Hi friends, and happy Wednesday! It’s time for another What I Wore Lately. This outfit roundup includes pretty much everything I’ve worn since we got back from our Iceland/Scotland/London trip last month. I’ve been in a bit of a slump, trying to get back into the swing of things after vacation, and getting dressed has felt a little trickier than usual. (More on that tomorrow…) At any rate, here’s what I’ve been wearing lately! Hopefully it gives you some outfit ideas—or at least a little midweek entertainment.

What I Wore: Two Weeks of Everyday Fall Outfits
I threw on this casual look to work from home and go to a chiropractor appointment the day after we got back from our trip. I just wanted to be comfortable, so I wore my olive Athleta cargo pants with a black tee and sneakers.

I wore this outfit to church the next day. It was still warm here, so I pulled out my new olive barrel pants and paired them with a brown tee, leopard mesh flats, and a brown belt. A pendant necklace and gold hoops finished off the simple look.

After church, we went out to lunch, and Paul snapped this picture. I was feeling all inspired after our vacation, thinking we should take more photos “in the wild” like we did on the trip—but of course, that idea didn’t last long. I think this is the only one I got. Oh well!

I spent the next day working from home, catching up on laundry and computer work. After my workout, I threw on jeans and a tee with Birks and wore that for the rest of the day.

I went to Bible Study the next morning, and later on, I met a friend at the mall for shopping and dinner, so that was a fun day! I wore my rust kick flares with the oatmeal LOFT wedge sweater and topped it off with my cloth & stone denim jacket. In a perfect world, I’d prefer a more open neckline with this jacket, but it works okay.

I wore this outfit to a doctor’s appointment after a photo shoot the next day. It ended up being a little too warm, but I was excited to wear my new jacket. Looking back at this picture, I wish I’d chosen higher-rise jeans—the jacket is quite short, and with a 10″ rise, these hit right at the waistband. I think the proportions would look better if the jacket came down a couple of inches lower.

I changed to meet a friend for dinner that night. Since the weather was still mild, I wore my Frank & Eileen trouser jeans with a striped sweater vest and minimalist flats in a similar shade of brown. The suede bag tied in nicely with the other browns in the outfit.

I don’t have any photographic evidence of what I wore the next day, but I had a gym workout followed by a glycolic peel at my derm’s office, so I skipped makeup and stayed in my workout clothes.
That Friday, I had a mani/pedi and wore this comfy look. The photo’s at a bit of an awkward angle, but I thought the outfit was cute… maybe not, lol!
I was also trying to get one more day out of my hair, so I went for a half-up situation. Not sure it really works for me, but at least it kept my hair out of my face and covered up that awful “part” in the back of the head that happens—you all know what I mean.

Later that evening, I changed into this casual look to visit friends on their patio. The temperature was starting to drop, and I wanted to be sure I’d stay warm enough.

That Saturday was another beautiful day, and I didn’t want to stay inside, so Paul and I went downtown to walk around and grab drinks and apps at a couple of spots. I first put this outfit together and even shared it on my Instagram Story…

LNA Loma Crew Neck (S) // PAIGE Anessa (29) // Loeffler Randall jelly sandals
But I was feeling a little schlumpy in that sweater, so I went back to my closet and ended up in this familiar outfit. I know I’ve worn this sweater a lot, but it’s such a great transition piece, and the proportions work really well with wide-leg jeans.

I was running late for church the next morning (what else is new?), so I threw this outfit together quickly, knowing it would work. I was so glad I’d held onto these black slingbacks from last year—I hardly wore them, but they’re such a great classic to have.

When I got home, I realized that in my rush, I hadn’t grabbed the jeans I meant to. I was going for the PAIGE Anessa, but these are the KUT from the Kloth Meg. They’re actually a bit longer than the PAIGE, so I pulled them out to see if I’d like them better with this look. I think the PAIGE pair, being slightly shorter and more structured, is a little more flattering, and I also prefer their higher rise. But the KUT Meg fits more comfortably right now, which is a major plus.

That Monday, I had a quick photo shoot in the morning, and afterward I threw on this comfy outfit to work from home for the rest of the day.

I basically recreated Sunday’s look in different colors for Bible Study last Tuesday. This is the same mock neck top, but in green, with the PAIGE Anessa jeans in chocolate.

I skipped a few days of outfit pictures—I think I was mostly in workout clothes. Then last Friday, I pulled this look together to celebrate Becca’s birthday with breakfast out and a little shopping trip.
A front came through, and fall weather finally arrived! I struggled a bit to pull something together since I’d gotten so used to short sleeves, but I ended up grabbing a classic oatmeal v-neck sweater and pairing it with my grey jeans and black rag & bone Chelsea boots I’d just pulled out of storage.
I tried a few jackets and finally landed on this AllSaints stand-collar leather jacket in Oxblood from the #NSale. I wasn’t even sure I was going to keep it until that morning, but it turned out to be the perfect topper for this neutral look. Plus, I’ve been seeing stand-collar styles trending for fall, so it felt like a fresh update to my go-to moto jacket outfits.

I did some try-ons that afternoon, and then we went out for sushi for Becca’s birthday dinner that night. I guess I was overheated from the try-ons because I reverted back to short sleeves. (I wore my London Fog trench on top.)

