Spring Break is on the horizon, and it sounds like a lot of you have fun plans. We were actually going to make travel plans to a beachy location over Easter weekend, but two of our three kids don’t have any time off from school so we’ve decided to lay low and hang out here at home.
If I did have fun plans for Spring Break in a warm weather location, I would definitely be packing the two outfits in this post, both from Nordstrom.
First up, a graphic tee with linen drawstring shorts…
How fun is this scoopneck graphic tee from Boden? Yes, you can now find Boden pieces at Nordstrom! I love a graphic tee, and this one is a bit classier than most.
The quality of this t-shirt really stands out. It’s made of a nice sturdy cotton fabric that’s not too thin and not too thick, it has a flattering shape through the waist, plus the scoopneck and cap sleeves give it an extra touch of femininity.
This top runs true to size; for reference, I have the small and it fits perfectly.
I love the relaxed cut and the cool, breathable linen fabric. These shorts are just begging to go to the beach. In fact, I may have to plan a beach trip just for them.
They also come in black, olive, and an ivory/black stripe. For size reference, I have the small.
Sandals or sneakers will look great with this outfit, but I recently discovered these Eileen Fisher espadrille flats, and I love how they level up this casual look.
I’m a sucker for an espadrille flat in spring and summer, and the d’Orsay styling and elastic straps makes these a little extra special. Plus they’re incredibly lightweight and flexible.
Sometimes shoes with a jute sole can be stiff or heavy, but these are neither. They’re also leather lined, so they’re as comfortable and gorgeous inside as they are out. Definitely a bit more of a splurge purchase, but well worth the investment if this is a style you’ll wear a lot.
For reference, I sized up half in these to an 8.5.
This outfit is perfect for a day of sightseeing or a round of mini-golf when on vaca, or to hang out in the backyard and host friends on the patio at home.
Just add a great pair of sunnies and a few pieces of simple jewelry and you’re good to go!

I also styled another casual Spring Break look with a camo-print paperbag waist skirt…
A casual skirt is a great alternative to shorts, especially after a certain age. I still love my shorts, but sometimes I feel more comfortable in a skirt or dress.
This “paperbag waist” style is on trend right now, and I love how easy it is to pull it on and go.
I went with the camo print, but this skirt also comes in olive and chambray. It runs true to size; I’m wearing a small for reference.
Both this skirt, my grey tee, and the shorts above are the Caslon brand — one of Nordstrom’s exclusive brands. This brand nails effortless, everyday style at a moderate price point, and it always washes and wears well for me.
These sandals are from Treasure & Bond, another Nordstrom-exclusive brand known for its laid-back style and uncomplicated aesthetic. I love how these take the traditional slide sandal and turn it up a notch with the slices in the vamp.
These shoes have a cushioned footbed, and the blush suede is on trend and highly versatile. They’re also true to size; I’m in my usual 8.
I kept this look simple with a grey slub crewneck tee on top.
This Caslon tee is a great closet basic that every woman could use in her closet. It has the perfect crewneck, in my opinion. It’s cut lower than some, which helps elongate the neck just a bit — not as much as a scoop or v-neck, but sometimes it’s nice to have a crew neckline.
It also has a seam up the back that’s a nice added detail. Again, it’s TTS and I have the small.
When I’m traveling or sightseeing, I like to carry a small crossbody, and this small leather bucket bag is super cute. The magnetic-flap closure keeps it nice and secure if that’s a concern of yours, plus I think it’s such a fun feature.
This bag is made of a gorgeous pebbled leather, and it’s priced just under $100. It also comes in black and brown, but I love ivory bags right now, and I think the painted edges show best against the lighter colors.
Well, I guess I better get started making some Spring Break plans, now that I’ve got the wardrobe for it. Ha!
Fortunately these outfits will come in just handy here at home… whenever spring decides to arrive. Such great closet basics that can be mixed and matched with other pieces in my wardrobe… or yours!
