After a long, cold winter here in Philly, I’m counting down the days to my Florida getaway at the end of February—it can’t come soon enough! If you’re also planning a warm-weather escape, I’ve rounded up some resort wear essentials to help you pack and get inspired for your trip.

When it comes to planning for a warm weather vacation, I’m looking for pieces that are versatile and fun, and a little more colorful than what I might typical wear at home. Think breezy cover-ups that double as daytime dresses, roomy beach bags for all the essentials, and comfy sandals that can go from the pool to dinner. And of course, a stylish straw hat to keep the sun off my face!
I’ve pulled together a mix of everything we might need in the graphic below—and if you’re on the hunt for swimsuits, keep scrolling… I’ve got a whole separate shopping widget just for those!

In addition to all of these, I’ve got a Swim & Resort Wear List on my Amazon Storefront with some Amazon finds. They have a lot of swimwear! And you can also check out my Amazon Travel Essentials.

Perfect timing for this post! I have a Florida trip coming up in a few weeks and a Caribbean trip in March.
This question is totally off topic, but maybe a good Saturday question to respond to. What determines premium denim? Is there less stretch? more stretch? thicker fabric? just the price? I find quality of denim hard to pinpoint and would love to know what the qualities are…or should be.
It’s really just the price point. There are no official qualifications. It just comes down to fabric quality and craftsmanship – they usually have better recovery, more attention to detail, and a more flattering fit than lower priced brands. They also have more intricate dyeing and washing techniques that looks more like authentic wear and tear.
That black La Blanca onepiece is gorgeous and ticks all the boxes for the style of bathing suit I’m looking for.
They make great suits!
It’s enjoyable seeing items that women with a larger clothes budget than mine might buy for their escape to a warmer climate.
Got any good tips for business casual for Vegas in June? I am headed there for a work trip and I am trying to travel carryon only for 4 nights. It’s for a travel show so I want comfort but resort vibe meets business. Is that even a thing?
