Nordstrom Favorite Finds

Happy hump day, friends! It’s a whirlwind over here today. We’ve each got a to-do list that’s a mile long, trying to get everything ready to take our daughter to college tomorrow. Forgive me if I’m a little distracted and not quite as attentive to the comments as I usually am over the next few days. Meanwhile, I rounded up a bunch of items I’m loving from Nordstrom right now.

Nordstrom Favorites

Some of these are things I have, and others caught my eye on the website and I wanted to share. I’ll probably be ordering or trying most of them before all is said and done!

  1. Good luck tomorrow!! It’s pouring here in Ohio today and probably coming your way… rain is the last thing you need on that drive and moving in 😫Sending hugs to you and hoping this school year brings good things for everyone ❤️

  2. Good luck with the drop off 🙂 Sorta disappointed those Mother jeans were never restocked during the anniversary sale and now they seem to have all sizes….. at the full price 🙁

  3. Good luck with everything tomorrow. One tip: Have easy access to the following (pack it where its easy to pull out first):

Garbage bags big and small (the garbage can in the room probably will have no or only one bag). The big ones are good to gather trash as you go

Paper towels and cleaning supplies. You will want to wipe down surfaces and drawers before you start putting stuff away.

Fans. If her room is not air conditioned you will want any fans you are bringing pulled out first and set up.

Hair brush/toothbrush/toothpaste. Ok I know this one is random but when my daughters moved into the dorms they wanted this as they wanted this first thing so that they could at least brush their hair and teeth before meeting new people

Band aids. Opening new packaging paper cuts can happen. You don’t want to waste time looking for a bandaid.

Change of clothes. Wow we got hot and sweaty. It was nice to change before going out for a meal when we were done without digging thru the clothes that had just been put away.

Can’t wait to hear how it all went!

      1. You may want to leave your contact info with roommate/suite mates and get theirs. Blessings for safe travels. Exciting times for Caroline.

  4. Please know that I am saying mini prayers for y’all throughout my days, for safe travels, and all of the emotional aspects that come with this exciting time for Caroline. I’d say that the top retailers I am ordering from now are Nordstrom, ON, and Target. For the most part, the phase of life I’m in, there’s no real need for investment pieces of clothing. Hang in there!

  5. Prayers for a safe trip and blessings to you and your family as you take Caroline to college. May it be a special time for you all. I am loving the pumpkin colored sweaters. That color is high on my list this year!

  6. Great finds. You just take the time off to focus on your daughter and the move to college and then yourself adjusting. You blog community will be fine. You shouldn’t have to worry about answering questions etc. these next few days. I’ll be praying for you today and the days ahead and for Caroline. I know she will do well once she gets there and settled in. You have done a great job with her and from how you tell about her on the blog, you can tell she’s a mature adult ready for this next step. Hang in there mama, it will all be okay in the end. Enjoy your trip. Prayers also for Paul in the days ahead. He will do well also. God has all this.

    1. Hi! I was going to post something similar to what Kathy has written but she wrote everything so beautifully that I am just going to say, DITTO!

  7. Safe and healthy travels the next few days! I recall stuffing two cars with ALL the things when I loved from Lancaster PA to Springfield MA circa 1992. And then I sent 1/3 of it immediately back home with my dad because I had way too much stuff! Lol!

  8. I’m ordering the long sleeve thermal and the SS Treasure & Bond in the rusty orange color– and probably the green as well. Hopefully, the orange won’t be too orange. The SS will be nice when I’m. looking for a fall color but it’s still hot in DE.
Have a safe, fun trip, Jo-Lynne. It’s interesting that we teach our children to be independent and self-reliant, but it’s so hard as a parent when they become those things. I only got to take 2 of my 4 children to college. The other 2 had older siblings take them. My husband kept reminding me that that’s what I get for raising such independent children. LOL.

  9. Have a safe trip! I am sure the move-in will be smooth (colleges have this down to a science.) We raise them to be independent and ready for the next chapter of their lives. No one teaches us how to let go. Hardest trip I had to make (driving 700 miles home alone, without her – I had to do this alone since I was divorced.) I cried a ton, but all was eventually good haha! And now we are only 30 miles from them and love being able to see them and help them whenever they need us.
Good luck! I am sure she will have a great semester/academic year.

  10. Hope all goes well tomorrow! We dropped off our kids at college in 2013 and 2015. The oldest was only three hours away and the youngest across the country in CA. It was tough and I was tearful both times. Years later, they’re still living in other states and I miss them dearly, but they are doing well in the lives. Hang in there. Exciting time for Caroline! (My daughter’s name is also Caroline. 😊)

  11. I’ve been eyeing that purse #2…
Good luck tomorrow and prayers for safe travels.. hoping Caroline has a great first year and settles in well.
It will be an adjustment but you’ve got this 💕
