What I Wore Lately: February Looks

February may be the shortest month of the year, but it certainly did drag on. Between the snow, freezing temperatures, and lots of indoor days, I found myself reaching for cozy layers and familiar favorites on repeat.

We managed to sneak in a quick overnight trip to NYC, which was a welcome change of scenery, but overall it was a fairly quiet winter month, and my outfits reflect that. Practical, comfortable, and built around well-loved staples.

Here’s a look at what I wore lately — a mix of everyday winter outfits, casual layers, and a few newer pieces that helped add a little variety to a cold, snowy month.

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and typically wear a small or medium in tops and dresses, a 29–30 in jeans and pants, and a size 8.5 shoe. I often fall between sizes, so fit notes matter. Gifted items are marked c/o; everything else was purchased by me.

Three Weeks of Everyday Winter Outfits

It’s been three weeks since I’ve shared one of these, so let’s jump right in!

This was a casual work-from-home day. You can see the snowy landscape outside my window. I threw on my favorite cashmere cardigan with Vuori pants and slip-on sneakers.

Another casual day at home. I didn’t even put on earrings, so you know I was really phoning it in. I did go ahead and pull on jeans and a cute sweatshirt, along with striped socks and comfy Birkenstock clogs.

FYI, this sweatshirt is down to $40 and fully stocked! Such a good one — super soft and cozy on the inside.

I wore this casual look to get a manicure, and otherwise I was working from home. I guess I was feeling like adding some color to my life!

Also, the Delancey Sling from Capital Z is such a great little bag, and I love how it adds a fun pop to the outfit.

This was for a Saturday morning Pilates class. Of course, I topped it off with my big puffer coat.

I came home and changed into this comfy sweatshirt and jeans for the rest of the day.

For church the next day, it was bitterly cold outside! I pulled out my Icewear sweater from Iceland and paired it with black jeans and boots, then topped it off with my Aritzia Only Coat.

And then it was back to my grey raglan sweatshirt, jeans, and slip-on sneakers for a Monday working from home.

I pulled on this cozy, casual look for yet another day at home, and we hosted a small group from church that night.

The next morning, I had a photo shoot, so I got myself all gussied up and curled my hair. This was the last look we shot, and it’s what I wore to run a few errands on the way home.

I changed into more comfortable clothes for the afternoon and threw on my Barbour coat to run out to the hair salon later to get my color touched up. (I swapped sneakers after realizing the Steve Maddens were too small — I’ve since ordered the 9.)

Another variation on the theme of the month: cute sweatshirt, blue jeans, cozy sneakers… The fleece lining on these is so cozy. They’re all I want to wear at home, so I finally ordered the white to have an alternative to the black. They feel like slippers but look sporty-chic.

Paul took me out to dinner on Valentine’s Day. I had spent much of the afternoon trying on spring clothes and resort wear, and by the time it was time to get dressed for dinner, I was completely tapped out of outfit inspiration, so I went with a tried-and-true date night look I wore back in December.

I paired a black cashmere sweater with washed black relaxed flares, added heeled leather boots and a black belt, and layered on some of my favorite designer jewelry. I was clearly in the mood for something dark and understated.

That said, I topped it off with my faux fur animal print jacket for a festive touch. I figured it was probably my last chance to wear it this winter, so I might as well.

I layered up for an outdoor walk before church the next day. These fleece-lined pants are everything in the winter — and they’re 25% off + extra 10% off right now. As an aside, I also wore them in Iceland, and they make great cold-weather travel pants.

I changed into my new J.Crew cable-knit cardigan with black jeans for church.

We had a few mild days toward the beginning of last week, so I took the opportunity to pull out a pair of loafer mules for a trip to the mall with a friend. I wanted to wear something comfortable and easy to slip on and off in the dressing room.

And I took the opportunity to try out my new MAISON de SABRE Bucket Soft Tote. I love the understated elegance, and the fuchsia accents on the inside are such a fun touch. I’m also wearing the Quince Globe Boho Hoops, which are a really nice pair of everyday earrings in 18K gold vermeil.

The next day, I took some new Quince workout gear out for a test drive. In a recent post where I shared my favorite workout pieces, several of you mentioned Quince as a great source for more affordable options, so I decided to give it a try.

I really like both of these pieces, although I wish I’d sized up to a large in the top for a more relaxed fit. The leggings are great — I love the high waist, and they stay put during high impact moves.

Another casual day at home in a sweatshirt and jeans… This one just came in from Nation Los Angeles, and I love the raw hem, as well as the V-neck with snap details.

I had plans to meet a friend for lunch the next day and was trying on some new pieces that had just come in. We’d been having milder temperatures, so I almost wore this.

Splendid Christa Short Sleeve Sweater c/o (S) // FRAME Modern Pocket Wide Leg Jeans (30) // Dolce Vita Alenna (8.5 // Stella & Dot necklace

I love these pieces, but it felt a little too early, so I switched back into some old winter faithfuls. I did at least grab a trench from the back of my closet instead of my typical wool coat.

I also swapped bags at the last minute because the M.Gemi tote felt too big for lunch. It’s great when I need to carry a laptop, though.

Another workout, and I tried a different pair of Quince leggings this time. These don’t have quite as much compression as the other pair, and they do wrinkle a bit around the knees and ankles. If I buy more, I’ll buy the Power-Up High-Rise Training Legging.

That afternoon, Caroline and I took the train to NYC to see Chicago. I packed at the last minute, so I didn’t overthink it. I just grabbed a few neutral staples and familiar favorites. I wanted to wear pieces I knew would be comfortable, versatile, and easy to layer.

Aritzia The Only Coat in Heather Black (S) // Jenni Kayne Flynn in Black (S) (similar for less) // FRAME The Pixie Arrow – on sale (30) (option) // old rag & bone boots // Burberry scarf (budget option) // similar red bag // AWAY Overnight Bag

Had to grab a quick bathroom selfie at the hotel before dinner at Dos Caminos. We stayed at the W Times Square, and I absolutely loved the vibe.

And then it was back home and right back to this outfit…

I threw on these winter basics for church on a cold, rainy Sunday.

And finally, a more trend-driven look for a work-from-home day on Monday… I love these new pants from Ruti. I know they won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but I love them. More on those in my next round of try-ons…

And that’s a wrap on this month’s outfits. Here’s hoping March brings a little more outfit inspiration… and a little less snow! 😉

  1. The J Crew baby-cable knit cardigan is sooo pretty. I love that shade of blue, and you look great in it. It’s available in other lovely colors, too. At this point, I don’t need any more long sleeve tops, but that sweater is very tempting.

  2. I just ordered the grey Athleta Altitude pants thank you!!!It’s been so cold 😆 can’t wait to get them, one of my favorites!

  3. Your everyday look is what I usually wear too! The J Crew cardigan in blue is so pretty on you….it is calling my name….hopefully it will go on sale soon. Glad you and your daughter had fun in NYC!
Thank you for sharing. I love your shoes and handbags ❤️❤️❤️

  4. Those loose pants look really comfortable for home. They look better than the pants I wear at home. I look like a bum at home. I like the blue JCrew cardigan.

  5. Great recap of your style! I recently started trying Quince and bought 3 Cotton Modal Scoop Neck Tees. I ordered the white, navy and olive. They are great. The fabric is nice quality and my normal size fit perfectly. I’ll have to try the denim and some active wear, I like tank you are wearing.
