m thinking I need the navy borne sandals. :). Your description of the lake this morning sounded wonderful. I too was up alone same time at my daughters in Bend, Oregon. If you’ve never been you need to go. We use to vacation here every Summer, boating and camping and she and her family just moved here. They’ve only been here since April but have already met lots of friends through their new church. So thankful. But….. they took my first grandchild further from me. So hard. We use to see her and babysit all the time. She actually was born in Bend when my daughter went into labor 6 weeks early while on vacation in Bend. They were in the NICU with her for almost a month. She is healthy and almost 3 now. So they feel they’ve come full circle. It’s home here to them. Today we are off to see my son and his family in Sunriver just 1/2 hr away. Then onto our own road trip alone. Gone 10 days. Much needed. Enjoy your vacation.

  3. Do you think the black scoop
neck dress would work for a fall wedding in Austin, Texas. Temps would most likely be in the high 80s and sunny.
Ordered the tide pool v-beck dress but not sure if the color is going to work for me.

  4. Love the swimsuit and you look fantastic in it! I have it on my wish list now.
Can you tell me the source of your white pants pictured in #15 with the blue Anthro top.
    Thanks!

  5. I hope that y’all are having a great day! I enjoy seeing what your favorites are right now. I am very happy with the Perricone MD no makeup eye shadow, and really appreciate your recommendation.

  6. I absolutely LOVE the blue and white outfit on you in the last picture! I hope y’all are enjoying your vacation! We may make a trip down to NOLA (New Orleans) tomorrow. My middle son turned 13 last Tuesday and he wants to go. So we can road trip it for the day. I did order the navy sandals and am excited about them!
