Welcome back to Spring Trends Week! Today we’re talking about the Spring 2026 color trends, and tomorrow I’ll wrap up the week with a bunch of spring and transitional try-ons.
Color trends are one of the easiest ways to refresh your wardrobe. Unlike silhouettes, colors don’t really go “out” of style. There are definitely shades that trend, but no color is ever truly off-limits. So if any of this season’s colors speak to you, it’s a great time to lean in.

This spring, everything feels softer. Instead of high-contrast brights or bold statement shades, we’re seeing warm neutrals, delicate pastels, and muted tones that add freshness without overwhelming an outfit. The overall effect feels polished, light, and incredibly wearable.
5 Colors Shaping Spring Style
Let’s look at the colors you’ll be seeing everywhere this spring!
1. Soft Neutrals

Cream, sand, taupe, and oatmeal set the tone for spring’s softer palette. These shades feel light and fresh, pairing beautifully with denim, white, black, and other muted colors trending this season.
These shades span both warm and cool tones, so you can choose the versions that work best with your coloring.
If you’re like me and find softer neutrals a bit washed out near your face, try incorporating the trend through ecru or beige denim, or lean into accessories like shoes and handbags.

2. Buttery Yellow

This is the standout soft statement color of the season. Buttery yellow is gentle, warm, and surprisingly wearable — more subtle than bright sunshine tones. It works especially well with crisp white, shades of blue and light-wash denim.

3. Blush Pink

Blush pink is having another moment this spring, and I’m here for it. This softer, muted version adds warmth and polish without feeling too sweet. It looks incredibly chic with taupe, camel, gray, white — and blue jeans, of course.
I love how it’s styled on the model here with white jeans and rich chocolate brown accessories. And notice how her dark hair color bookends the whole look.

4. Muted Greens

Sage and pistachio are popping up everywhere this spring. These softer greens feel calm, polished, and surprisingly easy to wear. They look especially chic with cream, soft gray, blush pink, and light wash denim. And I really love the contrast of a pale green with brown accessories, like in the outfit above.

5. Powder Blue

Powder blue is soft and airy and brings a fresh lightness to spring outfits. It feels crisp but not stark and pairs effortlessly with white, tan, gray, and washed denim. This shade adds color while maintaining a polished look.
This shade is also making a strong appearance in shoes and handbags.

If you’re thinking about adding something new for the season, color is such an easy way to do it. A sweater, a pair of shoes, a handbag — even a simple tee in one of these shades can subtly update your look.
I’d love to know — which color are you most drawn to this spring?

Well…..I’m liking the neutral – not much for the pastels but that’s ok. I might get some of the pastels in with a couple printed tops I recently purchased where one of those colors might be mixed in but other than that I’ll just stick to my normal neutral(ish) palette.
Since my hair is now silver I look better in cool colors. I already have a lot of blues in my wardrobe. A young woman told me light blue was my color last year. The only colors I can’t wear are yellow and greens like olive green. I can wear green if it has more blue than yellow. I’ve always worn colors that suit me instead of trending. The thing about color trends is you can stock up on your colors. Some years they’re hard to find.
The powder blue is the one I’m most excited about! I love the shoes in that color..
Great post:)
I’m a true fall, so I prefer bolder colors. I do, however, like powder blue. I’ve been looking for a spring sweater in powder blue that isn’t a crew neck. So far, no luck. I did like the yellow loafers. I used to have a pair that I wore out. They looked great with denim. Enjoy NYC, Jo-Lynne!
Colleen-
I just ordered 2 sweaters and a button up top in blue from banana republic factory and I love them.
I like the powder blue, but the rest is mostly a yawn from me. I like bolder colors as a winter, and black and white.
I’m a winter too and I can wear pastels if they’re more clear “bright” pastels. This year’s versions seem to have more “dusty” undertones. I’ll probably either limit them to accessories or go with their brighter (albeit “off trend”) pastel counterparts.
I like the muted greens and already bought a pair of pants and top slightly lighter. I already have a belt and purse in the cognac to accessorize. I need to find sandals in that colour that have some cushion and support for the days when there’s a lot of walking,
I would also do the ice blue but not pink, nor yellow. I love yellow in the spring but it doesn’t suit my colouring. And, I find pink too sweet, unless it leans more fushia.
Very pretty colors. Not my fav as I look better in more saturated color but I suppose pants or shoes these colors would be a fun update.
We’re headed to NYC tomorrow morning for the weekend. What show are you seeing?
These are really pretty but kind of boring. Both things can be true at the same time, right? I did buy some yellow pants last year so I’m glad the butter yellow trend isn’t over yet.
I don’t like pastels at all–and these seem to lean that way. I may need to check out the light sage jacket at Loft tho–as it looks kinda cute. Light blue is okay, but yellow? I’ve never seen anyone look good in light yellow–or maybe its just that I dislike it so much–lol
The powder, blush pink, and the light green color are so pretty. The softness of them all is appealing to me. I bought powder blue Gola sneakers from Evereve just last week and love them. However, I’m finding myself a little unsure of what tops/sweaters to wear with them. Because I like blue so much, I have a few sweaters in a similar shade but am not sure if they should be worn with the sneakers. Will it look too matchey??Or, do I stick with black, gray, or navy blue on top (t-shirts, cardigans, for example) and jeans, navy, or black pants on the bottom? I don’t want to look like an Easter egg.
Yah, I hear you. I will have to play around with them. I think yellow and pink tops would look good!
I like all of these colors but mostly what I’ve bought is soft green and blue. I like yellow but it’s not a good color on me. I love blush pink but haven’t found anything that has called to me.
I definitely will get something in powder blue; I love that color and it’s often hard to find. I like pink if it’s a cool-toned pink–I detest that beige/peach/pinkish version.
I like neutrals, but with the exception of the sage green, the rest of the colors are pastels, which as an Autumn a) don’t suit me and b) I’m not really drawn to them anyhow. I look best in very saturated fall colors. My “spring and summer” colors are a deeper sage green, apricot and coral, lighter teals, etc, basically slightly lighter shades of the deep warm -toned colors that I wear for fall and winter. However, I have a dear friend who is a Summer and these colors look amazing on her! 🙂
Butter yellow! It seems so fresh.
The buttery yellow and pale blue colors are fabulous!
Jo-Lynne,
Am I missing something? I scrolled to go through all the fashion items in the post and can’t see the “shop” information for the cream colored cardigan sweater with the pattern to it. Did I miss it or did you miss it? LOL
Thank you in advance!