I wore my new Vuori set in Raisin to Pilates last Saturday and then to the grocery store. This photo is one Alison took last week.

Then I changed into my cozy Icelandic sweater and jeans when I got home to make dinner for the family.

This is what I wore to church this past Sunday. I pulled out an old favorite—my pink Vince cashmere cardigan from last season—and paired it with my MOTHER Rollers and Sam Edelman ankle boots in chocolate suede.

On Monday, it was Vuori again for my gym workout.

I changed when I got home, just looking to be comfy. I pulled out my old faithful MOTHER Weekenders and the J.Crew cardigan that has become my favorite travel sweater. Sadly, these jeans aren’t fitting too well these days… I think it might be time to retire them.

And then yesterday, I went to Bible Study in the morning and ran to the mall to do a few errands afterwards. I wore the cropped barn jacket over the matte coated tee (I’m not sure why that pairing didn’t occur to me before!) with an older pair of MOTHER Weekender flares in a darker wash. I liked how the deeper denim complemented the darker tones of the tops, and I finished the look with brown boots, a brown bag, and a few of my favorite jewelry pieces.

My favorite is the Vince pink sweater with the jeans😊
The way the cardigan skims your torso is so flattering!
My hair gal has given me a few tips on the whole back part travesty… sometimes I just take that section and use a smaller round brush, into the roots and shoot it with a hot dryer and lots of tension. Then comb it straight down to “set” as it cools. Another way is to use a comb and blow dryer and over direct in both directions (east to west then west to east) then comb straight down for it to “set” as it cools. Maybe this would work for you too😉I do think there’s a trade off…. As a back sleeper, where this lame part develops, I am reducing facial and chest wrinkles so I’m calling in a win! **bright side**
Thanks for the tips. I’ve tried wetting it and doing the blow dryer thing in the different directions but it still splits. I need to try some product.
Love the church outfits and birthday dinner outfit. I think up and down weather is the hardest. I have the same coated tee in small, wish I had sized up to medium, it drapes better on you.
Yeah it seems to run a little small.
I love the last look you did- it just screams fall to me!!!
You look great in all of your outfits. Thank you for doing the “what you wore” section because I wear jeans all the time and get great ideas from you.
Glad to hear it!
I think green is a great color on you! Every time I see a picture of you in the green Michael Stars Nara top your face just glows. So pretty! Love the raisin colored Vuori set too.
Thanks! I do love that top.
My favorite outfit is the one with you wearing the London Fog rain coat. Very chic look. I saw you wearing it in your travels (or something like it) and I kept thinking about it but haven’t pulled the trigger. I guess I’m nervous I won’t have many places to wear it because my life style is pretty casual and wondering if a shorter jacket would be more versatile since I’m petite. I’m also on the fence between black and tan. Does it run kind of big? I have a broad rib cage but worried it will be too big if I get a Small.
It’s definitely a relaxed fit. I don’t think it’s terribly dressy but I know what you mean. I brought my crop trench to NC for this trip because there’s no rain expected and it seemed a little more casual for the mountains.
Can you link your rug you’re standing on in a couple of the pics? It looks so pretty!
I got it at HomeSense
What do you mean by back part on your hair??
You know how the hair in the back of the top of your head tends to split, making a part? It happens worse to back-sleepers. 😅
I always sleep with my hair on the top of my head in a Messy bun in a scrunchie! That may help back sleepers!! Gives my hair extra body as well!!
I do the same thing, put it in a messy bun. I have long hair and it does help with body!
Love the green top and brown pants
Seeing what you have been wearing remains one of my favorite posts. We are still having highs in the 80’s, so I’m still wearing short sleeve tops. I’m so tired of sweating! Our lows in the upper 40’s and the 50’s is awesome.
In the photos of the KUT Meg vs the Paige Anessa you look fabulous in the KUT Meg. You always look great but if the KUT is more comfortable, then look gorgeous and be comfortable at the same time! I love KUT. The most comfortable jeans I own!
Thank you for your outfit inspiration!
The struggle is real–re-figuring outfits now that the cool weather has arrived! I need to ask about the weatherized brooks ghost. I find brooks ghost my most comfortable shoe for working out and walks. Is the weatherized version bulky or thick looking? Would it work with jeans for everyday wear? I don’t care for a thick Hoka shoe look.
THey’re about the same as my other Brooks, but they aren’t shoes I wear with jeans for everyday wear. They’re for running or walking or working out. I wore them that day b/c it was rainy and I have to slog through the grass to get to the gym, and I hate it when my feet are wet. I used to wear boots and change till I got these.
love the outfits, lots of inspiration. you even put effort in over damp, grey, rainy weekend. Iove the versatility I can wear these outfits any wear even to church.
Great outfits. Wow!!!! You have so many items to pull from. How fun. Hard to pick just one favorite but I like the rust jean one and also the tie front Kut Jean one. It looks just so casual but pulled together. Great vibe. Many great outfits. It’s good for you to have these post to look back and see again to put together again down the road. Now you have me curious what you said you will tell more tomorrow. lol I too struggled, anytime when our weather turns cooler, but now it’s sunny again, but still warm enough for light sweater. I too got use to short sleeves.
