Satin Dresses for Spring Events

Satiny fabrics and slip dresses are trending this season, and they’re perfect for spring/summer occasions and special events because they exude elegance and sophistication. Plus woven fabrics like silk and satin glide over the body without clinging, which tends to be very flattering, especially when cut on the bias like the dress I’m wearing here.

LNA Giselle Slip Dress (M) // Open Edit Tawney Sandal (8) // Lagos earrings (similar for less) // similar clutch

So many slip dresses have spaghetti straps, so I often pass over them because I don’t want to deal with a strapless bra, but this LNA Giselle Slip Dress from Evereve fits easily over my favorite everyday bra. I love the feminine silhouette and the tie-dye inspired abstract print.

I fee like the print gives it a slightly edgy vibe, which looks great with a black leather jacket or vest. I only have this mirror selfie from when I tried it on with a coated denim jacket here at home, but I forgot to pack the jacket when I went to Florida. Ooops! I guess you can still get the idea. This jacket is a few years old, but you may have something like it in your closet.

LNA Giselle Slip Dress (M) // Sam Edelman Kia Sandal (8) // KUT from the Kloth Kara (S) (similar) (bomber) (bomber) (leather lady jacket) (faux leather moto vest)

I feel like a metallic sandal is the perfect choice of footwear for this dress. Metallics are trending, and they also complement the neutral tones. When I tried it on at home, I paired it with gold ankle strap sandals, but I wore it with strappy silver heels when I was in Florida, and I also carried a black clutch with silver hardware.

I wish I’d thought to bring some more substantial jewelry, but these mixed metal link earrings and bracelets work okay, I guess. They definitely allow the dress to shine. I linked a few other options under the next picture.

  1. I love this dress! Bonus points no spaghetti straps as I always need to wear a bra too! Thanks for sharing x & hope your recovery is going well x

  2. That dress looks gorgeous on you! I like the fact that it doesn’t look like a long slip probably due to the wider straps.
Hope your foot is improving !

  3. I like the fact that it doesn’t look like a slip. This dress emphasizes your curves in the very best way. Gorgeous.

  4. You look so pretty. I like how it can be worn with silver or gold tone sandals. I think I prefer the gold tone, but like both. The dress fits your style. Don’t worry about styling photos with your boot. When you’ve done a few, I really see the outfit and not the boot and we all know and understand. Hang in there. I know behind the scenes you are going through a lot and more than you share, so know you are being prayed for. When you were sharing about the books you have been reading lately, I thought of the books by Kristin Harmel. I believe I’ve shared about her books to you before, but if you haven’t tried any, I recommend “The Book of Lost Name.” I liked all her books. They are historical fiction during War days. Enjoy.

  5. That dress looks so pretty on you!
I remember seeing a solar eclipse when I was I junior high. Fancy eclipse glasses hadn’t been invented yet, so we did something with black construction paper with a pin hole in it. I don’t remember the specifics, it’s been too long!
