What To Wear When Spring Is Slow To Come
Hello and happy hump day! Yes, we’re getting a foot of snow dumped on us today, but 22 Days of Spring Fashion must go on!
Paul and I shot several spring looks when we were in Nashville over the weekend, and I think this is my favorite, although that may have more to do with the location than the outfit… although I like that too.
In fact, I wore this sweater two different days when we were down there — one of the days we toured Nashville, and then for our travel day home. I wore it with blue jeans instead of white jeans, and for our trip home, I swapped out the booties for my grey travel flats.
This sweater is black and white (sometimes it looks navy in certain lights) and I love the whipstitched details and the blouson sleeves. I’m also happy to tell you that this sweater is 40% off the markdown price, bringing it to $36! (Use code NEWNOW.) For size reference, this is a small.

It paired the sweater with white jeans for a fresh spring look, and I was intending to wear it with my white mules, but when I put them together in the hotel, I wasn’t crazy about the white mules with white jeans so I threw on these booties instead.
Unfortunately my booties are sold out, but this pair is very similar; it’s even by the same brand. I like how this light taupe color works for spring.
These white jeans are my go-to. In fact, I bought a 2nd pair last fall when I saw them on sale because I’d worn my first ones so much, they were starting to look tired.
That said, I’m not loving my low-rise jeans so much anymore, especially since my weight is up a bit these days. I’m finding a higher rise much more comfortable, so I’m thinking of ordering these to try. I’m hoping to find them on sale at some point this spring. Both pairs are the same fabric content and ultra white color.
Reviews are mixed, but I find them to be thick enough. I do recommend sizing up one, though. I have a 30 in these and wear 29 in my other Paige jeans.
For a more budget-friendly option, this pair comes highly recommended, and with the 40% off right now, they’re under $50!
This bag is a new addition. I picked it up during the ShopBop sale, and I’m obsessed. The pebbled leather is super soft and supple, and I love the unlined interior, stud accents, and magnetic closure.
It has a divided interior, with a deep zipper pocket separating the two areas inside, as well as a slip pocket on the outside that is perfect for a smartphone.
The putty color works really well with the grey and blush tones that are trending this spring, and it’s a nice alternative if you want a light bag that isn’t stark white. It also comes in white, beige, and black.

This is the type of outfit I’m living in right now with this crazy cold snap we’re having. I has a spring-like vibe while still being practical for the current weather conditions… although I admit that I’m cozied up in a cashmere turtleneck and UGGs today while I watch the snow falling outside my window.
Spring will get here eventually, of that I am sure!
