T-Shirt Dress Outfit (A Nice Alternative to Shorts)
I’ve been on the lookout for casual dresses as an alternative to shorts in the spring and summer months, and a t-shirt dress fits the bill beautifully! It is so comfortable and easy to wear.
Just throw it on with sneakers or sandals, add a denim jacket or cardigan (if you tend to get cold indoors) along with a few simple accessories, and you’re good to go!
I’m personally a huge fan of the denim jacket option. It looks more modern and casual than a cardigan, but it all depends on your comfort level. Both certainly work.
If I were to wear a cardigan, I’d go for the longer style that is trending right now.
I already posted this dress on my Facebook page, and I got a lot of great feedback from women who have it saying how much they like wearing it and how well it washes up. It is definitely form fitting, so I sized up to a medium.
My younger daughter absconded with my black and white Adidas Superstars (evidently they’re super trendy among the pre-teen set!) so I ordered myself a pair of the pink Gazelle style for summer. These do run large, as indicated on the website. I went down a whole size from what I normally wear in sneakers and they fit perfectly.
I found these a little bit softer and easier to break in that my Superstars. They aren’t as bulky either. They’re a great choice for a summer fashion sneaker.
I kept my jewelry simple with a mosaic pendant necklace and oversized faux pearl earrings.
This look is easy to alter to suit your lifestyle needs. Dress it up with a scarf and swap out the sneakers for sandals or a closed-toe espadrille, and you could wear it in a lot of office settings. It would be a great dress for teachers too.
Or wear it with your favorite fashion sneakers (Converse would be cute too!) or flip flops to run errands on the weekend, or put it on with wedge sandals when you’re going to a casual party or get-together. The possibilities are virtually endless!
