tarte cosmetics: Buy Two, Get One Free

Friends! It’s a two-fer today — posts, that is. It’s actually a three-fer over at tarte cosmetics. They just launched an exclusive buy two, get one free plus free shipping deal on their site with code FREE. Plus, purchases over $65 will receive best selling minis! It’s a great time to stock up on your favorites or start your holiday shopping.

This sale includes the highly acclaimed shape tape and shape tape ultra creamy concealers as well as my go-to tartelette in bloom clay eye shadow palette. I also got to try a bunch of new products that are quickly becoming staples in my daily makeup routine.

If you aren’t familiar with tarte cosmetics, these are high quality vegan and cruelty-free beauty products that perform exceptionally well. In addition to that, tarte products are formulated without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate, and gluten so you can feel good about putting them on your skin.

I’m already a big fan of the tarte shape tape ultra creamy concealer, but it does tend to settle into my fine lines over the course of the day, so I wanted to try their creaseless concealer.

The day we took these pictures, I put the creaseless concealer under one eye and the shape tape ultra creamy under the other. Both did a great job concealing my dark circles and veins, but the creaseless one definitely looked better on my fine lines throughout the day. I showed Alison (my photographer) and she also noticed the difference.

All that to say, I’ve been using the creaseless concealer ever since. Both are great products, but if you have that issue with fine lines, you may want to give the creaseless version a try.

Next, I tried the tarte babassu foundcealer skincare foundation and face tape foundation, again, by applying one to each side of my face. The tarte foundcealer is a moisturizer, concealer, foundation, and SPF all in one. It’s formulated to hydrate and help skin appear plumper, and that is definitely what I need.

The face tape foundation is a full-coverage foundation with more of a matte finish that claims to smooth texture and cover redness and blemishes.

While the face tape foundation lives up to the hype, I prefer the tarte foundcealer for my dry, aging skin. Both products offer better coverage for my melasma than the foundation I’ve been using, but the tarte foundcealer makes my skin look softer and more radiant without any evidence of dryness.

I also tried the tarte Amazonian clay 12-hour blush for the first time, and I love how it goes on evenly. It’s also buildable and blends in extremely well. I’m wearing the color dazzled.

The maracuja juicy lip is another new to me product that I highly recommend trying. It’s a balm, gloss, color and lip treatment in one. The hibiscus that I’m wearing here is a really pretty shade of pink, and it provides a good amount of color and tons of shine.

Wear it alone, or over your favorite lip color. I penciled in my lips and applied the juicy lip on top, and it lasted nicely until I ate lunch. I noticed that it didn’t bleed into the skin around my lips, so I just reapplied, and it lasted till dinner.

You can also see the tarte foundcealer at work in this picture. I have a lot of dark discoloration on that side of my face, near my jawline, and it is barely noticeable here. I’m officially a convert! I usually put 2 or 3 layers of foundation and mineral powder over that area to hide what the tarte foundcealer did in one coat.

My favorite eye shadow palette, tartelette in bloom clay palette is also included in this promotion. I highly recommend it for an everyday eye shadow, but they also sent me the tartelette toasted eye shadow palette to try.

It’s a little warm for my coloring, so I stuck to the tartelette in bloom palette for my makeup in this post, but I highly recommend either of these Amazonian-clay eye shadows — depending on the color you prefer. They have tons of pigment, but they’re also very blendable, and they last all day without creasing or fading. These palettes also last a really long time.

If you have trouble with darkness in the under-eye area, I recommend giving the maracuja C-brighter eye treatment a try. Apply this lightweight cream morning and night under the eyes and over the brow bone.

It’s formulated to smooth, hydrate and brighten the undereye area, and it has light-reflecting particles that offset look of dark circles. It’s a great product to use before under-eye concealer for a smoother result that doesn’t settle into fine lines.

Finally… I saved the best for last. If you’ve hung around these parts for long, you probably know that I’m very loyal to a mascara I’ve used since high school. I always try others and always go back to my first true love.

Well, after 30 years, I’m changing my tune. The tarte lights, camera, lashes 4-in-1 mascara is a game changer. It’s a 4-in-1 mascara that volumizes, lengthens, curls, and conditions your lashes.

I’ve never tried a mascara that separates, lengthens, and thickens the way this does in only two coats. Even with my favorite volumizing mascara, I often use another one on top for extra length and separation, and sometimes I use a mascara primer as well.

Well, the tarte lights, camera, lashes 4-in-1 mascara does all of the above, plus it actually gives my lashes a bit of curl. For the best length and separation, apply it slowly from base to the tips of your lashes, and wiggle it a bit as you pull it through. I apply 2 or 3 coats with a few seconds in between for maximum length and volume. This will be my go-to mascara from now on.

If I keep going at this rate, tarte cosmetics is going to comprise my entire makeup routine! Not that there’s anything wrong with that… But truly, this sale is the perfect time to stock up on your favorites or try out some new beauty products. I highly recommend any and all of these. Let me know what’s in your shopping cart!

  1. My problem is that I so rarely wear make-up that it lasts forever, but I decided to try a few of your suggestions.
Glad to hear that Paul is, albeit slowly, on the mend.

  2. I’ve used their blush for years (blushing bride) and really like it. I’ve been using the moisturizing shape tape as my foundation since spring. It’s so easy to use and I like that it gives me a sheer coverage that I want. The eye shadow is good but I wish they had more cool colors. It does last all day though and it doesn’t flake down onto my face when I apply it. Anxious to try the mascara.

  3. I’m interested in the mascara if after 30 yrs. you are changing. 🙂 Although it does have mixed reviews when I read them, with people saying it flakes and dries out. This is the problem with CLEAN mascaras I’ve found, but I do like the one I’m using now. I have switched to all CLEAN make-up, but it is expensive and I have to order all of it online. I have a question on the blush. Is it sparkly? Its looks like it has a sheen. The sale is great, but unfortunately I just got new mascara, foundation and my blush should be here anyway. I’d like to try some of these products sometime though. Thanks for the great post on the products. It really does help. Would you please update us on the mascara after you’ve wore it awhile and as the tube gets older? I’d like to know why the reviews are so mixed. Thanks.

  4. I’ve been using the tartelette in bloom palette since you had suggested it and love it! What shade of the creaseless concealer do you use? I’m thinking of trying that plus the mascara.

  5. I started using the tartelette in bloom eyeshadow palette after you wrote about it, and i absolutely love it! I just ordered the foundcealer and the mascara. I also started using the shape tape ultra creamy concealer after you wrote about it awhile back, and i really like it, but I’m really interested in the creaseless concealer. Thanks so much for this post!

I’m happy to hear that your husband is getting better! 🎉🎉🎉
