Spring Looks with Pintucked Pants

Along with relaxed and full-length styles, pintucked pants are trending this spring. This is a great way to add interest to a simple outfit. It also creates a long, vertical line for a slenderizing and leg-lengthening effect.

I found these pintucked flare pants at LOFT, and I love this cool shade of oatmeal-beige for spring. They’re stretchy and comfortable and super flattering, with slimming interior stretch pockets.

These pants have a 11 5/8″ rise and a 31″ inseam, and they also come in petite sizes. They run true to size, or size down if in between; I have the 6.

I styled these pants with two different tops for this post. This Sanctuary Johnny Collar Top is from Evereve. The sophisticated animal print gives it an elegant appeal with a bit of an edge, making it a nice option for dinners out and certain office environments. It has a relaxed fit, so you may want to size down if you are in between sizes in tops.

To keep the look light and airy, I added nude pumps and a belt in a similar shade of beige. My pumps are like 10 years old, and they’re fine, but a more current look would be a pair of lower heeled slingbacks.

I came right home and ordered these in Soft Beige and these in Brown, but now I will probably be sending them back. Due to my recent ankle injury, I doubt I’ll be able to wear heels this summer. Womp… womp… At any rate, if you’re looking to update your dress shoes, I would recommend either of those styles.

I also took a few pictures of the same outfit with this Geo Shirred Raglan Blouse from LOFT. This blouse is a little more conservative than the animal print blouse, which is perfect for church or work wear. Or you can dress it down with white jeans and silver flats for dinner out with the family or other casual events.

The modest v-neck and shirred raglan sleeves are flattering for most body types, and the blouson sleeves keep it looking feminine and not too corporate.

I was planning to wear this outfit with one of the new pairs of slingbacks to church on Easter Sunday in a few weeks, but now it looks like I’ll be sporting a fancy black medical boot, so I guess I need to rethink that outfit plan!

I hope this post gives you some non-denim spring outfit inspiration, if that’s something you seek! And I rounded up some more pintucked pants in both denim and non-denim options below for your shopping convenience!

  1. I’m so happy you styled these pants. I purchased them a couple of days ago and purchased a 6 and 8. I read reviews that they run small. I was going to wear them for Easter since I had sclerotherapy (my legs are not pretty…yet!). I love the v neck top you have, I was just looking at that this morning. I purchased the Jungle Henley to style with them.

  2. I am so sorry to hear you won’t be able to wear heels this summer! I love my high heeled sandals and pumps so I feel for you. When I broke my ankle 5 years ago I very impatiently waited until I could wear heels again. It was very weird going to the office with sneakers on, lol. Prayers you’ll recover quickly. Regarding the Loft pants, I have been eyeing those and was thinking of getting my usual Loft size 2 (sometimes I’m a 0, thanks to vanity sizing), but there are comments on the site that the pants run small. But you got a 6 and I’m usually a size or two below you, so do think they run true to size? They also have 5% spandex so that provides some give.

    1. Yeah, I rarely size down to a 6 (28) these days, so I’m not sure why I was able to go with the 6. I did purchase both 6 and 8 to compare. They were snug, for sure, but the 8 didn’t fit right when I sat down.

  3. I ordered the Loft pants and blouse when I saw your email on Saturday. The blouse is great, but unfortunately the pants are too short for my long legs. I usually prefer a 33” inseam and wear a 12 or 14. Since these are light colored and based on reviews, I ordered the 14 which was the correct size except for the length. I would definitely keep them if they weren’t too short!

  4. Very nice outfit on you. I have those pants in black. Even though they are petite I still had to get them altered. I have a lot invested in them so I am going to keep wearing them. They make my short legs look long and lean. I’m sorry you won’t be able to wear heels this summer. At least sneakers are in.

      1. They weren’t in when I had foot surgery or when I broke my ankle. I had to buy bigger sneakers afterwards too. I remember my son asking why was I wearing old people shoes. Lol. At least now there’s so many cute styles. It would be interesting to see what clothing you’re wearing with a boot. I rather wear a boot than a cast like I had to both times.

  5. Your fancy black medical boot is probably your most expensive shoe! Sorry, I had to point it out. I’m glad you’ll have a plan to move forward after the MRI.

    1. Not if Jo Lynn has medical insurance. I just bought a boot a couple of months back (broken ankle) and it was not especially expensive in my view Of course, it’s half a pair, right?

  6. Both tops are so pretty and look great with the pants. Since you are in a medical boot now, I do hope that you no longer need to use crutches.

  7. WOW, I love the look of pin tucked pants. Thanks for sharing – I will keep my eye out for a pair that suits me.
